  • This study was conducted to develop a teaching competency scales customized for teaching programs conducted by Center for Teaching & Learning at A University. To achieve this purpose, a preliminary study was set up, which consists of three competency groups (basic competency, practice competency, innovation competency) and 26 learning competency factors through a review of previous studies. In order to verify the reliability and validity of the provisional teaching competency scales, an online survey was conducted on A university teachers in September 2020, The collected questionnaire data were organized and exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, 26 teaching competency was reduced to 17. As a result of the confirmatory factor analysis, the model was found to be good, Also, as a result of analyzing the construct reliability and AVE of the confirmed teaching competency factors, all 17 factors showed a good level of .7 or more. The teaching competency scales developed through this study can be used as basic data for performance evaluation and development of new programs of CTL teaching program.

  • The constructivism is an important stream of the recent trends of mathematics education. In order for students to construct their knowledge for themselves, above all, it should be a prerequisite that they participate in actively, Using games helps students to participate in learning mathematics actively. I think, up to now, mathematics teachers use games mainly for motivation and it does not connect to true learning mathematics through using games. So, the purposes of this study are developing the mathematical games connecting to mathematical contents closely, designing the teaching models to connect game activities to learning mathematics, and developing several teaching plans using games to mathematics class. In this study, I propose what conditions 'good' game should have, classify games as practice game, concept learning game, and strategy game, and develop 43 games from 1 to 6 grade. And I design the teaching models depending on the game types and develop the teaching plans.

  • On the standards or elements of teaching evaluation, the Korea Institute of Curriculum and Evaluation(KICE) has carried out several research as follows : 1) establishment of observation elements for selecting examples of good mathematics instruction between 2001 and 2002, 2) development of the standards on teaching evaluation between 2004 and 2006, and 3) investigation on the elements of Pedagogical Content Knowledge including ‘teaching and learning methods and assesment' between 2007 and 2008. The purposes of development of mathematics teaching evaluation standards through those studies were to improve not only mathematics teachers' professionalism but also their own teaching methods or strategies. In this study, the standards were revised and modified by analyzing the results of those three studies (namely, evaluation standards) focused on the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment'. For this purpose, seventh evaluation domains such as instruction involving instructional goal and content, instruction involving problem-solving activity, instruction involving learners' achievement level and attitude, instruction on communication skills, planning of assessment method and procedure, development on assessment tool, application on assessment result in class were new established. According to those seventh evaluation domains, elements on teaching evaluation focused on the knowledge of 'teaching and learning methods and assessment' were established.

  • To meet the objectives of environmental education, teachers especially have to perceive the importance of environmental education, comprehend various characteristics of teaching/learning methods, and be able to conduct classes by choosing proper teaching/leaming methods in accordance with a specific purpose and educational focus about environmental education. Therefore, it Bs necessary to investigate the current status of Korean environmental education and provide teachers with appropriate environmental teaching/leaming methods. To this end this study aims to examine Korean science teachers'perceptions'on environmental education and the kind of teaching/learning methods which can be utilized in environmental education. Teachers who completed the survey were 135 science teachers from middle and high schools in Seoul, and 126 social science teachers from Kyoungki province. The majors of the science teachers were in physics, chemistry, biology, geology, and earth science. Also, there was one teacher who majored in special education. For social science teachers two majors were common, geography and general sociology. After analysis of the data from the surveys the results are as follows. First, science and social science teachers in middle and high school recognized the necessity of environmental education in school education. Second, most teachers had applied environment related topics to their subject of study occasionally, but they mostly concurred that environment related contents should be included in their textbooks. Third, science teachers agreed that field trip, discussion, and the STS approach were the most proper methods for environmental education, and social science teachers agreed that field trips, inquiry, and discussion were the most appropriate methods for a teaching environment. They realized that they should decide good teaching-learning methods appropriate to the objectives and content needed for effective environmental education as they selected different teaching-learning methods according to detailed environmental objectives and contents in their textbooks.

In recent days, Internet is the new field of our living, but teaching the students in elementary and secondary schools the subject of Information Ethics which purpose is to have positive attitude of utilizing Internet is not properly executed. The first step to teach Information Ethics in schools is to choose the learning elements in Information Ethics. Therefore, this paper is to choose the learning elements and re-arrange them with point of view to elementary and secondary schools. And more, in order to teach the students the learning elements of Information Ethics effectively, we propose the proper teaching methods to the learning elements by teacher's survey. The learning elements and teaching methods in Information Ethics is not the perfect guide to teach students in school, but the output of this study will be the good guide to revise the Information Ethics-related curriculums and product the textbooks about Information Ethics.

  • The purpose of this study was to prepare lesson plans, study aids and multimedia learning materials for the clothing units in TechnologyㆍHome economics of the 7th national curricula. It's also meant to utilize these materials in instruction in order to provide students with more direct and practical learning experience and make them capable of leading a successful life in the 21st century. 1. The teaching plans were mapped out for the clothing units in TechnologyㆍHome economics class for middle school grade 2, which were all covered by eight textbooks: clothing and life(the function of clothes, my attire, wearing a suit, and wearing Korean traditional dress), the preparation of garments(the type of fiber, understanding of stuff, and preparing garments), and cloth care and storage (washing, storage, alteration and recycling). 2. The lesson plans included information on the name of units, period, learning objectives, teaching environment, materials, learning content, introduction, development, remarks, topping off, announcement for next session, and related Web sites. 3. To raise the effect of education, study aids were developed to be appropriate for the units. The lesson plans and study aids for the clothing part of TechnologyㆍHome economics class for middle school grade 2 would serve to help students build the right clothing habits, and are expected to serve as good teaching materials.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of self-regulated learning ability on the relationship between experiencing a good class and problem solving ability in nursing college students. Methods: A structured self-report questionnaire was used to measure experiencing a good class, self-regulated learning ability, and problem solving ability. During June, 2019, data were collected from 130 nursing students in D city. Data were analyzed using t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical multiple linear regression with SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: Importance of good class (r=.50, p<.001), satisfaction of good class (r=.42, p<.001), and self-regulated learning ability (r=.71, p<.001) were positively correlated with the problem solving ability of participants. Also, self-regulated learning ability had a partial mediating effect on the relationship between experiencing a good class and problem solving ability. Conclusion: Considering the findings of this study, developing programs that can improve the self-regulated learning ability of nursing students who experience a good class are needed to increase their level of problem solving ability.
