PURPOSES : This research describes how to predict the life cycles of fatigue cracking based on NCHRP Report 704 as well as modified harmony search (MHS) algorithm. METHODS : The fatigue cracking regression model of NCHRP Report 704 was used in order to calculate the ESAL (Equivalent Single Axle Load) numbers up to pavement failure, based on using material parameters, composite modulus, and surface pavement thickness. Furthermore, the MHS algorithm was implemented to find appropriate material parameters and other structural conditions given the number of ESALs, which is related to pavement service life. RESULTS : The case studies show that the material and structural parameters can be obtained, resulting in satisfying the failure endurance of asphalt concrete structure, given the number of ESALs. For example, the required ESALs such as one or two millions are targeted to satisfy the service performance of asphalt concrete pavements in this study. CONCLUSIONS : According to the case studies, It can be concluded that the MHS algorithm provides a good tool of optimization problems in terms of minimizing the difference between the required service cycles, which is a given value, and the calculated service cycles, which is obtained from the fatigue cracking regression model.

This is a study on the status of color scheme of domestic office furniture. In order to pursue the planned and effective usage of color on office furniture, we investigate and analyze the status of used color based on products from four domestic office furniture companies. Once we review the definition and characteristics of office furniture, we theoretically investigate the importance of correct color planning and psychological effect based on the psychological theory as research methods. In addition, objective condition of color analysis is presented by clearly stating the color measurement which is used in this study and the NCS as analysis standards, and status of the usage of color is investigated and analyzed based on representative products from four domestic office furniture companies. Results showed that only five products which are 26.3% out of 19 products from four companies achieved a good balance based on both color harmony theories. We hope that studies to recognize the importance of usage of correct color on the office furniture, to improve the office environment and to increase the efficiency of work will be conducted continuously.

The purposes of this study were to examine if there is a relationship between elderly people's anxiety towards death and their reactions to the Star-Wave drawing, and to verify if the Star-Wave drawing was a good enough tool to measure elderly people's degree of death anxiety. The subject for this study were 307 elderly people (male 127, female 180) over 60 years of age with no physical and cognitive damage, who were residing in Geongsan city and attending colleges or welfare centers for the aged. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS WIN(ver. 12.0) program, and factor analysis, correlation analysis, Chi-square test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and $Scheff\acute{e}$ test were utilized. The results showed that factors showing different levels of anxiety towards death in the Star-Wave drawing were the total harmony of the drawing, drawing style, repetition of wave, size of the star, and location of the star. In particular, the group that drew the Star-Wave drawing with total harmony felt less anxiety towards death than the other group. Therefore, the results of this study suggested a possibility of the Star-Wave drawing to be used as a good tool that could diagnose the elderly's degree of anxiety towards death.

색채의 조화란 조형의 기본 요소인 선, 형태, 색채가 잘 어울리는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 색채 조화론 중에서 요하네스 이텐의 색채 조화론을 구현을 통하여 제시하고자 한다. 노랑, 빨강, 파랑의 1차색을 기준으로 그 사이에 혼합색인 2차색을 배치하고, 다시 1차색과 2차색 사이에 3차색을 배치하여 12색상환을 만들었다. 이 12 색상환을 인식하도록 한다. 또한 에지 추출은 Canny 연산자를 이용하여 추출하도록 하고, 레이블링 및 클러스터링을 통해 색을 표현하였다.

This study purports to review traditional health concepts of Korea by age, and to compare them to health concepts defined in western societies. Furthermore the study offers these results as the basis of construction for Korean nursing theory. Literature for the review were traditional health books published in Korea. These books are Euibangyoochui, Hyangyakjibsungbang, Dongeuibogam, Eiyangpyun, Dongeuisoosebowon, & Hwangjaenaekyung. In addition, articles that studied traditional literature or Korean medical history were reviewed when no publication of a primary source was available. In ancient Korean society, health was viewed as a 'good relationship or harmony with a supernatural subject', 'harmony of earth, water, fire, and air', and a 'long life with no illness'. The treatment aspect of medicine was emphasized in the middle-aged society. The health concepts in the pre-modern society included such concepts as 'jeongkhibojeon', 'adjustment to the nature', 'harmony between yang and yin', 'strengthening of jeongkhishin', 'circulation of owoonyookchi', 'kyungjok mind-body state' and 'jeongshimjeonghang'. Major health concepts in western literature were 'adaptation', 'role performance', 'actualization of human potential', 'adaptation and actualization of potential', and 'comfort'. Traditional health concepts of Korea focus on principles. They deliver abstract meanings, which make their measures uneasy. They believe in holism and unity with nature and especially emphasize the mental aspect. On the other hand, health concepts of western societies focus on phenomena. Their meanings are somewhat concrete, which make their measurements relatively easy. They see a person adapts positively to the environment as an independent being from the environment. These concepts have biopsychosocial aspects with no partial emphasis in the mental aspects. These traditional concepts of health were classified into two main perspectives. One is the unity of heaven & man, and the other is the unity of mind and body. The former perspective is based on the main concept of Chi. The latter has the main concept of ruling of the mind. The two main concepts discussed above need further examination for development of a nursing theory for Korean society. The application of circulation of Chi needs balance and harmony, and the application of ruling of mind needs temperance.

실세계에는 다양한 최적화 문제가 존재하고 이를 해결하기 위한 연구가 지속되고 있다. 최적화 문제는 목적 함수의 결과 값을 최대 혹은 최소로 만드는 파라미터의 조합을 찾는 문제이다. 하모니 탐색은 이러한 최적화 문제 해결을 위한 인구 기반 메타휴리스틱 알고리즘으로 재즈 음악의 즉흥 연주를 모방하여 고안되었다. 하모니 탐색은 현재 토목, 컴퓨터, 에너지, 의료, 수질 공학 등 다양한 분야의 최적화 문제에 활발히 적용되고 있다. 하모니 탐색은 동작 원리가 간단하고 제약조건이 있는 최적화 문제에서 빠르게 동작한다는 장점이 있다. 특히 경험적 도함수를 통해 해를 개선하여 낮은 반복 횟수로 높은 정확도를 보인 사례들이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 하모니 탐색의 동작 원리를 설명하고 최근 3년간 수행된 주요 연구들을 분류, 각 분류에 따라 요약 및 소개, 향후 연구 방향을 제시한다. 분류는 분야별 리뷰, 알고리즘 분석 및 이론, 실세계 문제에 대한 적용으로 나누고 실세계 문제에 대한 적용은 다른 메타휴리스틱 알고리즘과의 결합 여부, 최적화 목적에 따라 분류하여 설명한다.

Health has occupied a position of importance in the human history, whether it be in the East or in the West, and it is a subject in which people have been constantly interested. The concept of health has changed continuously as the society has developed, industrialized and become more structured. The perception of health concept can be an esential factor which is to determine the health behaviors. This study is a descriptive inquiry done to identity high school students' perception of health and what they do as health behaviors. The subject consisted of 503 voctional high school seniors, 129 boys and 374 girls, from a school located in An-san Si, kyong-gi Do. The instruments used for this study were open-ended questionnaires and data were collected by having the students fill out the questionnaires which took 10 minutes, in their first class, April 6, 1995. The collected materials were classified and recorded on the cards according to each question using the terms which students had written. After putting statements which had common meanings together, the representative categories were labelled. The results obtained are as follows. 1. Categorizing and labelling of health concepts What high school students descripted as health concepts were classified as the absence of illness, physical comfort, strong physical strength and physique, not having a deformity, resisting power, self control mental-rest(or psychological comfort), wholesome ideas, self-control, harmony in body and in mind, maintenace of daily life, pleasant life, good friends, peaceful family life and realizing objectives. 2. Categorizing and labelling of health behaviors These were classified as preventive life, good dietary habits and regimen, maintenance of clean body, exercises, preventing obesity, rest, environmental balance or control of environment, limit one's tastes, making use of leisure, peaceful mind, sound thought and regular living habits. The result indicates that the health concepts were positive and included not only absence of illness but also harmony in body and in mind and pleasant life; health behaviors which had high frequency were good dietary habits and regimen, exercises and sound thought. It is hoped that these findings well serve as practical references for teachers when they counsel with, and provide the students with guidance programs which include health care.

Generally, the esthetics is thought to mean health. On the assumption that dental esthetics must also be in harmony with general health, dental restorations have to be made in order for patients to appear to be healthy and vivacious in their mouth and result in good appearances. Therefore, I wish that patients live their life without a sense of disharmony in esthetic and biological aspect. This article is to explain some cases that manifest improvement of quality in dental treatment by means of team approach.

Cash is apt to cause a accident in circulation process regardless of a time, a place and a subject due to its particularity. I propose a good service through circulation harmony by remodeling the system of the structure of cash supply and demand. And I propose accident prevention countermeasure by removing a caxh accident by the simplification, specialization and soientification of money business. I discuss the present condition and the points of cash transportation structure in Chapter 2 and the improvement plan of cash transportation structure in Chapter 3, and conclude in Chapter 4.

상수관망의 최적설계는 절점의 최소 요구 수압을 만족함뿐만 아니라 관로비용의 최소화 등을 목적으로 한다. 상수관망 설계안의 수는 다양한 관의 배치로 인해 기하급수적으로 증가한다. 상수관망 설계에서 최적화된 설계를 제안하기 위해 다양한 최적화 알고리즘들이 적용되었다. 본 연구에서는 상수관망 최적설계에 자가적응형 매개변수를 개선한 Modified Hybrid Vision Correction Algorithm (MHVCA)을 적용하였다. 기존 Hybrid Vision Correction Algorithm (HVCA)의 Hybrid Rate (HR)를 비선형적 HR로 수정하여 성능을 개선하였다. 제안된 MHVCA의 성능을 확인하기 위해 결정변수가 2개 및 30개로 구성된 수학문제와 제약조건이 있는 수학문제에 적용하였다. MHVCA의 적용결과를 검토하기 위해 Harmony Search (HS), Improved Harmony Search (IHS), Vision Correction Algorithm (VCA) 및 HVCA와 비교하였다. 최종적으로 MHVCA를 상수관망 최적설계 문제에 적용하여 결과를 다른 알고리즘들과 비교하였다. 수학문제 및 상수관망 설계 문제에서 MHVCA가 다른 알고리즘들에 비해 좋은 결과를 보여주었다. MHVCA는 본 연구에서 적용한 문제뿐만 아니라 다양한 수자원공학 문제에 적용하여 좋은 결과를 보여줄 수 있을 것이다.
