Nuclear energy programs around the world increasingly find themselves at the nexus of potentially conflicting demands from both domestic and international stakeholders. On one side, the rapid growth in demand for electricity coupled with the goal of reducing carbon emissions calls for a significant expansion of nuclear energy. On the other, stakeholders are seeking ever greater safety, environmental, security, and nonproliferation assurances before consenting to the construction of new nuclear energy facilities. Satisfying the demand for clean energy supplies will require nuclear energy operators to find new and innovative ways to build confidence among stakeholders. This paper discusses two related concepts which can contribute to meeting the needs of key stakeholders in cost effective and efficient ways. Structured processes and tools for assessing stakeholder needs can build trust and confidence while facilitating the "designing-in" of information collection systems for new facilities to achieve maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Integrated approaches to monitoring facilities and managing the resulting data can provide stakeholders with continued confidence while offering operators additional facility and process information to improve performance.
The primary goal of this paper is to explore the microeconomic foundation of Korean firms' adoption of foreign technologies. The paper also reviews the overall trend of international technology transfers to Korea. The period covered in this paper is Korea's high growth era, from the 1960s to the 1990s. The works of this paper center on the two questions of what characterizes foreign technologies which had been imported through licensing contracts, and which driving forces expedite technology adoption by firms. The Korean experience provides the context of success in the catch-up growth. The co-movement of technology imports with capital goods imports manifests Korea's effort to improve the technical efficiency toward the world frontier. Underlying this trend are firms' decisions to adopt new technologies. The paper shows that firms respond proactively to wage increases by adopting newer technologies and thus, in turn, increasing employment, which implies the existence of a virtuous interactive mechanism among these factors.

This paper recognized a need in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry for new programs and methods of producing reliable energy simulations using BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology. Current methods and programs for running energy simulations are not very timely, difficult to understand, and lack high interoperability between the BIM software and energy simulation software. It is necessary to improve on these drawbacks as design decision are often made without the aid of energy modeling leading to the design and construction of non-optimized buildings with respect to energy efficiency. The goal of this research project is to develop a new methodology to produce energy estimates from a BIM model in a more timely fashion and to improve interoperability between the simulation engine and BIM software. In the proposed methodology, the extracted information from a BIM model is compiled into an INP file and run in a popular energy simulation program, DOE-2, on an hourly basis for a desired time period. Case study showed that the application of this methodology could be used to expediently provide energy simulations while at the same time reproducing the BIM in a more readably three dimensional modeling program. With the aid of an easy to run and easily understood energy simulation methodology, designers will be able to make more energy conscious decisions during the design phase and as changes in design requirements arise.

In order to improve business competency by the IS(Information Systems), every enterprise needs to evaluate the current level of IS performance and their utilization. The evaluation that measures the performance of enterprise information systems and diagnoses their effectiveness of business goals and efficiency of resources should represent the useful informations based on sustainable goal-oriented viewpoints to managers. This work develops an integrated evaluation system for continuous maturity of information systems performance, enabling enterprises to achieve their goals of information systems and related business strategies. The integrated evaluation system has been applied to performance measurement of information systems with a huge set of real data from domestic industries for three years, and proven reliable and practical.
A Web Crawler is a program, which is commonly used by search engines to find the new brainchild on the internet. The use of crawlers has made the web easier for users. In this paper, we have used unstructured data by structuralization to collect data from the web pages. Our system is able to choose the word near our keyword in more than one document using unstructured way. Neighbor data were collected on the keyword through word2vec. The system goal is filtered at the data acquisition level and for a large taxonomy. The main problem in text taxonomy is how to improve the classification accuracy. In order to improve the accuracy, we propose a new weighting method of TF-IDF. In this paper, we modified TF-algorithm to calculate the accuracy of unstructured data. Finally, our system proposes a competent web pages search crawling algorithm, which is derived from TF-IDF and RL Web search algorithm to enhance the searching efficiency of the relevant information. In this paper, an attempt has been made to research and examine the work nature of crawlers and crawling algorithms in search engines for efficient information retrieval.

This paper jointly investigates the bandwidth allocation, transmission strategy and relay positions for two-way transmission aware cellular networks with network coding (NC). Our goal is to minimize the transmission power of mobile terminals (MTs). Consider a cellular system, where multiple MTs exchange information with their common base station, firstly, we propose an efficient bandwidth allocation method and then give a transmission strategy for each MT to determine whether to use relay stations (RSs) for its two-way transmission with the BS or not. To further improve the system performance, the optimal positions of RSs are also jointly discussed. A GA-based algorithm is presented to obtain the optimum positions for RSs. Besides, the impacts of frequency reuse on MT's transmission power and system spectral efficiency (SE) under different number of relays are also discussed in our work. Numerical results show that the proposed NC aware scheme can extend MTs' battery life at least 6% more than traditional method.

Response Surface Method (RSM) constructs approximate response surfaces using sample data from experiments or simulations and finds optimum levels of process variables within the fitted response surfaces of the interest region. It will be necessary to get the most suitable response surface for the accuracy of the optimization. The application of RSM plan experimental designs. The RSM is used in the sequential optimization process. The first goal of this study is to improve the plan of central composite designs of experiments with various locations of axial points. The second is to increase the optimal efficiency applying a modified method to update interest regions.

The objective of this study is to improve the accuracy of damage detection using natural frequency and modal strain energy. The following approaches are used to achieve the goal. First, modal strain energy is introduced and newly GA-based damage detection technique using natural frequency and modal strain energy is proposed. Next, to verify efficiency of the proposed technique, damage scenarios for free-free beams are designed and the vibration modal tests as damage cases are conducted. Finally, feasibility of proposed technique is verified in comparison with a GA-based damage detection technique using natural frequency and mode shape.
The development goals of the next generation EMU are to improve the system maintainability, transportation capacity, reliability, passenger service and energy efficiency. In this paper, we propose a measurement scheme for the development goals of the next generation Electric Multiple Unit(EMU). To achieve that, we drew meaningful characteristics for each development goal, which mainly affect effectiveness and performance of vehicle system. Finally, the measurement scheme for the development is obtained by using the characteristics, which could be a numerical values such as maximum velocity, acceleration of the vehicle and so on or subjective values such as a results of surveys from passengers and so on. We expect the proposed measurement scheme will be used to measure the development goals of other similar system as well as the next generation EMU.

In this paper, I propose a general hypothesis that after the enactment of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOA) financial statements convey more accurate and reliable corporate information to investors who in turn reflect such improvements in stock prices and test four practical hypotheses that simultaneously feature the degree of information asymmetry, forecast bias, and investor reaction to biased earnings information. The empirical results unanimously suggest that the post-SOA investors take advantage of the improvement in informational efficiency and accuracy and actively adjust for analyst forecast bias in earnings forecasts. The SOA indeed appears to achieve its primary goal of investor protection.
