  • Fluoranthene, a common polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), exhibits phototoxicity which may affect aquatic organisms. The eventual goal of this study is to develop a biomarker of Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) used in monitoring hazardous chemicals in the ecosystem. In this study we investigated neural toxicity of fluoranthene in Japanese medaka (Oryzias latipes) along with comparative analysis of corresponding behavioral response. The untreated individuals shooed normal behavioral characteristics (i. e., smooth and linear movements). The treated fish, however, showed stopping and abrupt change of orientation (100 ppb), and severely reduced locomotive activity and enhanced surfacing activity (1,000 ppb). Treatment of the medaka fish with fluoranthene caused a significant suppresson of acetycholine esterase (AChE) activities in the body portion but not in the head portion. When fish were exposed to 1,000 ppb of fluoranthene for 24 hr, the body AChE activities decreased from 126.${\pm}$31.89 (nmoles substrate hydrolyzed per min per mg protein) to 49.51${\pm}$11.99. Expressions of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) protein in the different organs from both head and body portions were comparatively analyzed using an immunohistochemical technique. Five organs of the medaka fish showing a strong TH protein expression were the olfactory bulb, hypothalamus, optic lobe, pons and myelencephalon regions. This study provides molecular and neurobehavioral bases of a biomonitoring system for toxic chemicals using fish as a model organism.

  • In this paper we describe a development of a multi user game using 3D graphics and multicasting. First, we represent a virtual reality world by 3D graphics technology. Next, we use computer communication technology for the purpose of interaction among multi users. As a result, multi users share 3D graphics objects and play games. The goal of this paper is a development of a system that enables multi users to play games sharing a virtual world represented by 3D graphics. We use the OpenInventor library and C++ language for 3D graphics scene representation, and IP multicasting protocols for computer communication. The system allows to use Polhemus Fastrak 3D input device that recognizes the 3D position and 3D orientation. As an example we present a game that demonstrates the effect of piano concert by multi piano players who are distributed in a computer network.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between self-identity and smart phone addiction among University students. This study used descriptive cross sectional study to analyze the relationship between self-identity and smart phone addiction. Study participants included 357 University students located in C province who selected through volunteered, but 10 missing data were excluded and finally 347 participants completed the study. The study data were collected using self-identity tool made by Park A chung in 1996 which was composed of Independence, Proprioception, Future conviction, Goal orientation, Initiate, and Intimacy and Smart phone addiction tool made by National information society agency. The self-identity's Cronbach's alpha was .937 and Smart phone was .670. All data analyses were performed using SPSS 18.0. Results showed that most students were not addicted(97.1%) in Smart phone using and middle level(73.2%) of self identity. Also, there was a difference in self - identity level according to gender and grade(the ratio of smart phone general users, not at all addicted, was 90.79% for males and 98.53% for females), and there was difference in Smart phone addiction level according to gender and residence type(the ratio of Smart phone general users, not at all addicted, is 99.32% for commute, 97.04% for dormitory, and 89.66% for self governing). Also there were strongly related with self-identity and Smart phone addiction(p < .001). This results reveled that self-identity affect to Smart phone addiction, therefore it is important to raise self-identity to prevent Smart phone addiction for University students.

  • In this research we discuss an integrated actuator-control system for advanced control of a smart Shape Memory Alloy (SMA) actuator. Toward this goal, we designed and fabricated an actuator-control module combining two SMA actuating units with a single-chip microprocessor, two different sensing elements, and an actuator driver. In our proposed system, sensing elements include a 6-axis single-chip motion sensor for orientation measurement and a circuit for resistance measurement of SMA wires. We experimentally verified our proposed actuator-control system using actuator driving, sensor data readings, and communication tests.

  • This study conducted to tried to find a way of on-line assessment of learner's interest and comprehension during interactive learning process. The result of experiment confirmed hat learners' behavior patterns acquired from log data could be good predictors of learner's level of interest and comprehension in actual performance on KORI program. To predict learning outcome depending on the behaviors of individual learners, self-efficacy and mastery goal orientation were measured as individual differences. Then, participants were asked to use TA program KORI program at home for ten days and their response patterns were recorded through network. After using KORI, the levels of interest and comprehension were measured. As the result of multiple regression analysis, each learner's interest and comprehension were predicted depending on the combination of log data captured on real-time. This prediction process was done differently depending on learners' characteristics. Since equations which predict learners' interest and comprehension are different depending on learners' characteristics, differential interfaces should be provided depending upon changes in their level of interest and comprehension.

  • The ultimate goal of CSV activities is to increase consumer loyalty to the company, brand or organization concerned. Thus, for a professional sports club, CSV activities will ultimately aim to enhance the loyalty of spectators who are consumers of the club. Subjects of this study are the spectators of professional volleyball. We distributed 300 survey to people who were aware of the club's CSV activities among the home spectators of Hyundai Capital SkyWalkers. Data processing was performed using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18 for the analysis of confirmed factors, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and structural equation model analysis. From these results, we were able to come up with the social problem resolution and long-term orientation among the CSV activities of professional volleyball clubs which affect the club identification. And the identification formed within the spectators of the clubs through CSV affects the club loyalty directly or through the medium of club emotion. Professional volleyball clubs need to identify the problems the community has in planning and proceeding with CSV activities and seek strategies to address them together, and approach them from a long-term oriented perspective.
