  • There is a growing interest on Electric Vehicles due to global warming and greenhouse gas emission issue. Recently, new technologies of EV fast charging are continually being developed and power supply infrastructure technologies are being developed widely. In general, the fast charging system consists of AC-DC converter, DC-DC converter, and filters. This paper performs modeling of Electric Vehicle fast charging system using EMTP(Electromagnetic transient program).

  • A seamless analysis of material behavior incorporating complex geometry and crack- tip modeling is one of greatly interesting topics in engineering and computational fracture mechanics fields. However, there are still large gaps between the industrial applications and fundamental academic studies due to a time consuming detailed modeling. In order to resolve this problem, a numerical method to calculate an energy release rate by virtual crack closure technique was proposed in this paper. Both free mesh method and finite element method have been utilized and, thereafter, robust local and global elements for various geometries and boundary conditions were generated. A validity of the proposed method has been demonstrated through a series of fracture mechanics analyses without tedious crack-tip meshing.

  • BIM(Building Information Modeling) is an indispensable tool to secure global competitiveness in construction sector, as already adapted significantly in European countries and U.S. In particular, as considering School Buildings constructed by BTL Method, using BIM tools are required for the accurate estimation of construction cost in planning stage, exact design and construction, well-judged settlement and performance of maintenance schedule. Therefore, this study investigates the BIM education status and the problems on using BIM tools through a survey of 100 BIM trainees and suggests improvement method of BIM education.

  • In this paper we propose a new method for modeling indoor environment with stereo camera and suggest a localization method for mobile robot navigation on the basis of it. From the viewpoint of easiness in map building and exclusion of artificiality, the main idea of this paper is that environment is represented as global topological map and each node has omni-directional metric and color information by using stereo camera and pan/tilt mechanism.   • Recently, due to emerging technologies such as radio frequency identification(RFID), global positioning system(GPS), and wireless mobile communication technologies, it is possible to build up the infrastructure for tracking and tracing product logistics data at any place and at any time. However, for implementing the infrastructure, it is necessary to develop a suitable management method for product logistics data. To this end, this study deals with a resource description framework(RDF) based modeling and application method for product logistics data in the ubiquitous environment. It will give us the capability to control product logistics data, which leads to streamline logistics operations.

  • This paper presents the linearized fuzzy modeling technique of nonlinear dynamical system and the stability analysis of fuzzy control system. Firstly, the nonlinear system is partitionized by multiple linear fuzzy subcontrol systems based on fuzzy linguistic variables and fuzzy rules. Secondly, the disturbance adaptaion controllers which guarantee the global asymptotic stability of each fuzzy subsystem by an optimal feedback control law are designed and the stability analysis procedures of the total fuzzy control system using Lyapunov functions and eigenvalues are discussed in detail through a given illustrative example.

  • 제조혁신 기술로서 엔지니어링 모델링 & 시뮬레이션(이하, Eng. M&S) 기술은 제조패러다임을 바꿀 대안기술로 주목되고 있으며, 해당분야 국가수준에서의 기술정책 육성을 위해 경쟁력 분석이 우선적으로 선행되어야 한다. 이를 위해 제조업에서 Eng. M&S가 갖는 의미를 고찰하고, 기존에 정립된 특허, 논문 계량 분석 경쟁력 평가모형을 기반으로 Eng. M&s 기술적 특성을 반영한 시장 관점에서 지표를 추가하여 Eng. M&S 기술에 대한 각국의 경쟁력을 도출을 시도하였다. 또한 모형의 통계적 검증을 통해 기존 계량정보 기반 평가모형보다 다양한 정보에 의한 높은 설명력을 확인하였고, 이에 따라 추가된 시장지표의 유용성을 확인할 수 있었다. Eng. M&S 기술경쟁력 분석 결과, 한국의 경쟁력은 최고기술보유국가인 미국대비 절반 수준으로 7개 주요국 중 가장 낮게 평가되었으며, 도출된 결과를 기반으로 경쟁국들의 정책적 노력에 대해 논의하였다. 본 연구를 통해 설계역량이 현저히 낮다고 평가된 한국 제조환경에 맞는 Eng. M&S 기술 육성 정책 수립이 필요하며, 보다 근본적인 차원에서의 해당 기술 활용을 촉구하는 바이다.

Multi-Resolution Modeling Technique Using Mesh Segmentation

  • This paper presents an algorithm for simplification of 3D triangular mesh data, based on mesh simplification. The proposed algorithm is first attempt to segment the entire mesh into several parts using the orientation of triangles. Then simplification algorithm is applied to each segment that has similar geometric property. The proposed two step multi-resolution modeling scheme would yield better performance then conventional algorithm like edge collapse technique, since the segmentation step can give global information on the input shape. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is performed efficiently.
