Defense exports have overgrown in a short period, and items have been diversified with advanced high-end equipment, but exports have been stagnant due to the global economic recession and fierce competition. Weapons importers in the global market are diversified, volatility is higher, and global defense companies are also expanding their global value chain (GVC) By participating in the GVC of a global defense company, the defense SME can grow into a competitive company with specialized technology, rather than participating as a partner of a domestic system company. It is time to prepare an export promotion support plan. In this study, we selected five global companies with high value for the implementation of offset and general considerations on domestic SMEs' entry into the international parts supply chain and related cases, and investigated GVC entry requirements, the current status of cooperation partners, and the perceptions of GVC entry, through local surveys in Korea and overseas. Also, by considering the export target comprehensively, GVC stage, and the level of export competitiveness of domestic SMEs, strategies for promoting GVC participation of defense SMEs and improvements in government policies were derived and presented.

This study examines the emerging global city-regions theory and suggests its implications for regional development policy in Korea. Global city-regions defined as an economic and political organization of metropolitan regions or a new scale of urban organization with polycentric structure, is appreciated as a new regionalist model of development in the globalization era. In Korea, the application of global city-regions model is required particularly for strengthening the international competitiveness of metropolitan areas except the capital region including Seoul, and resolving inequalities between the capital region and non-capital regions. However, Institutional revolution including consolidation of Shi(metropolitan area) and Do(province), and devolution should be preceded above all things to develop metropolitan cities such as Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon toward global city-regions.

Free trade agreements have fast grown into a global phenomenon and their impact and repercussions are felt more strongly everyday. Korea, joining this large trend of the global economy, is currently pressing ahead with its negotiation rounds for FTA. In this paper, we focus on the e-commerce sector affected by the Korea-Singapore FTA, and the main issues and the future countermeasure directions of e-commerce on FTA has been analyzed. In conclusion, FTA is not an option even though there are still many remaining issues to be discussed regarding its effects. We identified countries excluding themselves from FTA are losing international competitiveness, and moreover, the losing competitiveness will end up more serious problems since the importance of FTA is especially high for e-commerce, as e-commerce accounts for a growing share of international trade. This paper also discusses the far-reaching potential consequences of the content of an international agreement at a government-to-government level on the economy and industry of a country by presenting past examples from. Korea, and recommends that policy-makers should exercise extreme vigilance in their negotiation of terms and conditions for FTA.

In thus study Hidden Champion of Europe looking for ways to global competitiveness through case study of the country's mid-sized businesses and then we hope that its innovative capacity is expected to increase. This study shows as follows that mid-sized enterprises try to develop through R&D, financial system and suitable specialized induction, etc. This means that the economy of R. O. Korea achieves the $ 2 trillion in trade area. To develope of first economy, we are trying to establishement on global industrial system, it is important to competitiveness.

As digital economy has dramatically evolved, new intellectual property rights protection has emerged as a pivotal issue which companies need to actively restxnid to. At the new digital era, the possession of new intellectual property rights determines the company values, and thus the protection of new intellectual property rights is getting more importance in the dimension of global competitiveness. The paper analyzes the changing aspect of digital economy and e-commerce paradigm, and explores the protection plan of new intellectual property rights focusing on e-commerce and digital goods transaction so that it can help the companies to strengthen their global competitiveness. After various case studies, we can find out that even though the companies have difficulty in settling out the strategies and policy due to the radical change of cycle in internet-centered digital economy, companies need to establish the systemic strategic plan to protect the new intellectual property rights stage by stage. Also, appropriate legal, institutional basis to protect the new intellectual property rights should be rearranged. The unsloved problems which relates with the protection of new intellectual property rights will be left for next research project.

As the economic volume and trade in North-East Asia have dramatically increased, the competition for dominance over the value of logistics among many developed countries has taken a new turn. The Korean government has been planning a strategy for a north-east asian logistics hub in order to increase the global competitiveness of manufacturing companies by promoting a logistics industry. However, the competitiveness of Korean logistics industry is still quite premature compared to global competitors. Taking these accounts into considerations, this study advocates that the structure of Korean logistics companies should be changed from the function of furnishing simple logistics to extending integrated logistics services. It should also shift its focus from executing domestic logistics to meeting international logistics demands and from an execution-focused service to a knowledge-intensive service. The purpose of this study is to explore effective methods for stimulating an integrated logistics industry. Some detailed guidelines and economic interpretations, based upon the results of this research, have been suggested for supporting the related legislation.

The goal of this study is to suggest policy tasks for the public library in Seoul. For this goal, researcher compared macroscopically the gap between the Seoul city and the global competitiveness city using the core index of the public library, and analyzed microscopically the level of the Seoul city and the metropolitan cities and provinces focusing on the public library infrastructure and service index. Next, researcher evaluated the public library policies by linking the "2030 Seoul City Master Plan" and the "Library and Reading Culture Revitalization Plan". Based on the results, researcher proposed branding for global knowledge culture capitals, advancement of core competencies and systems of libraries, composition of citizen centered knowledge culture ecosystem, maximization of citizen's service satisfaction and expected benefits as future-oriented policy tasks of public libraries in Seoul.

With the acceleration of globalization and economic integration, multinational enterprises are becoming more and more important in the international market, and Sinar Mas Group, one of the largest integrated companies in Indonesia, has become one of the most influential overseas Chinese companies in Indonesia due to its outstanding performance and leadership position. This study aims to analyze the success factors of Sinar Mas Group and reveal its competitive advantages in the global market. Founded in 1962, Sinar Mas Group is an integrated multinational company headquartered in Indonesia, with significant presence in various fields such as paper, palm oil, real estate, finance and energy, with operations in Indonesia and many other countries and regions around the world. This study investigates the aspects of corporate history, corporate status, and corporate competitiveness. In addition, this study analyzes the reasons for Sinar Mas Group's success using the SWOT model. By comprehensively analyzing these key factors, this paper provides readers with an insight into the vitality and remarkable achievements of this Indonesian corporate giant in the global market. This study will help Korea enter Indonesia and contribute to Indonesian business research.

For the past few years, the Korean government has been consistently expanding its national research & development budget to accelerate economic growth through technology innovation and the enhancement of international competitiveness in global markets. The objective of this paper is to define the concept and analyze the current status of national R&D programs by measuring R&D efficiencies. We determine R&D efficiency by reflecting inputs and outcomes of the five main agricultural R&D programs between 2010 to 2015, and by categorizing and regrouping figures that may affect R&D performance. Among 1,128 targeted projects, 832 projects with patents and thesis were selected for analysis in terms of measuring technology efficiency, pure technology efficiency, and efficiency of scale. Also, the Kruskal-Wallis test was also utilized as well. As a result of empirical analysis, figures that affected the efficiency level of national R&D programs included differences in research resources, research management levels and skills, and research field. This study can be utilized as a reference for re-establishing national agricultural R&D policies, such as enhancement of national technology competitiveness in the global market environment, improving and adapting to new agricultural conditions, market expansion, national agricultural R&D efficiency, aging rural population, agricultural management cost increase, and climate change mitigation.

Korean popular music industry, which is lead by "Idol group", has forsaken their fandom all over the world. Therefore, idol groups has become not only an artist but also the most influential people in the Korean economy. A global idol group with a strong fandom can earn more than a trillion-dollar by attracting their global fan's interest in Korea. In other words, it is considerably important to carry the idol to a successful conclusion. This study tries to expect whether the idols can be survived or not at a certain point after their debut by ANN, Decision Tree, Random Forest. We decide that certain point as the three-year and eight-year after their debut, because it is their break-even point year and the year after their average renewal of the contract. In addition, this study also explains which feature is the most important to their survival by feature importance and Logistic regression. In conclusion, features like the number of idol competitors, the number of debut members and the number of the genre are significant. These results shed light on the efficient management of K-Pop idol to improve industrial competitiveness.
