Objectives The aim of this study was to examine significant improvement of dizziness, gait disturbance, insomnia and xerostomia after treatment with Jowisengcheong-tang in a Taeeumin patient with olivopontocerebellar atrophy (OPCA). Methods The patient's subjective and objective symptoms were observed daily throughout the hospitalization period using global assessment (G/A), and the Unified Multiple System Atrophy Rating Scale (UMSARS) was used to assess the overall function of patient. Results The symptoms of dizziness and xerostomia decreased from G/A 100 to G/A 10~30 for five days, and the UMSARS score decreased in Part I,II. Conclusions This case showed that Sasang constitutional medicine treatment can be effective treatment method for OPCA. We consider that consistent treatment can contribute to improve the patient's quality of life.

Objectives The purpose of this case study was to report improvements of a Soeumin patient with sweating and palpitation after chemotherapy for primary central nervous system lymphoma by diagnosing and treating as Yang Depletion Symptomatology. Methods The Soeumin patient was administered Bojungikgi-tang and treated with acupuncture. Global assessment scale (GAS) was used to assess the improvements of symptoms. Results Sweating was improved to GAS 20 and palpitation was gone away after using Sasang constitutional medicine treatment. Conclusions This study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for side effects caused by chemotherapy for cancer.

Objective The purpose of this case study was to report improvements of a Soyangin patient with dysgeusia which a salty taste persisted in the mouth. Methods This patient was identified as Soyangin and treated by Yangkyuksanwha-tang-gamibang, acupuncture and moxa. Patient's symptom was assessed G/A(Global Assessment). Results and Conclusions The symptom of a lasting salty taste in the mouth was improved remarkably after using Korean medicine treatment, especially Yangkyuksanwha-tang-gamibang.

본 연구는 실수요자인 학생들의 입장에서 대학에서 제공하는 창업지원제도에 대한 인식을 파악하고자 D대학 학생을 중심으로 대학 창업지원제도의 중요도 및 성취도 차이를 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 IPA(importance-performance analysis)분석 방법을 활용하여 대학 창업지원제도의 질적인 성장과 고도화 방안을 도출하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 대학 창업교육 및 창업지원의 모든 요소에 대하여 중요도가 성취도보다 높게 나타났는데 이는 현재 대학에서 실행하고 있는 창업 교육 및 지원프로그램이 중요하다고 인지되고 있으나, 수요자(학생)에게 성취도 측면에서 크게 작용하지 못하는 것을 의미한다. 또한 중요도-성취도 매트릭스에서 가장 개선의 우선순위가 높은 요인은 「자금 및 투자지원」, 「창업 공간 및 시설지원」, 「경영 자문」, 「특허 및 지식재산 지원」, 「창업현장실습」 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구는 대학이 집중적으로 노력해야 하는 요소를 파악하고 장기적인 관점에서 창업지원제도를 수립하여 공급자 중심에서 벗어나 학생(수요자)의 요구를 반영하는 시스템을 구축·운영하는데 객관적인 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

빅테크 기업으로 불리는 글로벌 플랫폼들은 전 세계적인 규모로 성장하면서 데이터의 축적과 가격경쟁력, 네트워크 효과를 확보했다. 이로 인한 경쟁우위를 배경으로 글로벌 플랫폼이 그 위상을 더욱 강화되고 있다. 유럽연합(EU) 집행위 경쟁분과위원회는 반독점 위반을 이유로 구글에 대해 막대한 과징금을 부과하기도 하였는데 이는 구글의 미납 세금을 거둬들이기 위한 것이라 해석되기도 하였다. 실제로 글로벌 플랫폼의 편법적인 조세회피를 겨냥하여 '구글세' 형태의 과세 노력이 진행 중이다. 한편, 국내 콘텐츠 스타트업 및 중소벤처기업 등에도 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 글로벌 플랫폼의 국내 매출과 세금 규모는 정확히 측정되지 않고 있다. 구글의 경우 연구문헌에 따르면 2017년 한국 매출을 약 2조~3조원으로 추정하였으나, 구글코리아는 2021년 매출이 2,900억 원이라 신고하고 130억 원의 세금을 납부하였다. 본 연구는 국내에 큰 영향을 미치고 있는 글로벌 플랫폼의 경제적 효과를 검증하고 구체적으로 대표적인 글로벌 플랫폼인 구글의 연간 국내 매출액과 세금을 정량적으로 추정하고자 하였다. 구글에서 발간한 구글 경제 효과 관련 문건에서 제시된 수치를 기초로 구글의 연간 국내 매출과 세금을 추정한 결과, 연간 매출 4~9조 원, 세금 3,906억 원~9,131억 원의 결과를 얻었다. 본 연구는 이런 글로벌 플랫폼 기업의 국가별 과세 권한 문제를 구글이라는 구체적 사례를 가지고 추정함으로써 앞으로 전개될 디지털 경제 시대의 국가, 조세 정책 방향에 대한 기초 자료를 제공했다는 점에서 의의가 있다 할 수 있다.

Due to an increasing number of cyberattacks globally, cybersecurity has become a crucial part of national security in many countries. In particular, the Digital Pearl Harbor has become a real and aggressive security threat, and is considered to be a global issue that can introduce instability to the dynamics of international security. Against this context, the cyberattacks that targeted nuclear power plants (NPPs) in the Republic of Korea triggered concerns regarding the potential effects of cyber terror on critical infrastructure protection (CIP), making it a new security threat to society. Thus, in an attempt to establish measures that strengthen CIP from a cybersecurity perspective, we perform a case study on the cyber-terror attacks that targeted the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. In order to fully appreciate the actual effects of cyber threats on critical infrastructure (CI), and to determine the challenges faced when responding to these threats, we examine factual relationships between the cyberattacks and their responses, and we perform analyses of the characteristics of the cyberattack under consideration. Moreover, we examine the significance of the event considering international norms, while applying the Tallinn Manual. Based on our analyses, we discuss implications for the cybersecurity of CI in South Korea, after which we propose a framework for strengthening cybersecurity in order to protect CI. Then, we discuss the direction of national policies.

This qualitative case study explored seven non-certified firms' family-friendly cultures and their responses to the family-friendly certification through interviews with the human resources managers. The results from the data analysis revealed within firm's differences and a gap among those firms. In addition, their responses to the family-friendly certification were classified into three categories: a positive group, indifference group, and negative group. From the results of the firms' various family-friendly cultures and the firms' various responses to the family-friendly certification, we suggested several issues on the family-friendly certification system's improvement and the government's management and supervision of the legal requirement to ensure workers' work-life balance and the firm's autonomy plan for its' own family-friendly culture.

Purpose - This case study illustrates the story of eBay Korea, which owns two most leading Korean open market companies, AUCTION and Gmarket. The main concerns are to take over the Korean top domestic companies one by one, then, emerge these two giants through its well-developed post-merger Integration by eBay, an American multinational corporation. Research design, data, and methodology - This case explores various secondary resources such as periodicals, annual reviews, magazine, news articles, commentaries, even some interview materials related to 'eBay Korea' and industry source on condition of anonymity based on the critical reviewing of existing studies on these topics as well. Results - The findings of this study show the merger and acquisition of two market leaders in Korea is the only successful case in Asian Markets. The eBay's choice of entry mode is appropriate considering the timing, synergy and efficiency by sharing their resources. Conclusions - This study examines the successful entry and settlement process of foreign, multinational company through mergers and acquisitions in the Korean market. This would be a valuable in the studies of International Business and Global entry or distribution strategy in the e-commerce and open market dealing with M&A and its post-merger integration.

With the development of digital technology and the influence of the global pandemic, the metaverse, a three-dimensional virtual world, is receiving attention in society, economy and overall industry, and the manufacturing industry is also accepting it as a major strategic agenda for digital transformation. Therefore, in this study, the concept of the industry metaverse from the perspective of the manufacturing industry was defined, and the types of the industry metaverse were classified into four types by reflecting the characteristics of the manufacturing industry based on the general metaverse scenario presented in previous studies. These are Virtual behavior simulation, Augmented operation of business objects and Virtual experience simulation, Augmented decision of business subjects. In addition, through case analysis of solutions used in the manufacturing industry, it was confirmed that the central technology of the Industry Metaverse is the digital twin, and that it is being implemented by convergence with major digital technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality, digital human, and AI. This study will be able to provide guidelines for future research on the metaverse from the perspective of the manufacturing industry and establishment of a digital transformation strategy for the industry.

ESG is the hottest topic in recent business management or business administration. In particular, with the release of the IPCC's 6th comprehensive report in 2023, environmental issues have been further raised around the world, and ESG management for sustainable and permanent companies is accelerating by improving social and governance structures, including the environment, and thereby enhancing corporate value. This case study is analyzed based on the theory of sustainable growth, creating shared value, and corporate social responsibility. This study focuses on the case of Samsung Biologics, which is pursuing sustainable growth and management through ESG management. Samsung Biologics is the first Korean company to win the "Terra Carta Seal" award, part of a sustainable market initiative to respond to climate change, and externally, it has acquired the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, acquired the KCGS ESG comprehensive evaluation A grade, acquired the CDP B grade, and acquired the EcoVadis Gold grade. It has joined the Sustainable Market Initiative launched by King Charles III since the World Economic Forum in 2020 to chair the Supply Chain. It has joined RE100, TCFD, and UN Global Compact to lead sustainable management through ESG activities. Therefore, we would like to take a practical approach to ESG management strategies for sustainable growth through the example of this company.
