Purpose: The principal objective of this study was to evaluate the power output of ultrasound in Korean clinics and compare the value with Korean and global standards. Methods: A total of 69 units were measured for ultrasound power output. The normal range of power output level was ${\pm}30%$ of the output set according to KFDA standards. Device model, manufacturer, ERA, and BNR were obtained via simple questionnaires. A portable ultrasound power meter was used for output measurement. Results: 37 machines, with reported ERA values, were assessed for power output per unit area. Of these machines, 13 (37.14%) were considered to be compliant with US FDA standards at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, $20W/cm^2$ and 18 (51.43%) were considered within KFDA standards. The remainder of the machines were outside the standard error and evidenced irregular output levels, even though most of them were the same model. Conclusion: Appropriate ultrasound intensity is incredibly important for safety and effective use. Therefore, the KFDA standards regarding ultrasound may require revision in light of global standards, including BNR and ERA additionally, attention should be paid to regular calibration for safe use in clinical practice.

전세계는 소위 21세기 정보사회 진입을 향한 각종의 정보 기반구조 건설을 추진중에 있으며 국제표준화 기구를 비롯한 지역별, 국가별 표준화 기관들은 상호 연동환경 보장 및 적기 표준 공급을 위한 GII(Global Information Infrastructure) 표준화 추진계획을 발표하고 있다. 본 고에서는 ITU-T를 비롯한 ETSI(European Telecommunication Standards Institute), T1 Committee, TTC(Telecommunication Technology Council), GSC(Global Standards Collaboration) 등의 GII 표준화 활동현황을 기술하고, 초고속 정보통신 기반구축을 위한 표준화의 중요성 및 우리의 대응방안을 살펴보고자 한다.

Korea Global Atmosphere Watch Center (KGAWC), which is located in Anmyeondo and, belongs to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), measures sulfur hexafluoride ($SF_6$) in every hour since 2007. In this study, $SF_6$ observed in 2007 are discussed. A gas chromatograph-electron capture detector (GC-ECD) with pre-cooled device is applied during the observation, and produced data are qualified by means of periodic calibration with $SF_6$ standard gas made by Korea Research Institute of Standard and Science (KRISS). $SF_6$ has been greatly paid attention since Kyoto protocol because of its high global warming potential(GWP) with 22,200 times of $CO_2$ in the period of 100 years. It is a man-made compound and has been usually used for gas insulation since 1970s and for etching process in the information technology-based industry since 1990. Average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in 2007 was 6.65 pmol/mol at Anmyeondo. According to the GAW report published in 2008, average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in the atmosphere is continuously growing. At present, the average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in the atmosphere is known to be approximately 6.25 pmol/mol at global observatory. $SF_6$ value in Anmyeondo shows 0.40 pmol/mol greater than that of the Mauna Loa observatory in 2007.

Standards offer numerous opportunities and benefits not only to provide effective and efficient way for business goals internally, but also to increase company's competitiveness externally. However SMBs can't get have benefits from standards management due to lack of resources and awareness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the role of standard management in business hierarchy from SMBs' cases leading to raising the awareness and providing strategic implications for standards management. The utilization of Standards management was investigated by adopting Anthony framework and Miles and Snow typology targeting SMBs which have awarded the World Standards Day Prize. The results of case study indicated that standards can be used as not only a strategic tool for achieving business goal and but also an effective way for raising brand awareness in global market. This study has originality and practical value in that it enhances the awareness and provides strategic implications for standards management in global business environment.

From the beginning of 1990s, the leading countries, especially United States, are trying to develop dual-use technology which can be used for both military and commercial purpose, and to improve the efficiency of management system in logistics and procurements. Considering the global trends, Department of Defence has been seeking for solutions as to how to reform military specifications, and launched specification unification projects. As a result of the project, a series of dual-use standards for hardwares are being developed in the form of Korea Industrial Standards(KS standards). However, there are many of foreign standards, which are not readily interpretable by users, referenced in the standards. In this study, needs for the conversion of referenced foreign standards to KS standards are reviewed and the appropriate approaches as to the conversion are suggested.

The significant role of the national standards has ever been growing as a critical infrastructure of the national competitiveness. Strategic policies for the advancement of the national standards system in Korea are suggested based on the analysis of trends surrounding the national standards at home and abroad. National standards failing in securing international recognition of its technical competence give an adverse effect to the improvement of industry and national welfare. As a most effective way toward the advancement of the national standards system, the national metrology institute should be placed at the top of the national standards system so as to exert its influence with its technical capabilities close to international level. Efforts are to be made to secure international credibility of the national standards through faithful implementation of the requirements of the mutual recognition arrangement(MRA). And, the legal structures should be refined to be in harmony with the global environment.

The Third Generation (3G) cellular mobile communication systems aim at providing higher data rates, improved quality of service, support for multimedia applications and global roaming. Cdma2000 and Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) have emerged as two leading 3G standards in USA and European countries, respectively. Both the standards are capable of delivering high bandwidth data, voice and multimedia services to users of mobile equipment, but are not directly interoperableand are not available across different geographic areas, due to which global roaming is not possible in true sense of using single mobile equipment. However, both UMTS and cdma2000 are based on wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) as the access method. Due to this, there exist some inherent commonalities between them. In this paper we will try to exploit the commonalities between the two standards in order to design an ASIC, which can provide dual standard capability. This paper discusses the physical layer aspects of the two standards and proposes an approach to design an ASIC which can be mapped to baseband processing part of the physical layer and is capable of delivering for either of the two aforementioned standards.

'ISO 37001 - Anti-bribery Management Systems, one of the Business Ethics of Global Standards, is a new standard to help organizations fight bribery and promote an ethical business culture which was developed in 2016. ISO 37001 can provide the tools and systems to greatly reduce the risk and help organizations deal with it effectively if it does arise. After enforcing the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act, Korean government standardized ISO 37001 harmonizing International Standards into Korean Industrial Standards (KS) in 2017. It is meaningful in that Korean companies have localized regulation which applies to global standard anti-bribery management systems. About 100 organizations have adopted ISO 37001 as in the first half of 2019. So far many side effects of other ISO certifications have been recognized. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the current status of ISO 37001 in Korea for effective operation and management. The primary purpose of this paper is to investigate the current status and problems of ISO 37001 in Korea. It can provide useful guidelines for improving ISO 37001 to manage bribe and corruption effectively.

This paper analyzes the backgrounds of the standards for protection against electric shock in Global Technical Regulations (GTR) of Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV). Targets on research were high voltage criteria, safety current, isolation and grounding resistance, time limitation, energy, adequate clearance, and test procedure. Based on human impedance and effect of current in IEC 60479-1, safety of human was examined. Then, isolation and grounding circuit model of FCV were analyzed theoretically. The results give several suggestions: touch voltage less than 25V, AC energy less than 0.0813J, separation considering middle finger length, grounding resistance less than $0.2\Omega$, maximum AC ground voltage of 1V (rms), and isolation resistance between earth and electrical chassis. In MATLAB/Simulink environment, error characteristics of isolation resistance measurement procedure using internal DC sources were analyzed under variations of internal resistance of voltmeter and isolation resistance.
