Due to the increasing demand for and complexity of plant construction projects, unpredictable risk factors are on the consequent increase. For that reason, the quantitative risk analysis is being called for, in order for the development of a risk assessment model using risk indicators for the plant construction projects. This study used the claim payout data collected at a global insurance company to reflect the actual financial losses in plant construction projects as dependent variables in the risk assessment model. In terms of independent variables, the geographic information, i. e., landform, and the construction information including test-run, schedule rate, total cost and duration are adopted. In addition, this study suggests that the regression model containing such independent variables that are statistically significant can be applied to as a foundational guideline for the plant construction project risk analysis during the phase of construction and commissioning.

Under the global economic system, production activities has formed an international division of labor, which has greatly affected industries in individual countries by global issues such as the U.S-China trade war and neo-protectionism. In particular the risk and change of disconnection of semiconductor value chain caused by COVID-19 are evaluated as offering the crisis and opportunity at the same time to all countries participating in the global electronics industry value chain. Therefore, this study was conducted with the OECD Trade in Value Added(TiVA) based on the time when a detailed analysis of the global chain of the electronic industry is needed. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that the global value chain of the electronics industry is gradually expanding and strengthening, and that various countries are emerging as major actors in the global value chain. It was found that the U.S. and Japan are in charge of relatively high value-added activities, while Korea, Taiwan and China are in charge of low value-added activities, although they are large scale.
Purpose - The purpose of this research is to examine the differences and interaction effects of perceived risk and product attitudes between Korea and Thailand consumers in accordance with price discount and product types. Research design, data, and methodology - A questionnaire survey was conducted in Korea and Thailand. There were a total of 327questionnaires received, and 322 of them were valid. Respondents consisted of 163 Koreans and 159 Thai consumers. Each question is measured in a Likert-type five-point scale. To verify the difference and interaction effects of perceived risk and product attitudes, ANOVA analysis was carried out. Results - This research found that the perceived risk of Thailand consumers in accordance with price discount and product types is confirmed to be larger than Korean consumers. The difference of product attitudes of Thailand consumers is higher than those of Korean consumers. Thus, product attitudes in accordance with country type and price discount types are verified with the interaction effect. The difference of product attitudes in accordance with price discount type and product types are not founded. The main effect was not verified. Conclusions - The finding of this study can be used as useful information to Korean and Thai retailers looking to enter the global market.

Recently, due to the effect of global warming, the high temperature phenomenon continues, and the time for workers exposed to high temperature, cold and infrared is increasing and then safety is threatened. Due to the nature of on-site work, the work is being carried out in an unreasonable manner due to the process, which is exposed to disasters due to high temperature and cold. Even though the injured skin may be damaged, the worker may not be aware of it and may be injured. By understanding the working environment of the worker and calculating the risk index and expressing it on the helmet, the surrounding colleagues inform the worker of the risk and take appropriate measures so that the accident can be prevented in advance. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of exposure duration on the workers' by measuring the exposure time, the risk index is displayed in the form of a traffic light to the helm, informing neighboring workers and managers, and transmitting to the workers by voice.

Background and main issue: In the Korean insurance market, an outstanding issue is the decrease of margin of risk ratio. This affects the solvency and profitability of insurance companies. Insurance medicine, which has been developed in Western countries, is so-called medical risk selection or medical underwriting. Medical risk selection is based on clinical follow-up study and mortality analysis methodology. Unfortunately, there have been few clinical follow-up studies, and no intercompany disease analysis system is available in the Korean insurance market. In practice, we use underwriting guidelines, which were developed by some global reinsurance companies. However, these guidelines were developed under clinical follow-up studies performed abroad. So, we cannot rule out underestimation of excess mortality factors such as mortality ratio, excess death rate, and life expectancy. It is necessary to perform medical assessment in claims administration. Comparing the insured's statement by medical records with products' benefit according to this procedure, we can make sound claim decisions and participate in the role of sound underwriting. We can call this scientific procedure as the verification of medical claims review. Another area of medical claims review is medical counsel for claims staff. Result: There is another insurance medicine in addition to medical risk selection. Independent medical assessment by medical records of insured is medical claims review. Medical claims review is composed of verification and counsel.
The Outsourcing Industry has grown at a swift pace and evolved over time, and the Global IT Outsourcing market has shown signs of a steady growth. In the Korean financial industry, however, IT Outsourcing is not active as that of the advanced countries and there is lack of literature to understand the characteristics of IT Outsourcing in the financial industry. This paper, therefore, analyze the outcomes surveying 40 financial companies in Korea to investigate how IT Outsourcing risk factors affects IT Outsourcing intention. Based on our literature reviews based on number of key articles, journals, and the focus group interviews, IT Outsourcing risk factors are proposed into four different domains: Transaction, Client, Vendor and Environmental perspective. It found that two risk factors (Client and Environmental perspective) are closely related to the IT Outsourcing intention of the Korean financial industry. Finally, this paper concludes that concrete SLAs (Service Level Agreements) of the clients and support of government agencies are important to mitigate the IT Outsourcing risks.

International construction projects are exposed to various and complicated risk factors stemming from different political, economical, social, and cultural backgrounds, which make contractors entering into international construction to experience severe losses. It implies that overseas markets do not necessarily secure the high return, which is typically expected to in the high risky attempts. Accordingly, contractors need to evaluate various risk factors faced with overseas construction projects that can possibly aggravate the profitability. This paper aims at establishing a valid groundwork for further research on developing the integrated risk management model. For this end, it analyzes the long-term trend of profitability on total of 3,487 projects performed by Korean global contractors in world-wide construction markets during the last four decades. Then, it investigates the possible factors/causes of bad profit that have affected the profitability significantly through the structured surveys of 90 real overseas projects based on the project-specific information and experiences of Korean contractors in overseas markets. Furthermore, it analyzes relative importance of these factors/causes and identifies the important features expected for the risk management of international construction projects. Finally, vital distinctions between success and failure projects and lessons learned to improve profitability are then distilled.
The arena of strategic competition between the US and China is expandable from international politics, trade and commerce to finance. What would happen if financial sanctions against China are imposed by the US? Would US financial sanctions lead to a sudden outflow of foreign capital and a liquidity crisis in China? We try to address these questions by estimating China's capital flows-at-risk with the CDS premium on Chinese sovereign funds. We follow Gelos et al. (2019) in setting up a quantile regression model from which China's foreign capital flow-at-risks are estimated. Based on our analysis of China's monthly capital flow data, we find that a rise in the CDS premium has statistically significant negative impacts on China's foreign capital flows-at-risk, mainly in banking flows. However, the analysis also found that due to favorable global conditions, an increase in the CDS premium is unlikely to trigger a shift to a sudden outflow of foreign capital at the moment. Meanwhile, this study found no statistically significant correlation between Korea's capital flows-at-risk and the CDS premium, suggesting that the negative impact of US financial sanctions on China would not increase the probability of capital flight from Korea in a significant manner.

In this paper, we present a standard model of livestock epidemic service in the field of smart livestock, which is emerging as an important issue in smart agriculture. By using the network to identify the global livestock epidemic disease risk and provide relevant models to service users, it is expected that it will actually provide economic benefits to livestock owners and ultimately help the national livestock industry economy. In order to apply the standard livestock epidemic service standard model and the livestock infectious disease crisis mitigation standard model sharing method that is presented in conjunction with ICT to the standards in the domestic and international agricultural and livestock industries in the future, continuous research will be carried out.
Due to the global business environments and severe competitions, SMEs have carried out IS projects for their competitive advantages. However, numerous organizations have faced with difficulties in the IS project management such as large amounts of IT expenses and uncertainties in project implementations. Thus, this study is intended to discover critical risk factors in the IS project management. To achieve this research goal, we have mailed questionnaires to SMEs and SI companies that experienced IS project failures and 63 usual data were collected. The result of analysis with step wise regression showed that 6 factors are related with IS project failures. The study contributes to the literature in two ways. First, this paper empirically identifies IS risk factors for SME manufactures. Second, this research result can be utilized as a checklist for the successful IS implementations. Limitations and future research topics are also discussed.
