The purpose of this study was to develop a music teacher training program for global citizenship education and explore its effects on the participants' capacity for global citizenship. The program focused on multicultural education, including diversity and tolerance, among various topics in global citizenship education and consisted of practice to develop lesson plans for middle school music classes as well as theory about music in diverse sociocultural environments. The results showed that this program positively affected the participants' attitudes about a music teacher's role in the multicultural classroom. This program enabled participants to identify and reflect on any prejudice they may have against diversity and multiculturalism and to consider the role of music teachers in multicultural learning environments. The program also helped the participants develop greater self-efficacy as music teachers in multicultural environments and see music as a symbolic expression and a social and cultural product. Finally, the participants showed their positive attitude toward transformative pedagogy and considered various topics in global citizenship education beyond diversity and multiculturalism through multilateral understanding and exploration about music based on theory and practice in global citizenship education.

This study is a convergence study to understand the impact of political efficacy, political interest, and global citizenship on political participation. Participants were 3rd and 4th grade 155 nursing students. The data were analyzed t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation and multiple regression. The result is that factors influencing the political participation were political efficacy(r=.27, p=.001), political interest(r=.42, p<.001), and attitude in global citizenship(r=-.24, p=.003). The higher political interest(β=.37) and political efficacy(β=.21), the lower the Global citizenship_Attitude, the higher political participation. A total of 25.7% of political participation was explained. In order to increase political participation, the results suggest it is necessary to political education for enhancing political interest and efficacy.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the educational implications of global citizenship and regional identity in geographic education of multicultural society. Geographical education inquires into places and region on local, regional, national and global scales. Geography studies geographical representation of ethnical, cultural, political diversities of human societies. Therefore geography is a very proper subject for multicultural education. Geography has also inherent legitimacy on multicultural education in the viewpoints that space or region has valued inherent nature which is constructed by human experience, perception and response etc. Citizenship in multicultural education requests some abilities and attitudes of world citizens superior to state or nation oriented citizenship. However the education of world citizenship doesn't mean abandonment of regional identity in geographical education. Citizenship is based on geographical units which have their territories. Regional identity is the feeling of belonging as a member of a certain region, and is formed not only by race, ethnic, gender, political and social position but also by thought of nature, landscape, national identity, regional dialect, and historical context, etc. The regional identity in multicultural society means the homogeneity which includes the heterogeneity of diverse groups, and has a key which solves the conflicts of diverse groups in the region. Consequently multicultural education in geography would focus on the cultivation of regional identities which are founded on critical thinking to solve the conflicts of multicultural society. The geographic education in multicultural society would rather emphasize on region than on race or nation, and can integrate the global vision of world citizenship with the diverse viewpoint of multicultural education.

The purpose of this study was to investigate preservice teachers' understanding of democratic citizenship. This study utilized the democratic citizenship frame to assess 17 participants' comprehension of this concept. The researcher designed a method course where participants in groups analyzed science activities to identify democratic citizenship components. Through the analysis of two science activities-one on energy and the other on climate change-and the development of science panels addressing various global issues, preservice teachers' understanding of democratic citizenship was enhanced. Preservice teachers showed a good understanding of critical thinking, communication and collaboration, and STS (science, technology, and society); and the most enhanced understanding of empathy, which was the least perceived in pre-survey, component of democratic citizenship. The democratic citizenship frame proved to be a valuable tool for teaching and learning this topic, particularly when applied to socioscientific issues in the classroom. More research-based revisions of the science curriculum are necessary, and more systematic practices with reflections are essential in teacher education.

The purpose of this study is to explore directions for achieving therapeutic and social well-being effects through intercultural citizenship education in language classrooms. To accomplish this, we first clarified the concepts of education as healing, social well-being, and intercultural citizenship education. Subsequently, through the analysis of reflective journals on the writing and peer review processes written by university students, we discovered manifestations of key concepts of intercultural citizenship, such as empathy, recognition, connection, discovery of new knowledge, and attitude change. Based on these insights, we proposed the perspective that addressing the concept of intercultural citizenship in Korean language education can be beneficial for language education as a form of healing and for social well-being. Furthermore, we suggested that future language education should evolve from instruction focused on the interpretation of symbols and functional proficiency to practices that empower learners as members of global society, allowing them to assign value to their lives and build healthy relationships with others.

The purpose of this study is to analyse the ethical basis of two influential global citizenship idea - Rawls' liberal approach and cosmopolitan republicanism - as a theory on global justice. In the aspect of deontology, Rawls' view has the limit not to reflect reciprocal obligation and duty on civil right in the era of economic globalization that inequality has been structured. But cosmopolitan republicanism has the basis of deontological justification because advocates the realization of anti-domination principle at global level. In the aspect of utilitarianism, Rawls attempts to justify the logic rejecting redistribution intra nations. But cosmopolitan republicanism has the potential to decrease maleficence at global level and to increase utility level through overcoming the structured sacrifice of the citizens of developing countries.

Scholars suggests global citizenship education(GCE) as an important direction for the future education. Although many academic discussions have been internationally going on, the studies in Korea are still on the beginning stage. Thus, it is asserted that studies for GCE should be proceeded more actively and widely, especially for a theoretical background because it might give a concrete direction for GCE. In the international trend, studies suggest that GCE should be discussed among post-modernism, post-colonialism, and critical theory as theoretical framework. So, this study purports to find a theoretical framework which represents those three. It is critical pedagogy (CP) which also includes educational values for GCE. The reason is because CP tries to achieve emancipation in terms of consciousness, reason and rationality through educational praxis and it should be a background for GCE in terns of current situation in the world. Therefore, this study asserts and tries to prove that CP is currently at the center of theoretical backgrounds for GCE.

Although the need for global citizenship education (GCE) has been emphasized globally, Korea lacks GCE for child welfare workers who affect children's global citizenship. In response, this study analyzed the reality of educational needs by (a) investigating domestic and international GCE policies, (b) doing the in-depth interviews with experts, and (c) surveying workers. According to the policy analysis, GCE in Korea has been mainly conducted through the school system but it was conducted in various ways worldwide. The need to expand GCE in Korea was also emphasized in the in-depth interview. The survey analysis showed that the path relationship among awareness-interest-desire to participate in GCE was significant, indicating that increasing awareness and interest for GCE was effective in real action. Based on this, we confirmed that GCE is a necessary education for child welfare workers, emphasized the need to raise awareness of GCE based on the AIDA model, and presented indicators that can be used for GCE.

Buyers' Trust in suppliers is critical in all commerce, but particularly in the relationship between foreign provider and local consumer due to the liability of foreignness. This study examines (1)how local consumers trust in the product of MNCs is affected by their perceptions of the product attributes, (2)does the product trust affects customers loyalty, and (3)whether Global Corporate Citizenship moderates the relationship between the product attributes and trust. Based on previous researches, hypotheses are formulated and the statistical method used to test them was a moderated regression analysis using SPSS 20. 330 respondents from the university student group in Korea were used for this analysis. The results of this study are follows: Service communication and product perceptions such as quality, technological newness, design, and brand value have a significant effect on the product trust. The Effectiveness of product-related service communication had greater than that of the physical characteristics of product. But, price fairness is not significantly. The trust then has a positive relation to customers loyalty. When global corporate citizenship as the moderating role is introduced into the model, the interaction terms with 'price fairness' are verified to be significant. Therefore, global corporate citizenship moderates the relationship between price fairness and product trust. The results of the empirical study provide important implications for Korean firms operating in foreign markets. But, the findings are limited to the University students and to manufacturing sectors. Thus, the generalization of the results of this research remains limited.

This article intends to examine the value of the world citizenship in the perspective from the root meaning that is stressed as the behavior style of Daesoon thoughts in relation with 'desirable attitude of life in education of morality. Traditional root meaning of Daesoon thoughts turned out to be proper moral behavior principle such as Yin Yang harmonious virtue, God Humane keeping unity, and conviviality with regrets settlement. Such three principles of Daesoon Thoughts show the characteristic of global code such as respect of life, solidarity unity, and tolerant trust. To revise the phenomenon of duality, and to realize the human awakening in radically changing reality, we need to cultivate world citizenship based on the root meaning of Daesoon thoughts. Daesoon thoughts covering the East and the West, especially the key features of religion, can cultivate the world view of citizenship in the era of plural society based on folk beliefs toward Gucheon Sangje faith as the essence of the multiplism. The world citizenship of human society is necessary to unite the world in the unified construction cooperative spirits. All beings need to be away from antagonistic confrontation with the practice of mutual conviviality. The diameter of acquired joining world citizenship can have the opportunity to realize of Gucheon Sangje's Heaven and earth construction. The root meaning of Daesoon thoughts can contribute to moral practicality with world citizenship by practice of heavenly truth and human truth. First, cultivating heavenly truth by means of insight can develope the profound world citizenship. Secondly, the solidarity of the public and private can cultivate public citizenship. Thirdly, in the crisis of the mankind, this awakening conviviality can be foundation for world citizenship of public communication. Fourthly, the spirit that would not deceive ownself can be contributed to cultivating the world citizenship by means of the process of internalizing Daesoon thoughts. Nowadays in the plural society demanding world citizenship, the public citizenship can deepen the spirit of respect of life, solidarity unity, and tolerant trust in the process of world citizenship cultivation. In the future, the world citizenship can be deepen the alternative of practice in the continuous cultivation of world citizenship. In this process, we can form the culture of coexistence which can contribute to human society as well as korean society by developing the value of living together happiness through the guide of this phonesis.
