스테레오 컴플렉스를 이용한 폴리유산 복합재 제조 및 성능 개선 (Preparation and Performance Improvement of Polylactic acid based composites by stereocomplex)

  • 폴리-L-유산 (PLLA)/폴리-D-유산(PDLA)의 스테레오컴플렉스(SC) 특유의 결정 거동은 PLLA/PDLA의 블렌드의 특정한 용융 조건에서 나타난다. 이를 적용하여 PLA 스테레오컴플렉스를 제조하기 위해 전반적인 조성에서 PLLA와 PDLA를 블렌드 하였다. 또한 충격 강도와 열변형온도 같은 기계적 물성 및 열적 특성을 향상시키기 위해 충격보강제, 탈크와 유리섬유(GF) 등의 보강제를 첨가하였다. 그 결과로 열변형 온도가 $115^{\circ}C$ 에서 관찰 되는 조성의 복합재를 제조하였다. 더 경제적인 방법으로, PLLA와 상용화된 폴리프로필렌(PP)을 전반적인 조성에서 블렌드 하였다. 그 결과, 특정 조성에서 상용화된 PP/탈크 복합재와 ABS에 적용시킬 수 있는 물성을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과는 PP와 PLLA같은 매트릭스 수지에 유리섬유 및 충격보강제를 잘 분산시키는 것에서 기인하는 것으로 판단된다.

마이크로 프로브 기반 열전 센서 제작 기술 (Fabrication of a Micro-thermoelectric Probe)

  • 마이크로 수준에서의 온도측정을 위하여 유리 피펫 기반의 프로브형 온도센서를 제작하였다. 이를 이용하여 정밀도 ${\pm}$ 0.1 K 를 가지는 온도측정 보정 실험을 수행하였다. 본 연구에서 제작한 방식은 저온의 용융점을 갖는 솔더합금(Sn)을 피펫에 내부에 주입하고 외부에 니켈(Ni) 코팅을 하여 열전대를제작함으로써 저비용의 프로브형 온도센서를 구현하였다. 제작된 센서 팁 끝단의 지름은 5 Am 에서 30 Am 로 피펫을 가열하여 당기는 방식으로 프로브 끝단의 크기를 조절하였다. 제작된 온도센서는 챔버내에서 정밀하게 제어된 온도 조절기를 사용하여 보정하였으며, 이를 통하여 얻어진 열전계수의 범위는 8.46 에서 $8.86{\mu}V$/K 의 값을 얻었다. 이를 이용하면 MEMS 소자, 세포, 티슈 등의 바이오 소재의 온도 및 열특성 측정용 프로브로 활용할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

Sm 농도에 따른 무연 3상 유리계의 합성과 물리적 성질 (Synthesis and Physical Properties of Sm Doped Pb Free 3 Phase-Glasses)

  • Glasses were prepared with compositions of $(13-x)BaO-80B2_O_3-7Li_2O{\cdot}xSm_2O_3$, BBLSx(x=0.5, 0.4, 0.3) by melting the starting materials of boron oxide(99.9%), lithium oxide(99.9%), barium carbon oxide(99.9%), and samarium oxide(99.9%) and then quenching the melt at $1350^{\circ}C$. This led to good-quality BBLSx(x=0.4, 0.3) and poor-quality BBLSx(x=0.5) glasses. The physical and structural properties of the BBLSx glasses were studied by means x-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy(SEM), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and dielectric spectroscopy. From the x-ray diffraction and SEM results, the quality of the BBLSx glasses significantly depends on the $Sm_2O_3$ concentration. The x-ray diffraction pattern showed that the crystallites in the BBLSx glasses after heat treatment at $700^{\circ}C$ may be $LiBaB_9O_{15}$. From the DSC results, the glass transition temperatures($T_g$), crystallization temperatures($T_c$), and the maximum temperatures of the crystallized($T_p$) BBLSx glasses all changed with the $Sm_2O_3$ concentration. According to the dielectric spectroscopy results, the values of the real dielectric constant and Tan ${\delta}$ of the BBLSx glasses depended on the $Sm_2O_3$ concentration. The values of the real dielectric constant and Tan ${\delta}$ were also shown to depend on the measuring temperature, possibly due to the ion migration in the bulk of the BBLSx glasses.

Thermal stability, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of Gd55Co35M10 (M = Si, Zr and Nb) melt-spun ribbons

  • The thermal stability, magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of $Gd_{55}Co_{35}M_{10}$ (M = Si, Zr and Nb) melts-pun ribbons were studied. The relatively high reduced glass transition temperature ($T_{x1}/T_m$ > 0.60) and low melting point ($T_m$) resulted in excellent glass forming ability (GFA). The Curie temperatures ($T_C$) of melt-spun amorphous ribbons $Gd_{55}Co_{35}M_{10}$ for M = Si, Zr and Nb were 166, 148 and 173 K, respectively. For a magnetic field change of 2 T, the values of maximum magnetic entropy change $(-{\Delta}S_M)^{max}$ for $Gd_{55}Co_{35}Si_{10}$, $Gd_{55}Co_{35}Zr_{10}$ and $Gd_{55}Co_{35}Nb_{10}$ were found to be 2.86, 4.28 and $4.05J\;kg^{-1}K^{-1}$, while the refrigeration capacity (RC) values were 154, 274 and $174J\;kg^{-1}$, respectively. The $RC_{FWHM}$ values of amorphous alloys $Gd_{55}Co_{35}M_{10}$ (M = Si, Zr and Nb) are comparable to or larger than that of $LaFe_{11.6}Si_{1.4}$ crystalline alloy. Large values of $(-{\Delta}S_M)^{max}$ and RC along with good thermal stability make $Gd_{55}Co_{35}M_{10}$ (M = Si, Zr and Nb) amorphous alloys be potential materials for magnetic cooling operating in a wide temperature range from 150 to 175 K, e.g., as part of a gas liquefaction process.

Synthesis and Properties of Oxygen-bridged Aromatic Polyesters Based on Isomeric Naphthalenediols

  • Six aromatic polyesters with ether-linkages were prepared from 4,4'-oxybis(benzoic acid) and naphthalenediol (ND) isomers which were 1,4-, 1,5-, 1,6-, 2,3-, 2,6- and 2,7-derivatives. The solution viscosity numbers ranged from 0.23 to 0.65 dL/g. The glass transition temperatures ranged from 142 to 179$\^{C}$. The initial decomposition temperatures were all above 400$\^{C}$, and the residue weights at 600$\^{C}$ were in the range of 50-64%. Only the polyesters derived from 1,5- and 2,6-NDs, which have a linear linking mode, were found to be semicrystalline and could form thermotropically nematic phase. Multiple melting phenomena and annealing of the polyester derived from 1,5-ND and related polymers are described. The experimental results show that the polyester derived from 1,4-ND of linear shape was amorphous and non-liquid crystalline. Particularly, the polyester derived from 2,3-ND could form a smectic mesophase as banana-shaped molecules, and this is ascribed to the C/sub_2v/ symmetry where highly kinked molecules are packed in the same direction.

비정질 $As_{40}Se_{50-x}S_{x}Ge_{10}$ 박막의 구조특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Structure Properties of Amorphous $As_{40}Se_{50-x}S_{x}Ge_{10}$ Thin Film)

  • In this paper, we analyze the structure characteristics of $As_{40}Se_{50-x}S_{x}Ge_{10}$ system bulk and thin films. As the results of XRD patterns, it identified amorphous state. In order to find the glass transition temperature($T_g$), crystallization($T_c$) and melting point ($T_m$)of bulk sample, it ascertained that TS1gT is 238$^{\circ}C$ in $As_{40}Se_{15}S_{35}Ge_{10}$, and 231$^{\circ}C$ in $As_{40}Se_{25}S_{25}Ge_{10}$ & $As_{40}Se_{50}Ge_{10}$ following the thernal analysis by DSC, DTA, & TGA method. Also it was confirmed the phase seperation of continuous phase and dispertion phase by the optical texture of polarizing microscope and $T_g$ near 20$0^{\circ}C$ in thin film. Therefore, it was found that it occurs the phase seperation of Ge-rich dontinuous phase and Se-rich dispersion phase following the EDS analysis of thin film and the surface SEM photograph.

폴리에스터섬유의 제전성 및 결정화 거동 (Antistatic Property and Crystalization Behavior of Polyester Fiber)

  • 축중합조에 제전제를 첨가하여 중합한 폴리에틸렌테레프탈레이트(PET)의 제전성과 결정화 거동에 대하여 연구하였다. 제전제 성분중 폴리에틸렌글리콜(PEG) 성분에 의해 제전 PET의 유리전이온도와 용융 온도가 낮아졌다. 제전PET의 결정화속도는 결정화온도가 감소함에 따라 억제되었다. 제전PET의 열적성질과 결정화 거동은 제전제 성분중 알킬나트륨설포네이트 보다는 PEG 함량에 영향을 받았다. 따라서 제전성은 발현하는 주요 성분은 PEG였다. 알킬나트륨설포네이트는 제전폴리에스터 폴리머의 용융점도를 향상시키는 역할을 하는 것으로 판단된다.

전기기기의 발열을 고려한 다단계 가속열노화 방법 (Multi-phase Accelerating Test Method of Thermal Aging Considering Heat Generation of Electric Equipment)

  • Thermal aging test is performed to qualify the life time of equipment in thermally aged condition. Due to long life time more than 10 years like as in power plant, the equipment is subjected to the accelerated thermal aging condition which is able to shorten the long aging test period by increasing aging temperature. Normally, conservatism of thermal aging test causes to impose unbalanced and excessive thermal load on components of the equipment, and deformation and damage problems of the components. Additionally, temperature rise of each component through heat generation of the electric equipment leads to long-term problem of the test period. Multi-phase accelerating aging test is to perform thermal aging test in multiple aging conditions after dividing into groups with various components of equipment. The groups might be classified considering various factors such as activation energy, temperature rise, glass transition temperature and melting temperature. In this study, we verify that the multi-phase accelerating aging test method can reduce and equalize the thermal over load of the components and shorten aging test time.

  • Poly (ethylene terephthalate) (PET)와 Poly (1, 4-phenylene terephthalate) (PHT)의 copolyester (PEHT)를 PHT 반복단위의 함량이 30mo1% 미만인 범위에서 용액중합으로 합성하고 이들의 물성을 조사하였다. PEHT 중 PHT의 함량이 증가함에 따라 유리전이 온도, 결정화 속도, 내열성은 증가하고, 녹는점은 감소하였다. PHT 반복단위 함량이 16.5, 24.9 mol %인 경우 액정성을 관찰할 수 있었으며, PET 반복단위와 PHT 반복단위에 의한 결정이 혼재함을 광각 X-선 회절로부터 관찰하였다.

Second-order Nonlinear Optical Properties of Amorphous Molecules Based on 5-(4-Diethylamino-benzylidene)-1,3-dimethyl-pyrimidine-2,4,6-trione

  • Two coupled molecules were successfully synthesized by condensation of amine-donor-substituted barbituric acid derivativies as nonlinear optical chromophores. A flexible spacer of the alkyl chain with different lengths of carbon chains (5 and 6 carbons) was introduced between two chromophores, which prevented crystallization and aggregation of molecules. Two coupled molecules (B-Cn-B, n=5, 6) had glass-transition temperatures on a second heating around 81 and 76$^{\circ}C$ without melting points, respectively. To explore the linear optical properties, thin-films were prepared and examined by a photometry method using Nd:YVO$_4$ CW laser. Also, microscopic and macroscopic nonlinear optical properties were measured by Hyper-Rayleigh Scattering (HRS) and the Maker Fringes method using Nd:YAG ps pulse laser, respectively. In spite of the moderate hyperpolarizabilities of coupled molecules, the second order NLO coefficient (d$\_$33/) was larger than the conventional Disperse Red 1 doped PMMA polymeric system.
