In this work, the indium zinc oxide (IZO) films had been deposited on the glass substrate coated with the SiO film. Based on a comparative investigation of the IZO monolayer and IZO/SiO multilayer, it is shown that the thickness of SiO film has a great effect on the mechanical properties of the thin films. The AFM images of the IZO thin film included the SiO film were shown smoother surfaces than monolayer. Resistivity was in inverse proportion to Mobility. If it deposited the SiO film on the substrate, the layer of change was generated between two layer(SiO and substrate). The layer of change influenced resistance because of oxygen content was more than the IZO monolayer.

In this paper, Schottky barrier thin-film-transistors (SB-TFTs) with platinum silicide at source/drain region based on glass substrate were fabricated. Poly-silicon on glass substrates was crystallized by excimer laser annealing (ELA) method. The formation of pt-silicide at source/drain region is the most important process for SB-TFTs fabrication. We study the optimal condition of Pt-silicidation on glass substrate. Also, we propose this device as promising structure in the future.

We present investigations of the surface micromachining for transparent glass substrate, e.g. soda lime glass using tightly focused 800nm Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser. In this study, experiment conditions such as laser intensity, scanning speed, focus position were controlled as variable parameters to decide optimal machining conditions. This study shows clearly that laser intensity and scanning speed are dominant factors for good surface morphology. Using the optimal conditions, grooves with 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ line width were fabricated on glass substrate and their surface morphologies were investigated from SEM image.

The most important factor in enhancing the performance of an optical device is to minimize reflection and increasing transmittance of light for a broad wavelength range. The choice of appropriate coating material is crucial in decreasing reflection losses at the substrate. The purpose of this review is to highlight anti-reflection coating (ARC) materials that can be applied to silicon solar cell and glass substrate for minimizing reflection losses. The optical and electrical behavior of ARC on a substrate is highly dependent on thickness and refractive index (RI) of ARC films that are being deposited on it. The coating techniques and performance of single and multi-layered ARC films after coated on a substrate in a wide range of wavelength spectrum will be studied in the paper.

For the evaluation of nucleation and growth behaviors influenced by substrate properties, such as surface energy, structure and electrical properties, chromium nitride films (CrN) were deposited on various substrates (glass, AISI 1040 steel and Si (110) by unbalanced magnetron sputtering. X-ray diffraction and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) were used to study the microstructure and grain growth as a function of deposition time. The diffraction patterns of CrN thin films deposited on Si (110) exhibited crystalline structure with highly preferred orientation of (200) plane parallel to the substrate, whereas the films deposited on glass and AISI 1040 exhibited preferred orientations (200) and minor orientation (111), (311) or (220) plane. The orientation of films deposited both on glass and Si substrates did not depend on the bias voltage (Vs). The grain growth and structure of film deposited on AISI 1040 steel substrate are strongly influenced by the substrate bias in comparison with that deposited onto glass and Si substrates. The differences in the structure and grain growth of CrN films deposited onto different substrates are predominantly related to the properties of the substrate (structure and electrical conductivity).
Lights that enter the surface of a solar cell cannot be absorbed inside all of the solar cells, and some of it is reflected off the surface of the substrate, resulting in loss. Because of this, many studies are underway to reduce reflective losses on the surface of substrates or to steam the generated charge inside the solar cell. In this paper, surface treatment for forming a rough surface by wet etching the surface of a glass substrate is advanced, and structural characteristics of the rough surface are analyzed. Then, spectral characteristics by changing the angle of the glass substrate to which light enters the company are analyzed. When the light entering the company is investigated on a etched surface, it is confirmed that the probability of re-absorbing the light inside the glass substrate by multiple reflection is increased. When entering the light while changing the angle of the glass substrate, the transmission and reflection performance of the light are not changed.
Glasses in the system $CaO-TiO_2-SiO_2-Al_2O_3-ZrO_2-B_2O_3$ were investigated to find the glass seal compositions suitable for use in the planar solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC). Glass-ceramics prepared from the glasses by one-stage heat treatment at $1,000^{\circ}C$ showed various thermal expansion coefficients (i,e., $8.6\times10^{-6^{\circ}}C^{-1}$ to $42.7\times10^{-6^{\circ}}C^{-1}$ in the range 25-$1,000^{\circ}C$) due to the viscoelastic response of glass phase. The average values of contact angles between the zirconia substrate and the glass particles heated at 1,000-$1,200^{\circ}C$ were in the range of $131^{\circ}\pm4^{\circ}$~$137^{\circ}\pm9^{\circ}$, indicating that the glass-ceramic was in partial non-wetting condition with the zirconia substrate. With increasing heat treatment time of glass samples from 0.5 to 24 h at $1,100^{\circ}C$, the DC electrical conductivity of the resultant glass-ceramics decreased from at $800^{\circ}C$. Isothermal hold of the glass sample at $1100^{\circ}C$ for 48h resulted in diffusion of Ca, Si, and Al ions from glass phase into the zirconia substrate through the glass/zirconia bonding interface. Glass phase and diffusion of the moving ion such as $Ca^{2+}$ in glass phase is responsible for the electrical conduction in the glass-ceramics.

Glass texturing is a sufficient method for changing the surface morphology to enhance the light trapping. In this study, glass texturing was applied to the perovskite solar cell for improving the current density. Glass substrates (back-side glass of FTO coated glass substrate) were textured by randomly structure assisted wet etching process using diluted HF solution at a constant concentration of etchants (HF:H2O=1:1). Then, the light trapping properties of suitable films were controlled over a wide range by varying the etching time (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 min.). The surface texturing changed the reflected light in an angle that it can be reflected by substrate glass surface. As a result, Current density and cell efficiency were affected by light trapping layer using glass texturing method in perovskite solar cells.
Dense glass-ceramics for low firing temperature substrate were prepared by addition of CeO2 flux to the glass of MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 system. Glass powders were fabricated by melting at 150$0^{\circ}C$ and ball milling. Glass powder compacts were sintered at 800~100$0^{\circ}C$ for 3h. The crystallization and the shrinkage behaviors of glass powder compacts were analyzed by XRD, DTA and TMA. The shrinkage of glass powder compact increased with increasing the amount of CeO2. Because the softening temperature decreased and the crystallization temperature increased with increasing the amount of CeO2. Apparently, addition of CeO2 prevented formation of $\mu$-cordierite phase from the glass-ceramics and improved formation of $\alpha$-cordierite phase. Therefore crystallization properties were enhanced.
We designed new compositions for lead free and low temperature sealing glass frit of $ZnO-V_2O_5-P_2O_5$ system, which can be used for PDP (Plasma Display Panel) or other electronic devices. The $ZnO-V_2O_5-P_2O_5$ system can be used as a sealing material at temperatures even lower than 430$^{\circ}C$. This system, however, showed lower bonding strength with glass substrate compared to commercialized Pb based sealing materials. So, we added $TiO_2$ as a promoter for bonding strength. We examined the effect of $TiO_2$ addition on sealing behaviors of $ZnO-V_2O_5-P_2O_5$ glasses with the data for flow button, wetting angle, temporary & permanent residual stress of glass substrate, EPMA analysis of interface between sealing materials and glass substrate, and bonding strength. As a result, sealing characteristics of $ZnO-V_2O_5-P_2O_5$ system glasses were improved with $TiO_2$ addition, but showed a maximum value at 5 mol% $TiO_2$ addition. The reason for improved bonding characteristics was considered to be the chemical interaction between glass substrate and sealing glass, and structural densification of sealing glass itself.
