Synthesis of Acrylic Pressure-Sensitive Adhesive by Emulsion Polymerization (유화중합에 의한 수성 아크릴계 접착제의 합성)

  • In order to analyse the properties of the fiber-adhesive that was used as Flocking process we synthesized quaterpolymer with the variation of the types of monomer ratio by emulsion polymerization. We characterized the properties of this adhesive: Differential Scanning Calorimeter(DSC), Thermogravimetry Analysis(TGA), Raman spectroscopy. The polymer was synthesized by changing the using amount of 2-EHAM, and then we investigated the characteristics of glass transition temperature(Tg), melting temperature(Tm), thermal stability and hydroxyl group respectively. The optimum monomer composition was 36.84% EAM, 15.79% MAM, 42.1% 2-EHAM and 5.26% AAc.

Durability Performance Evaluations on Resistance to Chloride Attack for Concrete Using LCD Waste Glass Powder (LCD 폐유리 미분말을 사용한 콘크리트의 염해내구성 평가)

  • In this study, we evaluated the feasibility and performance of LCD waste glass as a replacement for cement by using LCD waste glass powder which is generated from manufacturing process due to development of LCD industry. Experiments were carried out by replacing 10% and 20% cement of LCD waste glass with particle size of $12{\mu}m$ of LCD waste glass with OPC and particle size of $5{\mu}m$, respectively. Through experiments, basic properties, mechanical properties and durability of concrete were evaluated. Experimental results show that the compressive strength is high at 10% replacement ratio compared to 20%. The lower the particle size, the higher the strength. The durability test evaluated the chloride penetration performance through the chloride ion diffusion coefficient. The higher the substitution rate and the smaller the particle size, the lower the chloride ion diffusion coefficient and the better the OPC than the all substitution rate. As a result, LCD waste glass concrete with low granularity and proper replacement ratio is considered to be advantageous for durability under salt environment.

  • The operation of KTX in Korea has launched since 2004, which brought about a great change in railroad industry. We have acquired lots of great know-hows, especially in railroad construction and operation field. Therefore, we have been building up numerous operation skills until now. However, it was necessary to investigate some of the equipment based on our own environment because the high speed train system were totally imported. In case of Toughened Glass Stem Insulator, it was totally new type in domestic. This paper introduces estimation method and result in three different field aspect, such as an electrical field, a physical field, and environmental circumstances. First, in case of an electrical field, amplitude and a number of time for switching surge voltage data were collected. Second, in case of a physical field, amplitude and trend of vibration in to the insulator were examined. Finally, in case of environmental circumstances, flying possibility of gravel and ice clod were investigated. Also shrink and expend characteristic according to temperature were reviewed. Through this basic data, suitability for Toughened Glass Stem Insulator using in domestic high speed railway have been accumulated and estimated.

Reconsideration of Film Music with Repetitive Rhythm Characteristics - Focusing on the Aesthetic and Functional Meaning of Philip Glass's Film Music - (반복적인 리듬 특성을 지닌 영화음악의 고찰 - 필립 글래스(Philip Glass)의 영화음악에 관한 미학적, 기능적 의미를 중심으로 -)

  • This study studied five major films from the 1980s to the 2000s when Philip Glass's minimal music was used, and studied the aesthetic and functional meaning of the minimal music. Minimal music has a repetitive rhythm and is understood to be aesthetically monotonous, to avoid a particular purpose, or as an expression of moveless. On the one hand, it can mean infinite persistence by repetitive rhythms, or sometimes repetition with subtle changes. The functions of film music were applied as the function of film music common to many theorists. As a result of the analysis of the music in five films, the aesthetic meaning of Philip Glass's minimal music was most relevant to the characteristics of the film story, and the functional meaning of the film music was determined by the structure, form, and genre of the film. Therefore, the theme of the film and the contents of the story played an important role in the aesthetic interpretation of film music with repetitive rhythm characteristics. And the elements of the plot such as the structure, form, and genre of the film are thought to have had a significant effect on the functional interpretation of the film music. The aesthetic value of the film music is closely related to the story of the film, and the functional meaning of the film music is interpreted as determined by the formal elements of the film.

A Study on the Performance Improvement of ta-C Thin Films Coating on Tungsten Carbide(WC) Surface for Aspherical Glass Lens by FCVA Method Compared with Ir-Re coating (Ir-RE 코팅 대비 자장여과필터방식을 이용한 비구면 유리 렌즈용 초경합금(WC)표면의 ta-C 박막 코팅 성능 개선 연구)

  • The demand for a low dispersion lens with a small refractive index and a high refractive index is increasing, and accordingly, there is an increasing need for a releasable protective film with high heat resistance and abrasion resistance. On the other hand, the optical industry has not yet established a clear standard for the manufacturing process and quality standards for mold-releasing protective films used in aspheric glass lens molding. Optical lens manufacturers treat this technology as proprietary information. In this study, an experiment was conducted regarding the optimization of ion etching, magnetron, and arc current at each source and filter part, and bias voltage in FCVA (filtered cathode vacuum arc)-based Ta-C thin film coatings. This study found that compared to iridium-rhenium alloy thin film sputtering products, the coating conditions were improved by approximately 50%, 20%, and 40% in terms of thickness, hardness, and adhesive strength of the film, respectively. The thin-film coating process proposed in this study is expected to contribute significantly to the development and utilization of glass lenses, which will help enhance the minimum mechanical properties and quality of the mold-release thin film layer required for glass mold surface forming technology.

  • It is important to keep a constant transmittance of dielectric during firing. To control the shrinkage and fusion stage of frits in firing, we used a hot stage microscope (HSM) to analyze the thermal properties of the lead and bismate glass frits by the in-situ method. This research would be useful for improving the reliability of transmittance of dielectric during firing in industry using a large furnace with temperature deviation.

  • Epoxy resins are widely used as high performance thermosets in many industrial applications, such as coatings, adhesives and composites. Recently, a lot of research has been carried out in order to improve their mechanical properties and thermal stability in various fields. Carbon nanotubes possess high physical and mechanical properties that are considered to be ideal reinforcing materials in composites. CNT-reinforced epoxy system hold the promise of delivering superior composite materials with their high strength, light weight and multi functional features. Therefore, this study used multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) and gamma rays to improve the mechanical and thermal properties of epoxy. The diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) as epoxy resins were cured by gamma ray irradiation with well-dispersed MWNTs as a reinforcing agent and triarylsulfonium hexafluoroantimonate (TASHFA) as an initiator. The flexural modulus was measured by UTM (universal testing machine). At this point, the flexural modulus factor exhibits an upper limit at 0.1 wt% MWNT. The thermal properties had improved by increasing the content of MWNT in the result of TGA (thermogravimetric analysis). However, they were decreased with increasing the radiation dose. The change of glass transition temperature by the radiation dose was characterized by DMA (dynamic mechanical analysis).

  • In this study, estimate of Mechanical Properties depending on Injected direction in Polymer for Automobile Application. The used materials is polyamid(nylon6), polypropylene(PP) of a simple component and its mixed, reinforced glass fiber(15%) in polyamid. One side direction of a simple component is highest strength and the two sides direction of multicomponent appear lowest strength. This is caused by effects of weldline, imperfect fusion and impregnation of multicomponent. To improve mechanical properties, it is necessary to minimize of weldline, compatibility, perfect fusion and impregnation in multicomponent polymer.
