Objectives : This study was performed to report the effect of Giungoroen-therapy based on song psychotherapy in the treatment resistant patient with psychosomatic disease. Methods : A 43 year-old female patient suffered from headache, facial numbness, right upper and lower limb's numbness, ptosis, chest discomfort, dysarthria without identifiable physical cause. We diagnosed her as psychosomatic disease, and tried to apply Giungoroen-therapy with Korean traditional medical treatment. But she was resistant to Giungoroen-therapy. So we applied Giungoroen-therapy based on song psychotherapy. Results : After the Giungoroen-therapy based on song psychotherapy, the patient revealed her unrecognized hidden issues and got some insights about herself. Then the symptoms, such as headache, facial numbness, right upper and lower limb's numbness, ptosis, chest discomfort and dysarthria were reduced considerably. Conclusions : These results suggest that Giungoroen-therapy based on song psychotherapy can be effective on improvement of resistant psychosomatic disease.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to report the effectiveness of the combination of Giungoroen-therapy, as well as other Korean medicine therapy on postoperative delirium. Methods: The patient was diagnosed with postoperative delirium, that occurred after arthroscopic debridement two months before hospitalization. The patient received Giungoroen-therapy in addition to conventional Korean Medicine treatment, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and moxibustion. The evaluation variables to check the effectiveness of the interventions, were the Korean Nursing Delirium Screening Scale (Korean Nu-DESC) and the Korean Version of the Delirium Rating Scale-Revised-98 (K-DRS-R-98). Results: During the hospitalization period, the Korean Nu-DESC score decreased from 5 to 1, and the K-DRS-R-98 score decreased from 36 to 23. The subjective expression of anxiety had been reduced. Conclusions: The combination of Giungoroen-therapy, as well as other Korean medicine therapy including acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine may be useful in alleviating postoperative delirium.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of insomnia treatment applied with Giungoroen-therapy in relieving adhesive capsulitis. Methods: There is a patient who has had insomnia symptoms for 2 years ago and complained of shoulder pain from 5 months ago. Korean medicine treatment like acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine and Giungoroen -therapy was applied to this patient. As evaluation tools, the numeral rating scale(NRS), a tool for pain evaluation and the Insomnia Severity Index(ISI), a sleep quality evaluation tool, were used. After 12 days of treatment, the range of motion of the shoulder joint increased and the NRS score improved from 8 to 5 and the ISI score improved from 22 to 16. Conclusion: For the treatment of adhesive capsulitis, it can be effective to relieve insomnia by applying Korean medicine treatments, including Giungoroen-therapy.

Enuresis is caused by complex reasons. Especially the secondary enuresis is influenced by psychological factor. As a medical care to enuresis, therefore, psychological therapy is highly appraised and oriental medicine psychological clinic is also recognized as an important therapy. IiGyeungByunQi-therapy is a psychological therapy that a doctor changes emotional status of a patient by using various methods. Giungoroen-therapy is another psychological therapy that promotes patient's recognition of disease and will to cure it through conversation. This paper reports the case that child enuresis is satisfactory cured through IiGyeungByunQi and Giungoroen therapy.

Panic disorder with agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder in which there are repeated attacks of intense fear and anxiety, and a fear of being in places where escape might be difficult, or where help might not be available in case of a panic attack. We experienced a 39 year-old man who had Panic disorder with agoraphobia from recent onset and whose condition was improved through oriental medical treatment. We treated the patient with Herbal medications and Giungoroen (至言高論)-wise saying and lofty opinion) and Gyeongjapyeongji (驚者平之)-mental stress must be eased with tranquilizers) and Relaxation therapy. Giungoroen is psychological therapy that promotes patient's recognition of disease and will to cure it through conversation. Gyeongjapyeongji is desensitizing the unease. Relaxation therapy is the use of muscular relaxation techniques in treatment. This result suggests that oriental medical treatment has good effect on Panic disorder with agoraphobia.

통제적이고 강압적인 부모의 양육태도로 유발된 내면의 불안 및 갈등이 '항문의 이상 감각'이라는 신체화 증상으로 상징화되어 표출된, 전환장애로 의심되는 7세 여환아(女患兒)에게 한약(韓藥)치료와 더불어 지언고론요법(至言高論療法)을 적용하여 약 2개월간 치료하였다. 지언고론요법(至言高論療法)은 한의학 정신요법 중 하나로 현재 임상에서 행해지고 있는 지지적 정신치료 및 행동치료와 유사하다. 의료진은 이를 본 증례의 환아(患兒)에게 2개월간 적용하여 증상이 80%이상 소실되는 긍정적인 치료 결과를 얻을 수 있었다. 아동의 심리 발달과정에서 부모의 양육태도 등과 같은 중요한 심리 환경적 요인들이 부적절하여 아동의 내면에 갈등이 생기면 심인성의 신체증상이 유발되기도 한다. 이는 전환장애의 심리기제와 매우 흡사하다 할 수 있다. 그러므로 아동의 심인성 신체 증상을 치료하는 장면에서, 우선 성장 환경의 문제점 혹은 환아(患兒)의 성격 기질적 특성을 정확히 파악하고 그에 따라 지언고론요법(至言高論療法)등과 같은 한의학 정신요법을 이용해 적절한 치료적 개입을 한다면 이른 시간 안에 효과적인 치료가 가능할 것이다. 본 증례는 그 좋은 예라 사료된다.

Psychogenic vomiting (七情吐) is the disease of vomiting due to seven emotions that joy, anger, melancholy, anxiety, grief, fear and terror being the response of the mind to the environmental stimuli. We experienced a 21year-old man who had a psychogenic vomiting due to maladjustment in a military life, and whose condition was improved through oriental medical treatment. We treated the patient with Herbal medications and Giungoroen (至言高論)-wise saying and lofty opinion). Giungoroen is psychological therapy that promotes patient's recognition of disease and will to cure it through conversation. After being treated, the patient showed that symptoms (vomiting, nausea, abdominal discomfort, insomnia, a depressed mood, a feeling of uneasiness) was improved considerably. Tills result suggests that oriental medical treatment bas good effect on psychogenic vomiting due to adjustment disorder.

Jeon-zeong(癲證) is mostly caused by anxiety and melancholy, impairment of heart and the spleen, or stasis of phlegm-Gi and heart confused by phlegm. Its manifestation are characterized by depression, expressionlessness, inclination for quietness, self muttering and hallucinating, caprice in crying and laughing, paraphasia, loss of appetite, unawareness of filth and cleanness, etc. We experienced a 50year-old man who bad brief psycbotic disorder that specified with Marked Stressor and whose condition was improved through oriental medical treatment. We treated the patient with Herbal medications and Giungoroen (至言高論)-wise saying and lofty opinion) and Relaxation therapy. After being treated, the patient showed that symptoms (insomnia, anxiety, depression) was improved considerably. This result suggests that oriental medical treatment has good effect on brief psychotic disorder due to Marked Stressor.

Objectives: In order to overcome psychotherapeutic problems though the theory of oriental medicine by means of the Giungoroen(至言高論-wise saying and lofty opinion). Methods: This research was done by comparing the contents of psychotherapeutic ancient clinical document with the western medical method of psychotherapy Results: 1. Inquire into the clinical document, the psychotherapy is used treatment of wide area disease inclusive of neuropsychiatric disease different from the western medicine. 2. Inquire into the method of psychotherapy, the supportive psychotherapy and behavior therapy is applied. 3. In case of psychotherapy and treatment of medicines is done at the same time, treatment of medicines followed psychotherapy. 4. A viewpoint of Yusic(唯識-vijnaptim-atra)-a field of Buddhism, possibility of psychotherapy is showed. 5. A doctor's oriental thought and oriental medical Preservation of Health view was based. 6. The change of patient's the emotion and will is focused than disease itself. Conclusion: When western medical method of psychotherapy is complemented by a oriental thought and oriental medical Preservation of Health view, the good effects is hoped in psychotherapy.

Objectives: The objective of this study is to report the effectiveness of Korean medicine therapy on Psychologic tremor patients with MCVT. Methods: Korean medicine therapy including MCVT, herb, acupuncture, and psychotherapy are applied to psychologic tremor patients. Vas and AIMS are used as assessment tools to evaluate the effects of therapy. MCVT is a traditional Korean medicine technique usually for chronic diseases. Similarly, autogenic training by J.H.Schultz and Giungoroen-therapy was conducted as psychotherapy. Results: In case 1, the patient lost all symptoms from vas10 to vas0, while in case 2, symptoms of the patient decreased from vas10 to vas3. Additionally, there was a significant decrease in the AIMS measurement score for both patients. Psychotherapy helped to reduce depression and anxiety. Conclusions: Psychologic tremor can be treated using Korean traditional medicine such as MCVT, Sosiho-tang and psychotherapy.
