중학생에서 휴대폰의 중독적 사용 정도와 사회.심리적 특성 (Middle School Students' Addicted Use of Cellular Phone and their Psychosocial Characteristics)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to describe the state of middle school students' addicted use of a cellular phone and their psychosocial characteristics and to examine differences in psychosocial factors as impulsivity, stress, anxiety and classroom attitudes according to the level of addiction. Method: As the subjects of this study, 747 middle school students who use a cellular phone in B Metropolitan City were selected through stratified random sampling, and they were asked to answer a self-administered study questionnaire. Data were analyzed using frequency, descriptive statistics, $x^2-test$, t-test, and one-way ANOVA. Results Among the respondents, 15.7% fell into the addicted user group while 56.0% fell into the dependent user group and 28.3% turned out to be non-addicted users. The levels of impulsivity, stress and anxiety were higher in the addicted user group than in the dependent user group and the non-addicted user group. The addicted user group also showed a very bad learning attitude. Conclusion: Addiction to the use of a cellular phone, which may have negative influences on the users' psychosocial characteristics, needs to be detected earlier, and preventive education should be offered in order to prevent such addiction.

청소년의 신체활동 강도가 비타민 D 결핍에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Strength of Physical Activity on Vitamin D Deficiency among Korean Adolescents)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the association between physical activity and vitamin D deficiency status among Korean adolescents. Methods: This is cross-sectional analysis of Korean adolescents aged 10-18 years from the 5th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES 2010-2012; n=2,384). We estimated the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency and identified the correlations with the strength of physical activity. $x^2$ test, t-test, and multiple logistic regression using complex sample analysis were done. The odds ratio of vitamin D deficiency by physical activity was calculated using complex sample multivariate logistic regression analysis. Results: The prevalence of vitamin D deficiency was 78.2%. The mean serum 25 (OH) D level in deficiency group and non-deficiency group was 14.4ng/mL, 23.7ng/mL respectively. Differences by age strata (the prevalence ranging from 68.5% to 86.3%) and gender (78.6% for boy and 84.5% for girl) were identified. Among adolescents aged 16-18 or girl in vigorous physical activity, a significant correlation between vitamin D deficiency and physical activity was observed, whereas no significant correlation were found among adolescents in moderate physical activity. Conclusion: In conclusion, vigorous physical activity was associated with vitamin D deficit in Korean adolescents. Thus, intervention programs enhancing vigorous activity than moderate activity need to be developed in schools and community.

  • In this study, we examined the relationship among Multiple Intelligence constructs and the relationship among the sub-areas and analysed the development of the Multiple Intelligence according to age and gender to evaluate Korean children's Multiple Intelligence structures that teachers evaluated based on MIDAS-MYC. The subjects of the study consisted of 158 4-5 year old children (71 4-year-old group(boy 38, girl 33); 87 5-year-old group(boy 40, girl 47)) in Seoul and Gyeonggi. We found several results which are as follows. 1) Reliability on each area of intelligence in MIDAS-MYC was good. 2) The result of confirmatory factor analysis using the model of structural equation modeling was consistent with the results of other studies that children's Multiple Intelligence consists of eight intelligent areas that are independent to each other but are relative to each other. In particular, interpersonal-intrapersonal intelligence, languistic-intrapersonal intelligence, languistic-Interpersonal intelligence, and languistic-logic/math intelligence were high correlation. However, physical/motion-naturalist intelligence and musical-logic/math intelligence were low correlation. 3) Children's multiple intelligence differed according to age and sex, the 5-year-old was higher than 4-year-old and girls were higher than boys in a general way. 4) There was high correlation between the result of evaluation based on MIDAS-MYC and the result of teacher's subjective evaluation about children's Multiple Intelligence.

과학반 활동이 초등학교 여학생들의 과학 태도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Science Club Activity on Science-Related Attitudes of Female Elementary School Students)

  • 이 연구는 과학탐구 및 체험활동을 기반으로 하는 과학반 활동이 초등학교 여학생들의 과학태도 변화에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그리고 과학반 활동의 효과를 지역별로 나누어 분석하였다. 이 연구를 위해 제주지역 세 개의 초등학교에 있는 4~6학년으로 구성된 과학반을 실험집단으로 선정하였다. 과학반은 남학생과 여학생의 비율이 1:1이 되도록 구성하였다. 비교집단은 같은 학교, 학년의 여학생으로 구성하였다. 비교집단은 교과외 과학 활동을 하지 않았고, 실험집단은 10개월간 교과외 과학반 활동을 하였다. 사전과 사후에 실험집단과 비교집단에 과학태도 검사를 실시하였고, 검사 결과는 비모수통계 중 윌콕슨 대응표본 부호순위 검정으로 처리하였다. 연구 결과, 과학반 활동은 여학생들의 과학태도 뿐만 아니라 과학태도의 하위범주인 인식, 흥미, 과학적 태도에도 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 여학생들의 거주 지역에 따른 과학태도의 변화를 하위범주별로 알아 본 결과, 인식에서는 중소도시와 읍면지역에 거주하는 여학생 모두에게서 긍정적인 효과가 나타났으나, 흥미와 과학적 태도에서는 읍면지역 여학생에게서만 긍정적인 효과가 나타났다. 이는 과학태도에 대한 효과가 지역별로 차이가 있고, 중소도시보다 읍면지역 여학생에게 더 큰 효과가 있음을 의미한다.

여고생 통학복의 착용감과 생리반응에 관한 연구 (The Wearing Sensation and Physiological Responses in School Wear in the High School Girl's)

  • The subjects in this research were 368 girls in high school for survey, and wearing sensation and physiological responses were investigated through wearing trials on human body in climatic chamber based on these results from the survey. The results are as follows : 1. They enjoyed wearing t-shirts, jackets, vests, and blouses in order for the upper clothes, and they preferred t-shirts to blouses. For the lower clothes, they enjoyed slacks much more than skirts. The weight of clothes was significantly heavier in the group where they wore the uniforms(U-group) than in the group where they wore the free styles(F-group). When they chose the school wear, activity was the most important of all, and the maintenance was the least. 2. As the classes were a little cool and dry, most of them dissatisfied the environment. The degree of the satisfaction of the class environment and properties to it were higher in the U-group than in F-group. 3. In the textiles, colors, styles, activity, static electricity, seasonal property, and easiness of putting on and taking off the clothes, F-group was more satisfied than U-group. U-group was more satisfied than F-group in the soil of the clothes. 4. The thermal comfort, thickness, and tightness of the clothes were not significantly different between the groups. The clothes of U-group was heavier than those of F-group, and the tactile sensation in U-group was worse than F-group. In U-group the students felt the skirts very inconvenient when they acted. 5. The weight of the clothes influenced the wearing sensation, therefore the heavier the clothes were the less satisfied they felt. 6. The inside temperature of clothes was significantly higher in U-group than in F-group. The skin temperatures of abdomen and arm were significantly higher in U-group than in F-group, while the skin temperatures of thighs and legs were significantly lower in U-group than in F-group. U-group felt heavier than F-group in wearing the clothes. Therefore the improvement of the clothes weight is needed.

여자고등학생의 월경기 자가관리 교육 프로그램의 효과 (Effects of Menstrual Self-management Education Program on Knowledge and Behavior of Menstrual Self-management in High School Girls)

  • Purpose: To examine the effect of menstrual self-management education program on knowledge and behavior of menstrual self-management in high school girls. Methods: With a randomized controlled trial, 100 high school girl students were randomly assigned into experimental group and control group. Menstruation self-management program was consisted of a total of four sessions of education program (1 hour of education per session). Control group only received the first class of education. Measurement tools were 20-item menstrual knowledge scale and 12-item women's genito-urinary hygiene scale. Pretest and post-test questionnaires were administered. Results: There were significant differences in menstrual knowledge as well as menstrual self-management behavior between the two groups. The experimental group showed significant improvement in both menstrual knowledge score (t=13.37, p<.001) and menstrual self-management behavior score (t=8.38, p<.001) than the control group. Conclusion: Results of this study suggest that the monthly self-management education program is effective in increasing the knowledge of menstruation of female high school students and enhancing their performance. This program needs to be implemented as a part of high school's standard sex education. Further study is needed to analyze follow-up effects of the program on self-management behavior of students after at least one menstrual cycle.

여고생 니트웨어 교복의 착용 실태 및 선호도 분석 (Analysis on the Actual Wearing Conditions and Preferences of the Knit Wear School Uniforms of High School Girls)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the actual wearing conditions and the preferences of knit wear school uniforms. The subjects were 480 high school girls from 6 high schools placed in Daejeon. The method of study is a survey consisted of actual wearing conditions questionnaires, preferences questionnaires, and demographic attribution. Data was analyzed by frequency, variance, crosstabs, and correlation analysis using SPSS 12.0 program. The results of study are as follows. First, high school girls over 90% wearing knit wear school uniforms were satisfied with current knit wear school uniforms(navy color, V-neck, and wool mixed). Second, high school girls preferred 100% cotton material and black/white/gray color group. The style of knit wear school uniforms was most preferred monochrome cardigan with cable pattern. High school girls wanted to show neat image by knit wear school uniforms and to diversify the style of them. Third, the differences of preferences between groups, they were wearing knit wear school uniforms(A group) or not(B group), were about pattern and improvement. A group preferred school mark pattern, and wanted to improve the quality and after service. B group preferred monochrome cable pattern, and wanted to diversify the style. Both groups wanted to wear knit wear school uniforms because knit wear was 'warm' and 'comfort'. Consequently, knit wear school uniforms will help high school girls express individuality and beauty.

오형근 초상사진 분석 (Analysis on Oh, hein-kuhn's Portrait Photograph)

  • 오형근은 우리나라를 대표하는 초상사진가이다. 여성의 초상을 다룬 <아줌마>, <소녀연기>, <화장소녀>는 과거 초상사진이 인물의 외양을 묘사한 것과 조금 다른 모습을 보인다. 작가는 인물의 겉모습과 더불어 '가정과 사회' '아이와 여성' 중간에서 갈등하고 불안해하는 내면의 모습을 표현하였다. 즉 비슷한 사진을 반복적으로 보여주면서 아줌마와 소녀 인물군 전체가 내뿜는 특정 아우라(aura)를 담아내, 우리는 '아줌마'와 '소녀'를 보고 알게 된다. 오형근 초상사진의 중요한 기법은 이미지의 '반복'이다. 작가는 인물을 정면에서 똑바로 응시하고 비슷한 프레임의 사진을 반복적으로 보여주면서 사진의 의미를 전달한다. 이러한 작품의 형식과 내용은 증명사진처럼 매우 단순해 자칫 지루하게 느껴질 수도 있다. 그러나 흘러가는 시간과 이동하는 공간을 표현한 영상보다 고정된 자리에서 움직임 없는 액자 속의 사진은 작품의 의미를 더욱 명확히 전달해, 우리는 오히려 작가가 전달하려는 메시지를 빨리 파악할 수 있다. 이미지 변형이 주를 이루는 사진 제작 환경에서 정통 오리지널 작업방식의 오형근 작품은 단연 눈에 띈다. 아줌마와 소녀의 초상을 통해 작가는 우리 사회의 한 단면을 이야기하고 우리는 그가 만든 초상을 통해 현실을 재확인한다.

고등학생들의 성문화 (A Study of Sexual Attitudes and Opinions for 10th Grade Students in Co-Ed)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this research is to identify and understand sexuality in 10th grade co-ed students in Seoul, Korea in order to construct practical curriculum for sex education for youth. Method: One-hour class per week was done to the 3 classes among 6 classes for Spring semester in 1999: small group discussion(for 3 classes) & questionnaires(6 classes) were taken. Results: Despite the increased number of sex education programs, peers apparently remain the major source of information and the counselor of their sexual problems. The rate of correct answer of the sex knowledge is still low, especially on biological aspects of opposite sex. Western culture and women's movements have changed our society. In turn, sexual sterotypes and roles have been changing. Small group discussions were taken after the classes of pregnancy, abortion and unmarried parents. Their opinions on maintaining virginity were collected. The condition of choosing spouse and boy/girl friend is quite different in many aspects.

A New Species of Leptostrobus from the Upper Triassic Amisan Formation of the Nampo Group in Korea

  • Leptostrobus myeongamensis sp. nov. is newly described from the well-preserved but broken material occurring in the Upper Triassic Amisan Formation of the Nampo Group in Korea. This species is characterized by its lateral appendages of cone axis, each consisting of a rounded capsule and small scale leaf, and by its cone base covered with small scale leaves, the same size as in cone axis. This species is the first record from the Mesozoic strata in Korea.
