Ground source heat pump system; GSHPs is close to most practical use for early stage investment cost and energy efficiency in new renewable energies, and currently considered utilizing to the heat and cooling system of a building. Particularly, the case to utilize 'Standing Column well heat source gathering method' in the open standards process to have the excellent capability of gathering geothermal source is increased. But the research for the optimal design technology and the assessment of a pollution level of the ground to utilize a single well for gathering geothermal is insignificant and the design is insufficient. The heating and cooling system and the equipment to utilize a large size residential development to have over 1000 households have not developed yet. Therefore, our company developed 'geothermal hybrid system' which can construct the heat and cooling system using geothermal energy for a large size residential development of over 1000 households and conducted the evaluation of economic feasibility. Moreover we developed automatic equipment for gathering geothermal source and PLC (Programmable logic controller) to have optimal efficiency and FCU (fan coil unit) considering the floors of large size apartments.

The objective of the present study is to investigate the load delivery characteristics of a hybrid-renewable energy system with geothermal and solar heat sources for hot water, heating and cooling of a residential house in Korea. The hybrid energy system consists of ground source heat pump of 2 RT for cooling with a 150 m vertical U-bend ground heat exchanger, solar collectors of 4.8 m2 and gas fired backup boiler. The averaged coefficient of performance of geothermal module during cooling and heating seasons are evaluated as about 4.5 and 3.8, respectively.

This study proposes a hybrid geothermal system combined with heating mode and snow-melting mode for winter season in order to increase the annual operating efficiency of the GSHP(Ground Source Heat Pump). The purpose of this study is to get effectiveness of the hybrid geothermal system by the site experiments. In case of snow-melting only mode, the GSHP COP is 0.7 higher than system COP in average. And in case of hybrid mode, heating GSHP COP is 0.5 higher than snow-melting GSHP COP. And it is also found out that all COP obtained through measurement periods is higher than nominal COPs given by GSHP manufacturer. As a conclusion, it is clear that the proposed hybrid geothermal system is expected as a highly efficient system.

In this study, comparative analysis of energy performance in Taebaek city, a test area, by applying hydrothermal, geothermal source and hybrid heat pump system to office, school and smart farms with different internal heat loads. The conclusion is as follows. In the load characteristics by use of buildings, it was found that office had a large cooling load compared to heating load, school had a large heating load compared to cooling load, and smart farm had only cooling load year-round. Performance analysis of the heat pump system in office shows that the cooling COP of the hydrothermal source is 5.12% and the heating COP is 3.22% lower based on the geothermal source, the cooling COP of the hybrid is 0.41% higher, and the heating COP is the difference in performance appeared sparsely. The performance analysis of the heat pump system in school showed that the cooling COP of the hydrothermal source was 10.44% and the heating COP 3.22% lower based on the geothermal source, and the performance difference between the hybrid cooling and heating COP was insignificant. Heat pump system performance analysis in smart farm only occurred with cooling load. Based on geothermal sources, the cooling COP of the hydrothermal source was 46% and the cooling COP of the hybrid was 19.65%, respectively.

The Solar and geothermal energy have many advantage like low cost, non-toxic, and unlimited. But those the have very low energy efficiency. In this study, the theoretical study of performance in a sola-geothermal hybrid heat pump with operating conditions has carried out. As a result, as the solar radiation increases from 1 $MJ/m^2$ to 20 $MJ/m^2$, the heat pump operating time decreases by 19.5% from 18 times to 14.5 times and the heat pump heat decreases by 23%. Besides, the heating COP increases by 21.4% when the evaporator inlet temperature increases from $11^{\circ}C$ to $19^{\circ}C$. By adapting the geothermal system into a solar hybrid R22 heat pump, the system performance and reliability increases significantly for variable operating conditions during winter season.

Geothermal water at moderate temperature in a range between 30 to $50^{\circ}C$ exists sparse in surroundings. Mostly they are utilized as heat or water source at spar zones in Korea. However, a large portion of used water is discarded due to its poor recovery quality and inferior application technologies. In this research, an innovative heat pump system based on the hybrid concept that combinate compression cycle and absorption cycle was investigated mathematically. The hybrid heat pump aims to recycle various kind of the heat sources at moderate temperature including geothermal water effectively. The prime objective of the simulation is to design a compression/absorption hybrid heat pump system which can make high temperature above the level of $90^{\circ}C$ and low temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ as well at the same using $50^{\circ}C$ geothermal heat water. As a result, primitive data was provided as a basis to design a prototype 3 RT class hybrid heat pump.

Industrial low temperature waste heat exists sparse in surroundings but its amount is huge. However, large portion of waste heat is discarded due to its poor recovery quality and inferior application technologies. The heat pump system in this research is based on the hybrid combination of compression cycle and absorption cycle in order to recycle various kind of industrial waste heat effectively. The prime objective is to design a compression absorption hybrid heat pump system which can produce high temperature above the level of $90^{\circ}C$ and low temperature of $20^{\circ}C$ at the same time using waste heat water of $50^{\circ}C$. A mathematical simulation was carried out as a basis to design a prototype 3 RT class hybrid heat pump. From the simulation results, fundamental parameters to design the system were obtained.

This paper presents a basic energy performance data of micro gas turbine, Renewable Energy(BIPV and Solar Collector System, geothermal system) and a hybrid energy system(geothermal system and microturbine) installed in Hospital Building. The efficiency of solar collector and BIPV system was 30%, 10% individually, and lower than micro gas turbines. Micro gas turbines are small gas turbines that bum gaseous and liquid fuels to produce a high-energy exhaust gas and to generate the electrical power. Recently, the size range for micro gas turbines is form 30 to 500kW and power-only generation or in combined heat and power(CHP) systems. Finally, in energy performance aspect, Micro gas turbine system and hybrid energy system were high-efficiency system in hospital building. Hybrid energy system also give us a powerful alternative energy system economically.

The present study concerns the annual performance evaluation of a hybrid-renewable energy system with geothermal and solar heat sources for hot water, heating and cooling of the residential buildings. The hybrid energy system consists of ground source heat pump of 2 RT for cooling, solar collectors of $4.8m^2$, storage tank of 250 liters and gas fired backup boiler of 11.6 kW. The averaged coefficients of performance of geothermal heat pump system during cooling and heating seasons are measured as 4.1 and 3.5, respectively. Also solar fraction for hot water is measured as 35 percent. Overall, the results shows that the hybrid-renewable energy system satisfactorily operated under all climatic conditions.

The objective of this study is to find the optimal control algorithm of a hybrid Plant, which is combined by renewable energy plant of the GSHP(Geothermal Source Heat Pump) and the normal plant (Chiller, boiler). The work presented in this study was carried out in the EnergyPlus(Version 2.0). The EnergyPlus was modified in order to simulate the hybrid plant. The plant system was controlled by the load-range-based operation in which schemes select a user specified set of equipment for each user specified range of a particular simulation condition. In the use of the load-range-based operation, four kind of control cases were defined and simulated in order to obtain the optimal control algorithm of the hybrid plant. The result showed that the Case 2 was the optimal control algorithm which used the GSHP as a base operating plant and the normal plant as an assistant operating plant. Even though the normal plant was operated in full load and the renewable energy plant of the GSHP was operated in partial load, the annual energy consumption of the normal plant was larger than that of the GSHP plant.
