레이저 점 용접의 응용 (Application of laser spot welding)

  • Laser spot welding offers a unique combination of high speed. precision and low heat distortion, compared with conventional resistance spot welding. This combinatin of advantages is especially attractive for the automotive industry. Until now automobile fabrication is widely used resistance spot welding, however, because of geometric and structural problem, spot welding is required many welding machine in that reason by substituting spot welding with laser welding, it save the equipment cost. In the present study we measured ultimate strength and observed bead cross section of laser welded specimen and compared with that of the resistance spot welding results in order to adapt laser welding in automobile industry. Also for strength esti- mation we calculated the residual stress of laser welded zone. All calculations are performed with the ABAQUS code on a workstation.

Global Feature Extraction and Recognition from Matrices of Gabor Feature Faces

  • This paper presents a method for facial feature representation and recognition from the Covariance Matrices of the Gabor-filtered images. Gabor filters are a very powerful tool for processing images that respond to different local orientations and wave numbers around points of interest, especially on the local features on the face. This is a very unique attribute needed to extract special features around the facial components like eyebrows, eyes, mouth and nose. The Covariance matrices computed on Gabor filtered faces are adopted as the feature representation for face recognition. Geodesic distance measure is used as a matching measure and is preferred for its global consistency over other methods. Geodesic measure takes into consideration the position of the data points in addition to the geometric structure of given face images. The proposed method is invariant and robust under rotation, pose, or boundary distortion. Tests run on random images and also on publicly available JAFFE and FRAV3D face recognition databases provide impressively high percentage of recognition.

  • This paper describes the issue relating to the design and implementation of a high-precision vision system for monitor inspection. We present several monitor inspection algorithms which evaluate the geometric distrotions of the patterns on the inspection target monitor. Also, to inspect color distortion acquired form color CCD camera into the XYy coordinate, accurately. The proposed monitor inspection system is implemented on IBM PC/486, and the user interface is developed on microsoft windows to assist unskilled users for easy use. Using the developed vision system, Experiments on the inspection accuracy and speed were performed and the results are presented.

  • 디지털 카메라의 개발과 컴퓨터 프로세서의 발달은 수치영상 획득과 분석과정을 단순화시켜 수치사진측량의 실시간 처리를 가능케 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 centroid기법을 이용한 상 측정 정확도의 향상을 위해 sub-pixel 측정시스템을 개발하고 이미지의 준 자동 측정을 실현하므로서 보다 효과적인 centroid측정기법과 이에 적합한 타겟의 형상을 결정할 수 있었다. 그리고 수치 영상의 기하학적 내부정확도 향상을 위해 Kodak DCS200 카메라의 렌즈 왜곡보정을 실시하므로서 비측정용 카메라의 단점을 보완할 수 있었다.

  • In direct-projected augmented reality, different position of user requires different projection on 3-D display surface. The problem is caused by the difference between the direction of projector-to-object and the direction of user-to-object. In this paper, it is demonstrated that the graphical contents are properly pre-warped according to user's viewpoint and projected onto 3-D display surface without geometric distortion.

  • An efficient corner matching algorithm is developed to minimize the amount of calculation. To reduce the amount of calculation, all available information from a corner detector is used to make model. This information has uncertainties due to discretization noise and geometric distortion, and this is represented by fuzzy rule base which can represent and handle the uncertainties. Form fuzzy inference procedure, a matched segment list is extracted, and resulted segment list is used to calculate the transformation between object of model and scene. To reduce the false hypotheses, a vote and re-vote method is developed. Also an auto tuning scheme of the fuzzy rule base is developed to find out the uncertainties of features from recognized results automatically. To show the effectiveness of the developed algorithm, experiments are conducted for images of real electronic components.

  • In order to analyze shell structures more accurately and effectively, a hybrid 4-node quadrilateral shell element is formulated. The element includes the frilling degrees of freedom and the independent parameter terms of the stress resultants are appropriately selected to overcome some of the shortcomings of the standard 4-node quadrilateral elements. In order to show the accuracy and convergent characteristics of the proposed shell element, three numerical examples are analyzed and the results are compared with the existed. As a result of this study, following conclusions are obtained. (1)Analysis results by the proposed element are less sensitive to the element geometric distortion. (2)The proposed element does not produce any spurious zero-energy modes

  • In this paper, we have described and simulated the effect analysis and correction of phase errors in the SAR rawdata induced by satellite attitude errors such as drift, jitter. This simulation is based on the FSA(Frequency Scaling Algorithm) for high resolution image formation of the Spotlight SAR. Phase errors produce the degradation of SAR image quality such as loss of resolution, geometric distortion, loss of contrast, spurious targets, and decrease in SNR. To resolve this problem, this paper presents method for correction of phase errors using the PGA(Phase Gradient Algorithm) in connection with the FSA. Several results of the phase errors correction are presented for Spotlight SAR rawdata.

  • This study investigated the use of airborne image data to provide estimates of within -field variability in soil properties and crop growth as an alternative to extensive field data collection. Hyperspectral and multispectral images were acquired in 2000, 2001, and 2002 for central Missouri experimental fields. Data were converted to reflectance using chemically-treated reference tarps with known reflectance levels. Geometric distortion of the hyperspectral pushbroom sensor images was corrected with a rubber sheeting transformation. Statistical analyses were used to relate image data to field-measured soil properties and crop characteristics. Results showed that this approach has potential; however, it is important to address a number of implementation issues to insure quality data and accurate interpretations.

  • classification of the satellite images provides information about land cover and/or land use. Quality of the classification result depends mainly on the spatial and spectral resolutions of the images. In this study, image fusion in terms of resolution merging, and band integration with multi-source of the satellite images; Landsat ETM+ and Ikonos were carried out to improve classification. Resolution merging and band integration could generate imagery of high resolution with more spectral bands. Precise image co-registration is required to remove geometric distortion between different sources of images. Combination of unsupervised and supervised classification of the fused imagery was implemented to improve classification. 3D display of the results was possible by combining DEM with the classification result so that interpretability could be improved.
