A Fault Detection System Design for Uncertain Fuzzy Systems

  • This paper deals with a fault detection system design for uncertain nonlinear systems modelled as T-S fuzzy systems with the integral quadratic constraints. In order to generate a residual signal, we used a left coprime factorization of the T-S fuzzy system. From the filtered signal of the residual generator, the fault occurence can be detected effectively. A simulation study with nuclear steam generator level control system shows that the suggested method can be applied to detect the fault in actual applications.

  • This paper presented to design a robust turbo-generator control system using {{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis for improving small-signal stability. Application study of{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control synthesis is more appropriate in this system since a turbo-generator system is usually operated under circumstance of unmeasurable modelling uncertainty and external disturbance. The{{{{ { H}_{$\infty$ } }}}} control theory was briefly reviewed for good understanding and the reasonable approach. The design results are simulated for a case study and to check the system performance in comparison with currently operating Lead/Lag filtered PSS performance.

  • $^{68}Ga$ has emerged as a promising candidate for non-invasive diagnostic imaging within Positron Emission Tomography (PET) because of its advantageous radiochemical characteristics ($t_{1/2}=68min$, ${\beta}^+$ yield ~89%). $^{68}Ga$ forms a stable chelation with various ligands and it is possible to be quickly and easily study using a $^{68}Ge/^{68}Ga$ generator. Commercial $^{68}Ge/^{68}Ga$ generators are chromatographic system using the inorganic materials such as alumina and tin dioxide which are employed as column matrixes for $^{68}Ge$. In this study, we tried out to make $^{68}Ge/^{68}Ga$ generator system with the $^{68}GeO_2$ microstructures for column matrix. $^{68}Ge$ tends to have stable bond with oxide as $^{68}GeO_2$ microstructures. The $^{68}GeO_2$ has been synthesized by hydrolysis of $GeCl_4$ (sol-gel method) and characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscope for geometrical analysis. The stability of $GeO_2$ was tested using eluents with diverse solvents(water, ethanol and 0.1 N HCl). The radioactivity of $^{68}Ga^{3+}$ in eluate through $GeO_2$ was measured to prove a function as column material for a generator.

  • This paper proposes a new coding technique for constructing error correcting high rate DC-free multimode code using a generator matrix generated from a sparse parity-check matrix. The scheme exploits high rate generator matrixes for producing distinct candidate codewords. The decoding complexity depends on whether the syndrome of the received codeword is zero or not. If the syndrome is zero, the decoding is simply performed by expurgating the redundant bits of the received codeword. Otherwise, the decoding is performed by a sum-product algorithm. The performance of the proposed scheme can achieve a reasonable DC-suppression and a low bit error rate.

  • Guarino Guarini(1624-1683) is one of great Baroque architects who developed new spatial concept in architecture. He refused to static space typically appeared in Renaissance architecture. Instead, to make it possible to generate complicate form and moving space, he made use of generative diagram. It provide him with an abstract machine to generate automatically architectural inferiority. His generative diagram consists of three types: single circle diagram, matrix diagram and longitudinal diagram. The first diagram uses single circle as primary generator and develop this by means of overlap and equiangular division. La Cappella della Santissima Sindone, Sanctuary of Chiesa di Oropa, Chiesa dei Padri Somaschi, San Gaetano are designed according to this diagram. The generator of the second diagram is nine circles in $3{\times}3$ matrix, which provide the base for the interpenetration of space in Guarini's architecture. He inspired this diagram from Kepler's $\ulcorner$Harmonices mundi$\lrcorner$. The Churches of San Lorenzo, Ste-Anne-la-Royale, San Filippo Neri, San Gaetano are generated by this diagram. The third diagram has several circles in Lantin-cross plan. Guarini adopted this diagram because he had chances to design several churches in Northern Europe. The churches of Santa Maria di Ettinga, Immacolata Concezione, San Maria della Divina Providenza, Church without Name, San Filippo Neri are representative examples for this diagram.

Fabrication of CNT/PVDF Composite Film and Its Electrical Properties (CNT/PVDF 압전 복합막의 제작과 전기적 특성)

  • The carbon nanotube / poly-vinylidene fluoride (CNT/PVDF) composite films for the nano-generator devices were fabricated by spray coating method using the CNT/PVDF solution, which was prepared by adding PVDF pellets into the CNT dispersed N-Methyl-2-pyrroli-done (NMP) solution. The flexible CNT/PVDF composite films were investigated by the scanning electron microscopy, which revealed that the CNTs were uniformly dispersed in the PVDF matrix and thickness of the films was approximately $20{\mu}m$. Fourier transform infra-red spectra were used to investigate crystal structure of the as-spray-coated CNT/PVDF films, and we found that they revealed extremely large portion of the ${\beta}$ phase PVDF. The capacitance of the CNT/PVDF films increased by adding CNTs into the PVDF matrix, and finally saturated. However, the resistance didn't show any saturation effect in the CNT concentration range of 0~4 wt%. Finally, the resulting nano-generator devices revealed reasonable current output after given mechanical stress.

  • Recently, interest in AMOLED (Active Matrix OLED) panels has been growing with the development of displays used in each device. Therefore, the demand for the inspection equipment required for production is spreading, and therefore, efficient design is required to operate a plurality of signal generators. In this paper, we propose a central server management system for signal generators. The proposed system includes a method for driving an AMOLED panel, and the timing and power setting results are presented. Thus, it is possible to cope with loss or alteration of data, and it is believed that stable and smooth communication is possible.

Minimum Row Weight and Polar Spectrum Based Puncture Polar Codes Construction Algorithm

  • In order to handle the problem that puncture patterns will change the position distribution of original information bits and frozen bits in polar codes, which affects performance of puncture polar codes further, a minimum row weight and polar spectrum based puncture polar codes construction algorithm (called PA-MRWP) is proposed in this paper. The algorithm calculates row weight of generator matrix and sorts the row weight in ascending order first. Next, the positions with the minimum row weight are selected as initial puncture positions. If the rows with the same row weight cannot all be punctured, polar spectrum based auxiliary puncture scheme is used. In sub-channels with the same row weight, rows corresponding to the polarized sub-channels with higher reliability are selected as puncture positions to construct puncture vector, and the reliability is calculated based on polar spectrum. It is actually a two-step selection strategy, the proposed minimum row weight puncture (MRWP) algorithm is used for primary selection and polar spectrum based auxiliary puncture is used for adjustment. Simulation results show that, compared with worst quality puncture (WQP) algorithm, the proposed PA-MRWP algorithm and Gaussian approximation-aided minimum row weight puncture (GA-MRWP) algorithm provide gains of about 0.46 dB and 0.29 dB at bit error rate (BER) of 10-4, respectively when code length N=400, code rate R=1/2. In addition, the proposed puncture algorithms improve the BER performance significantly with respect to quasi-uniform puncture (QUP) algorithm.

  • A systematic procedure for the elements of system state matrix in multimachine systems with loads and eigenvalue technique which utilize stage matrix have widespread application in the analysis of small signal stability. Synchronous machines are represented by either a two-axis model or classical model. The interrelationship of submatrices of system matrix is investigated. Once elements of one submatrix are determined, they can be used to calculate the elements of the other submatrix. The approach is useful in the eigenvalue sensitivity analysis for various initial conditions and for the adjustment of generator controller parameters. It is illustrated for a three-machine and nine-bus multimachine system(WSCC system) with constant impedance loads.

  • In this study, a novel microwave-matrix reformer was proposed to convert CH4, which is a major component, to a high quality hydrogen energy. And to identify this performance, it was investigated for O2/C ratio, steam feed amount and reformed gas recirculation which are affected for methane conversion and product gas yield. Through the parametric screening studies, optimal operating conditions were that O2/C ratio, steam feed amount and recirculation rate were 1.1, 10 mL/min and 30 L/min. In this conditions, CH4 conversion was 68.1%, H2 selectivity 77.2 and H2/CO ratio 2.62 which are possible applying SOFC stack for RPG (residential power generator).
