Cracking ammonia inside solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) stack is a compact and simple way. To prevent sharp temperature fluctuation and increase cell efficiency, the decomposition reaction should be spread on whole cell area. This leading to a question that, how does anode thickness affect the conversion rate of ammonia and the cell voltage? Since the 0D model of SOFC is useful for system level simulation, how accurate is it to use equilibrium solver for internal ammonia cracking reaction? The 1D model of ammonia fed SOFC was used to simulate the diffusion and reaction of ammonia inside the anode electrode, then the partial pressure of hydrogen and steam at triple phase boundary was used for cell voltage calculation. The result shows that, the ammonia conversion rate increases and reaches saturated value as anode thickness increase, and the saturated thickness is bigger for lower operating temperature. The similar cell voltage between 1D and 0D models can be reached with NH3 conversion rate above 90%. The 0D model and 1D model of SOFC showed similar conversion rate at temperature over 750℃.

In order to support ultrawide-band signal generation for low rate WPAN, several types of signal generation mechanisms are suggested such as Chaos, Impluse, and Chirp signals by the activity of IEEE 802.15.4a. The communication system applied chaos theory may have ultrawide-band characteristics with spread spectrum and immunity from multipath effect. In order to use the advantage of chaotic signal generation, we introduce the system implementation of communication and networking systems with the chaos UWB signal. This system may be composed of mainly three parts in hardware architecture : RF transmission with chaotic signal generation, signal receiver using amplifiers and filters, and 8051 & FPGA unit. The most difficult part is to implement the chaotic signal generator and build transceiver with it. The implementation of the system is devidced into two parts i.e. RF blocks and digital blocks with amplifiers, filters, ADC, 8051 processor, and FPGA. In this paper, we introduce the system block diagram for chaotic communications. Mainly the RF block is important for the system to have good performance based on the chaotic signal generator. And the main control board functions for controlling RF blocks, processing Tx and Rx data, and networking in MAC layer.
In the present study, the discharge characteristics of a lithium-ion battery was evaluated to calculate the rate of heat generation under various discharge rates by mathematical modeling. The modeling and simulation of a pseudo-two dimensional ionic transport system for governing Butler-Volmer equation were carried out by using FEMLAB as a PDE (partial differential equation) solver, where the discharge rate was changed from 5 $A/m^2$ to 25 $A/m^2$. The computational results showed that the concentration of consumed solid-phase lithium at the surface of electrode was increased with increasing discharge rates. While the resulting diffusion limitation occurred shortly, it increased the rate of heat generation even more rapidly for the internal voltage to approach the cutoff voltage of the lithium-ion battery.
This work investigated the difference between $Fe^{2+}$ autoxidation-induced and Fenton-type cleavage of pBR322 plasmid DNA. $^{\cdot}OH$ generation reactions in the absence and presence of $H_2O_2$ under various conditions were also investigated. Although both the $Fe^{2+}$ autoxidation and Fenton-type reactions showed DNA cleavage and $^{\cdot}OH$ generation, there were significant differences in their efficiencies and reaction rates. The rate and efficiency of the cleavage reaction were higher in the absence of 1.0 mM of $H_2O_2$ than in its presence in 20 mM phosphate buffer. In contrast, the $^{\cdot}OH$ generation reaction was more prominent in the presence of $H_2O_2$ and showed a pH-independent, fast initial reaction rate, but the rate was decreased in the absence of $H_2O_2$ at across the entire tested pH range. Studies using radical scavengers on DNA cleavage and $^{\cdot}OH$ generation reactions in both the absence and presence of $H_2O_2$ confirmed that both reactions spontaneously involved the active oxygen species $^{\cdot}OH$, ${O_2}^{\cdot-}$, $^1O_2$ and $H_2O_2$, indicating that a similar process may participate in both reactions. Based on the above observations, a new mechanism for the $Fe^{2+}$ autoxidation-induced DNA cleavage reaction is proposed.
In order to evaluate and finally optimize the vitrification condition for combustible dry active waste (DAW), dust and gas generation characteristics were investigated for PE, cellulose, and mixed waste Tests were conducted by varying the operation variables such as melter configuration, excess oxygen amount, and waste feeding rate. Results showed that dust generation characteristics were affected by the operation parameters and the melter's configuration is the dominant one. For all tested DAWs, dust generation was reduced by increasing the waste feeding rate and the excessive oxygen amount in the melter. Among waste types, dust amount was decreased by the order of mixed wastes, PE, and cellulose. Other parameters such as temperature variation and operation time have also affected the dust generation. The optimum condition for the DAW vitrification was determined as the melter's configuration equipped for minimizing the waste dispersion with 20 kg/h of waste feeding rate and 100% of excessive oxygen supply. CO gas concentration in the off-gas was immediately influenced by the combustion state in the melter, but showed similar trend as the dust generation. For the NOx production during the vitrification process, thermal NOx, which is generated from the Post Combustion Chamber (PCC), rather than fuel NOx was assumed to be dominant. The gas cleaning of efficiencies of the PCC, wet scrubber, and Selective Catalytic Reduction system (SCR) were found to be high enough to keep the concentration of pollutants (CO, NOx, SOx, HCI) in the stack below their relevant emission limits.
Photovoltaics (PV) power generation efficiency is affected by meteorological factors such as temperature and wind speed. In general, it is known that the power generation amount decreases because photovoltaics panel temperature rises and the power generation efficiency decreases in summer. Photovoltaics Thermal (PVT) power generation has the ad-vantage of being able to produce heat together with power, as well as preventing the reduction in power generation efficien-cy and output due to the temperature rise of the panel. In this study, the amount of heat collected by season and time was calculated for photovoltaics thermal modules using the International Weather for Energy Calculations (IWEC) data provided by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). Based on this, we propose a method of predicting the temperature of the photovoltaics panel using thermal analysis and then calculating the flow rate of coolant to improve power generation efficiency. As the results, the photovoltaics efficiencies versus time on January, April, July, and October in Jeju of the Republic of Korea were calculated to the range of 15.06% to 17.83%, and the maxi-mum cooling load and flow rate for the photovoltaics thermal module were calculated to 121.16 W and 45 cc/min, respec-tively. Though this study, it could be concluded that the photovoltaics thermal system can be composed of up to 53 modules with targeting the Jeju, since the maximum capacity of the coolant circulation pump of the photovoltaics thermal system applied in this study is 2,400 cc/min.

This paper is a study on the optimal microdroplet generation conditions in indirect charging electrostatic spraying. Unlike the direct charging method, which applies power to the nozzle, the indirect charging method applies power to the discharge electrode between the nozzle and the collection electrode. Therefore, an electrically simplified system can be obtained by minimizing the insulation part a stable spray pattern can be obtained with a wide spray angle, and a stable spray pattern can be obtained with a wide spray angle. To conduct the study, an indirect charging type electrostatic spray visualization system was constructed and the static characteristics of the microdroplets were analyzed through image processing of the spray shape of the microdroplets. The total number of microdroplets and the number of microdroplets per power consumption are confirmed according to the changes in the distance between the discharge electrode and the collection electrode, the flow rate, and the applied voltage, which affect the generation of microdroplets, and using this, the optimal generation conditions are derived and the corresponding microdroplet size distribution was analyzed. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that the optimal generation condition was at a flow rate of 15 to 20 mL/min and a voltage of -22.5 to -25 kV in terms of the number of microdroplets, and at a flow rate of 15 to 20 mL/min and a voltage of -20 kV in terms of energy consumption efficiency.
Since the Framework Act on Resource Circulation was enacted in 2018, the government should establish a National Resource Circulation Master Plan every 10 years, which defines mid- to long-term policy goals and directions on the efficient use of resources, prevention of waste generation and recycling of waste. In addition, we must set mid- to long-term and stepwise targets for the final disposal rate, recycling rate (based on sorted recyclable materials and recycled products), and energy recovery rate of wastes, and relevant measures should be taken to achieve these targets. However, the current industrial waste (IW) statistics have limitations in setting these targets because the final disposal rate and recycling rate are calculated as the ratio of the recycling facility input to the IW generation. In this study, the material flow from the collection stage to the final disposal of industrial waste was analyzed based on the generation of 2016, and the actual recycling amount, actual incineration amount, final disposal amount and their rates were calculated. The effect on the recycling, incineration and final disposal rates was examined by changing the treatment method of nonhazardous wastes from the factory and construction and demolition wastes, which were put in landfills in 2016. In addition, the variation of the waste treatment charge was investigated according to the change of treatment methods. The results of this study are expected to be effectively used to establish the National Resource Circulation Master Plan and industrial waste management policy in the future in South Korea.
Purpose: Bacterial degeneration of sweat and increased secretion of over developed apocrine sweat gland are known causes of osmidrosis. In addition, genetic inheritance must be another important cause, because there are high incidence rates of osmidrosis in familial members. But the research about genetic inheritance has been overlooked. For this reason we studied genetic inheritance in osmidrosis patients based on pedigree analysis. Methods: We have evaluated pedigree of 52 patients who have diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2003 to August 2007. For making pedigrees, we have evaluated 3 generations of affected lineage from osmidrosis patients. Family members having uncertain information or those who are before puberty are excluded. In pedigree analysis, inheritance rate and inheritance pattern from parents, prevalence rate in generations and sexual prevalence are evaluated. Results: In this study, we divided pedigrees into 3 different groups according to inheritance pattern. Group A is genetically unrelated pattern with no prevalence between familial members in 7 families. Group B is weakly expressed pattern with 17 families there are genetically related but no genetic patterns are founded. In group B inheritance rate is 34% and incidence rate is 21% in 2nd generation and 22% in 3rd generation. Group C is autosomal dominant pattern with 31 families. In group C, there are no differences in sexual prevalence. Incidence rate is 43% in 2nd generation and 49% in 3rd generation. Conclusion: In this study, we have studied pedigrees of 52 families of osmidrosis patients. 60% of the pedigrees shows autosomal dominant pattern, 33% shows genetically related but no definite autosomal dominant pattern and 7% shows genetically unrelated pattern. In Conclusion, This study can be basic data for future gene analysis study of osmidrosis.
Ginseng treated with several treatment conditions of various acids to search hydrolysates on the basis of increased biological activity and modified structure. In the result of acid treatment, the conversion rate of ginsenoside Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5 was highest when ginseng treated with citric acid. After added citric acid to ginseng extract, boiled at l00$^{\circ}C$ for 1 hour and add enzyme, which is examined change by time. It compared with group which did not treated acid. Two groups became difference according to enzyme but the generation rate of ginsenoside Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5 did not show difference greatly. Also, the generation rate of ginsenoside Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5 by time passes did not show difference. The generation rate of ginsenoside Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5 increased when increased acid concentration, temperature and time. We did exclusion molding to shorten treatment time. In the result of ginseng treated with citric acid of various concentrations at various temperatures as time passes by extrusion molding, the generation rate of ginsenoside Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5 was highest when ginseng treated with 3% citric acid at l60$^{\circ}C$ for 20 minutes. In addition, total saponin amount of ginseng treated with 3% citric acid at 160$^{\circ}C$ for 20 minutes was about 11% higher than ginseng heated at 120$^{\circ}C$ for 3 hours. These results indicated that our exclusion molding process more effective, compared to traditional red ginseng manufacturing process.
