Social media big data analysis of Z-generation fashion (Z세대 패션에 대한 소셜미디어의 빅데이터 분석)

  • This study analyzed the social media accounts and performed a Big Data analysis of Z-generation fashion using Textom Text Mining Techniques program and Ucinet Big Data analysis program. The research results are as follows: First, as a result of keyword analysis on 67.646 Z-generation fashion social media posts over the last 5 years, 220,211 keywords were extracted. Among them, 67 major keywords were selected based on the frequency of co-occurrence being greater than more than 250 times. As the top keywords appearing over 1000 times, were the most influential as the number of nodes connected to 'Z generation' (29595 times) are overwhelmingly, and was followed by 'millennials'(18536 times), 'fashion'(17836 times), and 'generation'(13055 times), 'brand'(8325 times) and 'trend'(7310 times) Second, as a result of the analysis of Network Degree Centrality between the key keywords for the Z-generation, the number of nodes connected to the "Z-generation" (29595 times) is overwhelmingly large. Next, many 'millennial'(18536 times), 'fashion'(17836 times), 'generation'(13055 times), 'brand'(8325 times), 'trend'(7310 times), etc. appear. These texts are considered to be important factors in exploring the reaction of social media to the Z-generation. Third, through the analysis of CONCOR, text with the structural equivalence between major keywords for Gen Z fashion was rearranged and clustered. In addition, four clusters were derived by grouping through network semantic network visualization. Group 1 is 54 texts, 'Diverse Characteristics of Z-Generation Fashion Consumers', Group 2 is 7 Texts, 'Z-Generation's teenagers Fashion Powers', Group 3 is 8 Texts, 'Z-Generation's Celebrity Fashions' Interest and Fashion', Group 4 named 'Gucci', the most popular luxury fashion of the Z-generation as one text.

An Application of Smith's Marketing Ethics Sequential System Model to Generation Z Consumers: A Case Study of Hotpot Restaurant Chains in China

  • This study attempts to discover a differentiated service strategy for the hotpot restaurant industry from the perspective of Chinese Generation Z customers, as well as to further explore the inner needs of Chinese Generation Z to make practical implications for discovering the method of gaining their satisfaction and loyalty. This paper employs questionnaires to collect analytical data and through a case study to produce company strategies. Smith's Marketing Ethics Sequential System Model (SMESSM) is introduced in this paper for the decision of whether the case study company Haidilao Hot Pot should make a new strategy on service based on Generation Z's consuming behavior. The findings of this study demonstrate that hotpot restaurant must differentiate their services for Generation Z from older generation customers to gain a sustainable development of the hotpot business. Proper differentiated service will not only improve Generation Z's dining experience but also reduce costs. This paper is the first to discuss differentiated service strategy in the hotpot restaurant business from the perspective of Generation Z customers. And a Chinese experience of SMESSM for practical use is introduced in this paper, which enriches the relevant implications for future research on business strategy.

Factors Impacting on Korean Consumer Goods Purchase Decision of Vietnam's Generation Z

  • Purpose - This study aims to explore the impact of factors on Korean consumer goods purchase decision of Vietnam's Generation Z. Research design, data, and methodology - A mixed research method was utilized in this study including focus group, in-depth interview, pilot study, and official study. The conceptual model and hypothesis were tested using data collected cross-sectional by questionnaire, from a sample of 439 respondents, by both electronic and paper surveys with non-probability and convenience sampling. The SPSS 20 and AMOS 20 software were employed to analyze the data. Results - Results showed that Vietnam's Generation Z was strongly impacted by social media, Hallyu, country of origin, social norms, and perceived usefulness. Besides, Korean consumer goods purchase decision of Vietnam's Generation Z also were impacted by intermediary factors such as trust, social norms, product involvement, perceived quality, perceived usefulness, attitude, and buying intention. There were differences in factors affecting the purchase decision of the boy and girl Generation Z group. Conclusions - The factors impacting on Korean consumer goods decision of Vietnam's Generation Z are very important for Korean firms and government. The findings provide Korean firms opportunity for appropriate to be carried out factors impacting Korean consumer goods to generation Z in Vietnam successful.

  • The majority of students in higher education institutions are among generation Z. They have always depended on e-learning to support their learning activities. Therefore, higher education institutions should provide an attractive e-learning platform. E-learning interface design should be reviewed frequently to smoothen the interaction between students and the e-learning system. It is because interface design that fulfils generation Z students' preferences and expectations may upsurge their participation in e-learning. However, interface design has continually been condemned and turn out to be part of the problem that contributes to the failure of e-learning. Lack of consideration about generation Z students' preferences towards the interface design of e-learning is the factor that leads to these causes. Therefore, this study focused on identifying design characteristics of colour and graphic elements of e-learning from generation Z students' perception. This research involved a purposive sampling method for questionnaire among students of generation Z. The findings from this study could help e-learning developers to design the interface of e-learning that is suitable for generation Z students that will consider color and graphic as important characteristics.

Beauty Education of University Considering the Characteristics of Generation Z (Z세대의 특성을 고려한 대학의 미용교육)

  • With the development of related industries, there is a growing demand for the training of beauty professionals. At a time when there is a growing social interest in Cosmetology, there is a need to review functional Beauty Education. Generation Z, born after 1995, has the characteristics of a 'Digital Native' and is expected to be the main driver of future consumption. This study is intended to propose the orientation of Beauty Education of University considering the characteristics of the digital generation, Generation Z, in an era of declining school-age population. The results from the preceding and literary studies are as follows: First, Generation Z regards cosmetology as fun tool for self-realization. Second, Beauty Education of University should be designed as a creative curriculum combined with psychology, philosophy, aesthetics, etc., as well as acquiring professional skills. Third, it is believed that the learner-centered Beauty Education method using mobile video contents will be effective. Since the discussion of Beauty Education considering the characteristics of Generation Z is still in its early stages, further research on the direction of Education needs to be made in the future.

An investigation of Generation Z's Intention to use Electronic Wallet in Vietnam

  • Purpose: There has been a growing focus on E-wallet adoption especially in emerging markets as it offers a convenient method for users to conduct cashless transactions. This study examines antecedents influencing the decision of Generation Z to adopt E-wallet. It looks into the effect of determining factors including compatibility, perceived convenience, perceived trust, perceived reputation, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and social influence on users' intention to use. The moderator role of social influence is also under examination. Research design, data and methodology: The quantitative method has been adopted to collect data from 170 Generation Z users. SmartPLS 3.0 was applied to examine the constructed hypotheses. Results: The results indicate an indirect effect between Compatibility, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Trust and Social Influence toward intention to adopt Electronic wallet, or both of those factors are mediated by Perceived Convenience, Perceived Usefulness, and Reputation. Moreover, research finding highlights the role of Perceived Usefulness as Generation Z's intention determinant to use E-Wallet. Conclusions: This study is substantial as it selected the promising customer segment - Generation Z to examine the factors influencing their decision to adopt Electronic wallet. Marketers can navigate which dimensions should be included in marketing campaigns to encourage Generation Z's adoption.

Necessity of the Slow City Management and Distributional Values by Generations

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate how to perceive the role of the slow city and provide policy and managerial implications on the necessity of the slow city management and distributional values based on perspectives of millennials and generation Z. This study examined i) how do millennials and generation Z perceive economic, environment, cultural, community, and quality of life factors on attitude toward the slow city? ii) how does attitude affect overall satisfaction and intention to recommend the slow city to other cities' residents? iii) how do millennials perspectives on proposed factors differ from generation Z? Research design, data and methodology: This study conducted an online survey and applied t-test, factor, ANOVA, and regression analysis. Results: This study found that effects of economic and quality of life factors on attitude toward the slow city showed significance in cases of millennials and generation Z, while effects of environment factor on overall attitude showed significance in the case of generation Z. Conclusions: Governments should foster how millennials and generation Z understand the meanings of the slow city to form a better attitude in a society and put efforts to build a better image and management of the slow city.

Application of AI in Marketing Strategy: Insights from Millennials and Generation Z

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the perceptions of millennials and Generation Z regarding AI applications in marketing, an area that has been rarely explored in previous researches. This study formulated research questions how millennials and Generation Z perceive the impact of brand image, AI-assistant customer service, affective factor, immersive experience, cognitive factor social factor and competitiveness of products and brands on overall attitude through the lens of AI applications in marketing. Additionally, this study also explored the influence of overall attitudes on satisfaction, intention to use, and loyalty towards AI applications. Research design, data and methodology: To gather data, this study employed an online survey conducted in collaboration with a reputable research organization. This study utilized factor analysis, ANOVA, and regression analysis for data analysis. Results: The findings revealed that the impact of brand image, AI-assistant customer service, and competitiveness on attitude demonstrated significance in both millennials and generation Z cohorts. The study identified that cognitive and social factors significantly influenced attitudes among millennials, whereas affective and immersive experiences showed significance in influencing attitudes among Generation Z. Conclusions: The findings offer valuable managerial implications, shedding light on the application of AI in marketing with distinct perspectives between millennials and Generation Z.

  • This study analyzed the characteristics of generation Z leading the trend of the fashion industry through the creative activity of Virgil Abloh. A literature review and case study were conducted together with detailing the research methodology. As a result of research, generation Z is conceptualized as a "digital native" who grows in digital technology environment with excellent visual sense. They are "SNS creators" who have influence on Social Networking Services (SNS). They are also characterized as "social activists" who reject social conventions and prejudices. They are a "leading creators" who seek to differentiate with creativity. The characteristics of generation Z in the creative activities of Virgil Abloh have a feature of digital native in that they seek visual originality. In terms of communicating with generation Z through SNS and influencer marketing, it has the characteristics of SNS creators. It expresses social activists in providing consumers with diversity, and social perceptions of differentiation. In terms of providing content that encourages consumers to express their personality, it has a feature of leading creators. It is meaningful in that it contributes to the understanding of the market change and marketing strategy according to the consumer development and the activity of the fashion designer.

A study on the user experience of mobile Fintech service in Z generation -Focused on KakaoPay and Toss- (Z세대의 모바일 핀테크 서비스 사용자 경험 연구 -카카오페이와 토스를 중심으로-)

  • This study is a study on the user experience of mobile Fintech service of the Z generation, and the past Finance was one of the industries that users felt difficult. However, the Z generation, who grew up in the digital environment, feels comfortable with mobile payment. This study is limited to Kakaopay and Toss, which are representative domestic Fintech services, and aims to suggest the direction of domestic Fintech services in the future. A total of 8 subjects were interviewed by the target group interview and the survey was conducted simultaneously. As a result of the study, Z generation was greatly influenced by various factors such as corporate brand, image, character, and event in addition to economic aspect. Also, it is considered most in the field of reliability and value, so a strategy is needed to secure it. In the future, we expect the development of Fintech service reflecting the needs of Z generation that will lead consumption in the future.
