A Study on Spatial Distributions of Courant Number and Numerical Efficiency of LTS Method in Calculation of Ship Resistance Using Structured and Unstructured Meshes (정렬 및 비정렬 격자를 이용한 선박 저항 계산에서 Courant 수의 공간 분포 및 LTS 기법의 효율성에 관한 연구)

  • Numerical simulations of ship resistance have been performed to compare spatial characteristics of Courant number when using structured and unstructured meshes. When Euler scheme was used for time integration, the structured mesh provided a more efficient calculation because the calculation time interval was larger than that of unstructured mesh. The automatic generation of very small meshes in the unstructured mesh was mainly responsible for the limitation of calculation time interval. When local time stepping Euler scheme was applied, however, the ship resistance of unstructured mesh showed a rapid convergence while a slow convergence of ship resistance in structured mesh was caused by the small time interval in bulbous bow.

  • Simultaneous parallel approaches in all weather conditions should be applied to manage efficiently increasing volume of air traffic flow and solve the problem of delayed arrivals. But All of the airports which have closely-spaced parallel-runways in Korea don't meet the interval-standards for IFR parallel approaches. In that regard, more accurate and safer System should be applied for the Korean airports. GNSS was adopted as an international standard of the next-generation navigation system and many studies and master plans have been activated by stages in Korea. In this paper, the current state of the domestic airports will be analyzed focusing on the interval of parallel runways and future specification of both flight operation system and air-side management will be recommended.

  • A new code, LS code, was proposed for the IMT-2000 CDMA system. The code has special properties during a specific time interval: 1) perfect autocorrelation, and 2) perfect crosscorrelation. Perfect autocorrelation means maximum autocorrelation for zero time-offset and zero autocorrelation for all other times during a specific time interval. Moreover, perfect crosscorrelation means that the crosscorrelation has zero value during a certain time, you can remove all the MAI within that time. However, the detailed properties of LS code and its exact generation method have been previously unknown. Therefore, we investigate the LS code in regards to its exact generating method, properties, and performances in this paper.

  • This paper describes a three-dimensional reference trajectory generation method for giving commands to an unmanned air vehicle (UAV). The trajectory is a set of consecutive curves with constant acceleration during each interval and passing through via-points at specified times or speeds. The functional inputs are three-dimensional positions and times (or speeds) at via-points, and velocities at both boundaries. Its output is the time series of position values satisfying the piecewise constant acceleration condition. To be specific, the shape of the trajectory, known as the path, is first represented by splines using third degree polynomials. A numeric algorithm is then suggested, which can overcome the demerits of cubic spline method and promptly generate a piecewise constant acceleration trajectory from the given path. To show the effectiveness of the present scheme, trajectory generation cases were treated, and their speed calculation errors were evaluated.

  • The purpose of this paper is to improve power conversion efficiency of three-phase soft-switching voltage-source inverter with an auxiliary resonant dc link (ARDCL) snubber circuit. Firstly, the operation principle of ARDCL snubber circuit is described. Secondly, this paper proposes an effictive generation method of zero voltage vector for three-phase voltage-source soft-switching inverter in power losses in which power losses in the ARDCL snubber circuit can be reduced. In particular, zero voltage holding interval in the inverter DC busline can be controlled due to the new generation scheme of zero voltage vector. Thirdly, a simulator for power loss analysis for power loss characteristics based on actual system, is developed. the validity of developed. The validity of developed simulator of proved with experimental results. Finally, power efficency of three-phase inverter is estimated according to high carrier frequency by using the simulatior.

Growth Characteristics of Leptochela gracilis in the Coastal water near Kanghwa Island, Korea (강화도 연안 돛대 기새우 (Leptochela gracilis)의 성장에 관한 연구)

  • Present study was performed to describe the growth of Leptochela gracilis (STIMPSON, 1860), the dominant species of the coastal water near Kanghwa Island, Korea. Samples were collected from 1 sampling point by long bag seine net at monthly interval from April 1993 to January 1994 except for August 1993. In the population study of Leptochela gracilis, ovigerous female has appeared from April to September 1993 and the ratio (egg-bearing female/female) showed over 70% from May to July 1993. Female individuals were predominant from May 1993 to January 1994 and it was found that sex ratios were not significantly different between pregnant and non-pregnant period(p>0.05). The population of Leptochela gracilis was divided into 2 types of generation; i) short term generation. and ii) long term generation. Longevity of the long term generation was presumed to vary from 12 to 15 months. In the case of short term generation, spawned by egg-bearing stock of September, however, it was not certain whether they absorbed in the long term generation, thus overcome winter season or die after December by environment factors. The growth in cavalcade length of the long term generation was better fitted to Pauly and Gaschutz model than Von Bertalanffy.

  • In the mobile Ad hoc Network(MANET), improving technique for management and control of topology is recognized as an important part of the next generation network. In this paper, we proposed an efficient node life time management of ATICC(Adaptive Time Interval Clustering Control) in Ad-hoc Networks. Ad-hoc Network is a self-configuration network or wireless multi-hop network based on inference topology. This is a method of path routing management node for increasing the network life time through the periodical route alternation. The proposed ATICC algorithm is time interval control technique depended on the use of the battery energy while node management considering the attribute of node and network routing. This can reduce the network traffic of nodes consume energy cost effectively. As a result, it could be improving the network life time by using timing control method in ad-hoc networks.

  • Tetrodotoxin (TTX) is the purified active principle responsible for tetrodon (Puffer-fish) poisoning which has long been known in the Orient. The pharmacological actions of TTX have been rather extensively investigated. Two of the most prominent effects of intravenousely administered TTX are severe hypotension and respiratory paralysis resulting from its depressant actions on tissues. This depressant actions of TTX in turn result from the selective inhibition of sodium-carrying mechanism which is essential to generation of the action potential. TTX differs from local anesthetics in that it does not affect potassium conductance. Although the mechanism of the hypotensive action of TTX remains a subject of controversy, most investigator agree that TTX-induced hypotension is caused by alteration in the blood vessels rather than the heart. Not only the study on the effects of TTX on cardiac function is meager but the results of reported works are often contradictory. The present study was undertaken to investigate the effect of TTX on the electrocardiogram of the rabbit and to compare them with well known electrocardiographical characteristics found in digitalis and quinidine intoxicated animals. The results obtained from the present study are summarized as follows. 1. No changes were found in P-R interval and QRS duration after i.v. administration of $1.0\;{\mu}g/kg\;to\;1.5\;{\mu}g/kg$ TTX to the animals. It is obvious that there were no conduction disturbance between atria and ventricles as well as in the ventricular tissue. 2. In $1.0\;{\mu}g/kg$ TTX group, S-T interval and T-P segment were not changed whereas marked changes were observed in $1.5\;{\mu}g/kg$ TTX group. 3. The first and second degree A-V blocks appeared in the $2.0\;{\mu}g/kg$ TTX group. 4. TTX differs from digitalis and quinidine in that it does not cause S-T interval depression and T-wave inversion. In contrast with digitalis, TTX caused Q-T interval prolongation.

  • This paper addresses a method for nonlinear controller construction for a general nonlinear system with the separation of controller construction and manipulated values generation. The nonlinear system model is firstly expressed with the coefficients of state-depended representation. The nonlinear control is designed without any approximation based on the model with state-depended representation. At the stage of controller implementation for the nonlinear system, the manipulated values are calculated accurately by use of an algorithm of the numerical analysis.   • The main purpose of the paper is to derive asymptotic formulae for performance characteristics(throughput, delay) of large-scale token-passing network with buffered stations and to optimize the buffer capacity with respect to the probability of data generation. We consider two versions of token-passing network: uniform and nonuniform token-passing time interval. All results obtained are supported by simulations.
