아스팔트 鋪裝道路의 確率論的 表層設計 (Pobabilistic Design of Asphalt Pavement Surface Courae)

  • A prototype probabilistic approach to thickness design for asphalt pavement surface course was developed using first-order second moment probability model. The tensile strain (load effect) developing at the bottom of surface layer due to the wheel load and the critical strain (resistance) of asphalt concrete were used as random variables for pavement reliability analysis. Based on the parameters for load effect and resistance data collected from reference and field, simulated data were generated by Monte Carlo method for reliability evaluation of the pavement for a typical rural highway. Thickness of pavement surface course was defined in terms of target reliability of the pavement, growth factor of traffic, design life of pavement and resistance of the asphalt concrete to be placed on the pavement. According to these rationales, prototype thickness design chrats were sugested through example studies. From these, similar design charts can be developed for many pavements if appropriate data and target reliability are determined.

  • The exhaust system of automobile is faced with random or spectrum types of fatigue loads during usage life and so needs to be closely estimated for quality and performance to have enough certainty on design endurance lift during preliminary design process. Structural operation conditions, operation load history, property of material and manufacturing process etc. should be considered by performing experiment approach. Using the software program for predicting fatigue life quickly and exactly in preliminary design stage saves plenty of time and cost generated by fatigue tests. In this paper, fatigue life prediction was performed on the basis of fatigue analysis using MSC/FATIGUE and load data from field test and the life of development items was estimated and compared through the results.

발전시스템의 발전에너지기대치 및 신뢰도 계산에 관한 연구 (A new approach to calculations of the expected energy and reliability indices in the generations system)

  • This paper derives two new algorithms to calculate the expected energy generated and the reliability indices of a generating system when the loading order of the generating units and the load data of the system are given. These algorithms use the probabilistic simulation model considering the two-block system, and can be easily extended to the three or more block system if necesssary. Suggested model I is a more improved algorithm from the conventional ones, in which the load duration curve is used as is in any other conventional algorithms. And model II, by using the newly developed " ENERGY CURVE", remarkably saves the computing time with reducing the computational errors. Case studies were carried out for the actual load data of Korea Electric Company.c Company.

AE에 의한 알루미나 세라믹스의 Microcrack 생성과 파괴거동의 평가 (Evaluation of Fracture Behavior and Formation of Microcrack of Alumina Ceramics by Acoustic Emission)

  • Detection of microcrack in {{{{ {Al }_{2 } {O }_{3 } }} ceramics were studided by AE(acoustic emission) technique with 4-point bending test in order to evaluate the fracture process and formation of microcrack. Fully-dense alu-mina ceramics having a different grain size were fabricated by varing the hot-pressing temperature. The grain size of alumina increased with increasing the hot-pressing temperature whereas the bending strength decreasd. The microcracks were observed by SEM and TEM. The generation of AE event increased with increasing the applied load and many AE event was generated at maximum applied load. Alumina with smaller grain size shows the generation of many AE event resulting in an increase of microcrack formation. An intergranular fracture is predominantly observed in fine-grained alumina whereas intragranular fracture occurs predominantly in coarse-grained alumina,. Analysis of micorstructure and AE prove that primary mi-crocracks occur within grain-boundaries of alumina. The larger microcracking were formed by the growth and/or coalesence of primary microcracks. Then the materials become to fracuture by main crack gen-eration at the maximum applied load.

Balancing Inter-Ring Loads on SONET Dual-Ring without Demand Splitting

  • In the survivability and simplicity aspect, SONET Self-healing Ring(SHR) is one of the most important schemes for the high-speed telecommunication networks. Since the ring capacity requirement is defined by the largest STS-1 cross-section in the ring, load balancing is the key issue in the design of SONET SHR. Recently, most of the research on load balancing problem have been concentrated on the SONET single-ring case. However, in certain applications, multiple-ring configuration is necessary because of the geographical limitations or the need for extra bandwidth. In this paper, the load balancing problem for SONET dual-ring is considered by assuming symmetric inter-ring demands. We present a linear programming based formulation of the problem. Initial solution and improvement procedures are presented, which solves the routing and interconnection between the two rings for each demand. Computational experiments are performed on various size of networks with randomly generated demand sets. Results show that the proposed algorithm is excellent in both the solution quality and the computational time requirement. The average error bound of the solutions obtained is 0.26% of the optimum.

3차원 컨테이너 적재 문제를 위한 발견적 해법 (A Heuristic for the Container Loading Problem)

  • A new heuristic algorithm for the heterogeneous single container loading problem is proposed in this paper, This algorithm fills empty spaces with the homogeneous load-blocks of identically oriented boxes and splits residual space into three sub spaces starting with an empty container. An initial loading pattern is built by applying this approach recursively until all boxes are exhausted or no empty spaces are left. In order to generate alternative loading patterns, the load-blocks of pattern determining spaces are replaced with the alternatives that were generated on determining the load-blocks. An improvement algorithm compares these alternatives with the initial pattern to find improved one. Numerical experiments with 715 test cases show the good performance of this new algorithm, above all for problems with strongly heterogeneous boxes.

  • 철도차량용 추진시스템은 안전성과 신뢰성 때문에 성능을 평가해야만 한다. 일반적으로 Flywheel Type시험방법은 시험설비로 널리 사용되고 있다 그러나 Flywheel에 의해 생기는 기계적 관성은 변하기 어렵고 실제적인 주행저항을 표현할 수 없다. 본 연구는 다양한 차량부하의 개발에 초점을 두고 수행되었다. 그렇기 때문에 실제적인 차량 부하 특성을 얻기 위해 벡터모터에 의해 제어되는 다양한 차량부하를 사용하는 방법을 제안하였고 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 결과를 확인하였다.

  • Probabilistic Load Flow(PLF) solution based on the method of moments is used for security assessment of bus voltages in power systems. Bus voltages, line currents, line admittances, generated real and reactive power, and bus loads are treated as complex random variables. These complex random variables are known in terms of probability density functions(PDF). Also, expressions for the convolutions of complex random variables in terms of moments and cumulants have been derived. Proposed PLF solution using the method of moments is fast, because the process of convolution of various complex random variables is performed in moment and cumulant domain. Therefore, the method is applied to security assessment of power systems in this paper. Finally, system operator also can be used information of security assessment to improve reliability of power systems.

  • industrial site has led to a growing concern for harmonic distortion and the resulting impacts on system equipment and operation. Harmonic current is generated by the operation of non-linear load, it means that voltage and current waveforms exhibit a non-linear relationship. Harmonics cause increase losses in the customer and utility power system components. This paper describes application of instantaneous active and reactive theory for the compensation of harmonic currents in three-phase non-linear load.

  • This paper presents a single-phase parallel active power filter with an analog control circuit to eliminate for harmonic source currents generated by nonlinear loads. The proposed system removes the harmonic source currents by injecting a compensation current that is 180' out of phase with the load harmonic current. The detection of the load harmonics is realized by a simple new structure, referred to the Notch Filter with GIC (Generalized Impedance Converter), which has higher Q than existing harmonic detecters and a simpler structure. The compensation current is obtained using the proposed harmonic detection circuit, DC-Link voltage, and output current of the full-bridge inverter controlled current mode PWM controller. The operation of the proposed system is verified experimentally.
