  • In general, post tensioned (PT) flat plate slab systems have been used as a Gravity Load Resisting System (GLRS) in buildings. Thus, these systems should be constructed with Lateral Force Resisting Systems (LFRS) such as shear walls and moment resisting frames. When lateral loads such as winds or earthquakes occur, lateral load resisting systems undergo displacement by which connected gravity systems experience lateral displacement. Therefore, GLRS should have some lateral displacement capacity in order to hold gravity loads under severe earthquakes and winds. Since there are the limited number of researches on PT flat plate slab systems, the behavior of the systems have not been well defined. This study investigated the cyclic behavior of post tensioned flat plate slab systems. For this purpose, an experimental test was carried out using 4 interior PT flat plate slab-column specimens. All specimens have bottom reinforcement in the slab around the slab-column connection. Test variables of this experimental study are vertical load level and tendon distribution patterns.

  • An orthotropic steel deck system is widely adapted form for a long-span bridge. It has many advantages, such as the big reduction of dead weight, the simplicity for erection, and the reduction of the construction period. However, an orthotropic steel deck system requires a lot of welding work, which may result in defects and deformation of connection. Therefore, the research for the general behavior and fatigue strength of the several details in orthotropic steel deck bridge is necessary. The fatigue failure with distortion results from secondary stress by out-of-plane deformation; these kinds of cracks are very difficult to measure, and can not be precisely calculated through finite element analysis. This stress concentration phenomenon generates the fatigue failure around the lower scallop of the transverse rib. This paper presents improved details of the intersection between the longitudinal rib and the transverse rib of an orthotropic steel deck bridge by the third dimensional hit size test, and the finite element method, which can minimize local stress through parametric study.

  • Flip chip technology is keeping pace with the increasing connection density of the ICs and is capable of transferring semiconductor performance to the printed circuit board.   • When ESS(Energy Storage System) is under normal operation, island situation can be occur because of grid accidents. When island operation occur, the system mode switches in to UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply) mode to supply stabled load power. To decide island operation, checking grid magnitude or frequency is general. But regulation for sag and swell is required. In this paper, it proposes grid connection error detection algorithm for UPS operation when sag and swell occurs in grid, and analyzed by simulation.

  • We present a test of the emission statistics of active galactic nuclei (AGN), probing the connection between the red-noise temporal power spectra and multi-modal flux distributions known from observations. We simulate AGN lightcurves under the assumption of uniform stochastic emission processes for different power-law indices of their respective power spectra. For sufficiently shallow slopes (power-law indices (${\beta}{\leq}1$), the flux distributions (histograms) of the resulting lightcurves are approximately Gaussian. For indices corresponding to steeper slopes (${\beta}{\geq}1$), the flux distributions become multi-modal. This finding disagrees systematically with results of recent mm/radio observations. Accordingly, we conclude that the emission from AGN does not necessarily originate from uniform stochastic processes even if their power spectra suggest otherwise. Possible mechanisms include transitions between different activity states and/or the presence of multiple, spatially disconnected, emission regions.

  • The conventional grid connected PV(Photovoltaic) system has a unstable output pattern due to its dependence on the weather condition, although solar-cell array averagely has a regular output characteristics to have a peak output nearly at noon. Therefore assuming the high density grid connection in the future, this unstable output pattern can be one of the main reasons to generate power disturbance such as voltage variation, frequency variation and harmonic voltage generation in low voltage distribution line. However general grid connected solar-cell system do not have functions to cope with these disturbances. Therefore this study proposed a advanced type grid connected PV system with functions to suppress output power fluctuation due to solar-cell array output variation and showed the levelling effect of fluctuation due to instantaneous array output variation.

  • Adaptive hypertext transfer protocol (HTTP) streaming has become a new trend to support adaptivity in video delivery. An HTTP streaming client needs to estimate exactly resource availability and resource demand. In this paper, we focus on the most important resource which is bandwidth. A new and general formulation for throughput estimation is presented taking into account previous values of instant throughput and round trip time. Besides, we introduce for the first time the use of bitrate estimation in HTTP streaming. The experiments show that our approach can effectively cope with drastic changes in connection throughput and video bitrate.

  • The present time this country is faced with general hospital building remodeling time from the constructing age. In architecture, one of the reconstruction of consciousness, remodeling significance Is restoration of capacity a generally structure. Through this research we acquire concluding remarks. 1) In hospital extension and reconstruction works set a different counterplot proportionately with part that are the ward areas, the outpatient areas, the diagnosis/treatment areas, the supply areas, the administration areas, the education/research areas, the miscellaneous areas etc. According to department's character and use various purposes take proper measures. The case of K hospital has been extended outskirts the main building.
