Family and child educators have an obligation to ensure that their students understand, conceptually and pragmatically, the major research methods. The purpose of this study was to develop a qualitative methodology course for graduate students majoring in family and child studies. Three stages of course development were followed; investigating how methodology courses are offered in family and child studies, discussing what topics and components should be covered in a qualitative methodology course, and planning how the topics and components should be taught. The proposed qualitative methodology course includes; understanding philosophical and theoretical frameworks, teaming the general process of a qualitative research, comparing different qualitative traditions of inquiry, discussing emerging issues related to qualitative research, and conducting experimental field work. This study can provide an academic syllabus for family and child educators, who are interested in teaching a qualitative methodology course for graduate students.

Purpose: This article explored issues arising from secondary analysis of qualitative data and analyzed the results of qualitative secondary analysis studies published in English, focusing on the methodological aspects. Method: A total of 29 studies were identified as qualitative secondary analysis studies, retrieving from the CINAHL database from 1982 to 3rd week of April 2003. These studies were analyzed by publication year, research method, and type of approach to secondary analysis. Result: The year that the qualitative secondary analysis study first published was 1992 and the number of the studies using secondary analysis has increased after the middle of 1990s. Grounded theory was the one the most frequently used(n=11, 37.9%) and phenomenological study the second most(n=6, 20.7%). In terms of types of approach, fifteen studies(51.7%) focused on the specific concepts that were not explored in the primary studies. Nine(31.0%) focused on the specific types of participants. Six were aimed to integrate contexts or perspectives to generate more general and abstract analysis of qualitative data. Conclusion: The results of this article will stimulate methodological discussion of qualitative secondary analysis and activate qualitative studies using secondary analysis.

본 논문의 목적은 질적 연구방법 패러다임의 중요한 특성들을 살펴보고 이러한 연구방법을 어떻게 우리 나라 가족치료 분야에 적용할 수 있을 것인가를 분석하는 것이다. 먼저 질적 연구방법의 일반적 특성과 연구설계의 전형적인 특징들이 기술된다. 둘째, 가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 의미와 적절성 그리고 이의 구체적 적용방법과 관련된 내용들이 논의된다. 셋째, 가족치료 분야에서 질적 연구방법을 수행할 때 고려되어야 할 핵심적 이슈들이 검토된다. 질적 연구방법은 가족치료를 총체적으로 볼 수 있게 하는 체계적이고 과학적인 방법을 제공한다. 이러한 연구방법은 가족치료 분야에 새로운 조사연구 패러다임을 추가하고 이를 통해 가족치료의 다양성을 증가시킬 수 있다. 또한 가족구조와 현실의 총체적 표현이 가능한 다양한 질적 연구방법들은 가족형태와 경험의 복잡성과 다양성을 검토하는데 도움을 준다. 따라서 질적 연구방법은 가족치료의 과학 및 실천을 향상시킬 잠재성을 지니고 있고 가족치료 연구자는 질적 연구방법을 향상시킬 잠재성을 지니고 있다. 결론적으로 우리 나라 가족치료 분야에서의 질적 연구방법의 발전을 위한 합의를 제시한다.

This research discussed a general concept on the qualitative research methods in mathematics education. It provided a classification of research methods in mathematics education. It also described research trends in mathematics education. It addressed how research design facilitates formulating a research problem, selecting a research design, choosing who and what to study, deciding how to approach Participants, selecting means to collect data choosing how to analyzing data, and interpreting data and applying the analysis. This study addressed the issues involved in choosing relevant populations and in selecting and sampling qualitative data. It described how populations are conceptualized and distinguished between probability sampling and criterion based selection. It discussed not only data arrangement such as, cross-sectional and categorical indexing, non-cross- sectional data organization, but also diagram flow chart matrix, cognitive map, family tree to facilitate analyzing data.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the methodological strategies for the architectural design field of study mainly focused on qualitative and quantitative research designs. Firstly, this paper addresses the characteristics of the six approaches including their methodological aspects in general. Each strategy is assessed by the different approaches to give full insights in it. Secondly, it distinguishes the differences among six research approaches especially derived from qualitative and quantitative research designs. The differences are discussed in terms of the strengths and weaknesses of each strategy. Finally, this paper attempts to discuss about possible applications for introducing approaches to the research topic with which the exemplified research topic, a design evaluation system, deals. To investigate the applicability of the design methods employed, the following topic has been stated; how to develop a design evaluation system and what to be considered for unfolding the thrown topic in terms of strategic approaches in the field of architectural design researches reviewed through the study.

본 연구는 수학교육에서 혼합 연구방법(양적 연구방법과 질적 연구방법을 혼합한)을 활용한 연구에서 질적 연구 방법이 어떻게 적용되고 있는지를 분석하고, 질적 접근의 적용이 연구 목적 성취에 기여할 수 있는 시사점을 탐색하고 논의하고자 한다. 이러한 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여, 본 연구에서는 한국수학교육학회의 초등수학교육 학회지에 2012년 게재된 전체 16편의 논문 중, 혼합 연구법을 활용한 논문 5편을 분석 대상으로 선정하였다. 비교 항목별 분석 결과를 양화된 수치로 간략하게 제시하던 기존의 혼합 연구물에 대한 분석 연구와는 달리, 본 연구는 질적 연구자의 관점에서, 자료 수집 및 자료 분석 방법, 연구 참여자 및 샘플링 선정 등을 중심으로 심도 있게 분석하여 그 결과와 시사점을 질적으로 제시하고 있다.

For rational human value judgement and evaluation, provision of clear evaluation data, objective value judgement criteria, and properly generalized methods are required. For instance, this is true for software quality evaluation, and the measure of software quality and the weighting method of evaluation target directly affect final decisions. However it is not easy to find a generalized method for the software quality evaluation or product selection, because of its complex characteristics. In this paper, we apply the qualitative preference method based on quantitative belief functions to find a general weighing method for the software quality evaluation. In particular, the qualitative preference method, in which the differentiated preference expression is possible, is conceptually expanded for general applications in future. For this purpose, we hierarchically differentiate the strong preference relation from the weak preference relation, and show an example of quantification of software quality evaluation on different applications, by comparing the qualitative preference method with AHP. We believe that the application domain of this method is not limited to the software quality evaluation and it is very useful to apply this results to other SE areas, e.g., metric selection with different views and riority determination of practices to be assessed in the SPICE.

본 연구는 수학교육 관련 연구에서 질적 접근을 적용한 논문들의 질적 접근 활용양상을 탐색하고, 질적 접근의 타당도와 신실성 향상 방안을 논의하고, 수학교육 분야에서 질적 접근 활용에 대한 시사점과 제언을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 2019년부터 2020년까지 한국수학교육학회지 시리즈E <수학교육논문집>에 게재된 13편의 논문에 대한 기초분석을 실시하여 전반적인 경향성을 진단하였다. 질적연구 적용 양상에 대한 경향성은, 적극적 질적연구 6편, 반(semi) 질적연구 3편, 혼합연구 3편, 문헌연구와 질적연구의 혼입 1편 등으로 나타났다. 기초분석 결과를 토대로, 13편의 논문 중 질적 접근을 적극 활용하여 풍부한 논의를 가능하게 할 수 있는 6편의 논문에 대한 질적 분석을 실행하였다. 6편의 논문의 방법론에 대한 세밀한 질적 분석 결과는 질적연구의 타당도와 신실성(trustworthiness)과 관련된 이슈들을 해당 연구의 맥락에서 상세하게 논의하고 있다. 아울러, 이러한 질적 분석의 결과에 기초하여, 향후 수학교육 분야에서 질적연구를 활용할 때 유념해야 할 사항들을 제시하고 있다.

본 연구의 목적은 최근 정부 R&D투자에 대한 질적인 평가가 강조됨에 따라, 국가과학기술연구회 주관 융합연구사업(창의형융합연구사업, 융합연구단사업)과 일반수탁연구사업의 연구 성과에 대해 정성적 관점에서 상대적 효율성을 분석하는 것이다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 연구 성과의 상대적 효율성을 광범위하게 사용되고 있는 DEA를 활용하였다. 분석대상은 한국기초과학지원연구원의 사례를 중심으로 진행하였으며, DEA를 위한 투입지표로 순연구비 및 인건비를 활용하여 논문 및 특허출원 수에 대한 정량적인 평가와 논문의 IF 및 특허의 SMART3를 통한 정성적인 평가를 비교분석 하였다. 분석결과 CCR가준 및 BCC기준에서 정성적인 관점에서 융합연구사업이 높은 효율성을 나타냈다. 이는 융합연구가 일반 수탁연구 보다 높은 수준의 연구가 이루어지고 있다는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구의 결과로 최근 정부에서 강조하고 있는 질적 평가에 대한 기준을 제시하고, 아울러 본 연구를 확대하여 향후 모든 기관에 대한 정성적 관점의 효율성 평가를 통해 인력과 연구비의 합리적인 R&D 투자선택에 위한 정책 및 연구과제기획에 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

본 연구는 수학교육 연구를 위한 다양한 관점의 제공에 기여할 수 있는 현상학(phenomenology)을 수학교육의 연구방법론적 측면에서 고찰하고자 한다. 현상학이란 현상과 경험에 대한 연구이며, 현상학적 연구는 무엇인가를 경험한 개인한테서 그가 경험한 것의 의미를 밝히고자 하는 것이다. 이렇게 함으로써 현상학이 수학교육 연구의 한 가지 새로운 질적 연구방법론으로 어떤 가능성을 열어줄 수 있는지 탐색하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 수학교육과 질적 연구방법의 동향, 현상학의 주요 개념들, 현상학적 연구를 위한 현상학적 방법, 그리고 현상학적 연구 방법과 절차에 대해 살펴보았다. 결론으로는 현상학은 수학교육이 "체험"에 초점을 두게 하고, 수학교육에서 생활세계의 인식에 대한 중요성을 부각시키며, 그리고 수학교육의 전반적인 현상에 대한 본질과 경험의 의미를 파악 가능하게 해 준다.
