The estimation of pile bearing capacity is important since the design details are determined from the result. There are numerous ways of determining the pile design load, but only few of them are chosen in the actual design. According to the recent investigation in Korea, the formulas proposed by Meyerhof based on the SPT N values are most frequently chosen in the design stage. In the study, various static and dynamic formulas have been used in predicting the allowable bearing capacity of a pile. Further, the reliability of these formulas has been verified by comparing the perdicted values with the static and dynamic load test measurements. Also in cases, these methods of pile bearing capacity determination do not take the time effect consideration, the actual allowable load as determined from pile load test indicates severe deviation from the design value. The principle results of this study are summarized as follows : A a result of estimate the reliability in criterion of the Davisson method, in was showed that Terzaghi & Peck > Chin > Meyerhof > Modified Meyerhof method was the most reliable method for the prediction of bearing capacity. Comparisons of the various pile-driving formulas showed that Modified Engineering News was the most reliable method. However, a significant error happened between dynamic bearing capacity equation was judged that uncertainty of hammer efficiency, characteristics of variable , time effect etc... was not considered. As a result of considering time effect increased skin friction capacity higher than end bearing capacity. It was found out that it would be possible to increase the skin friction capacity 1.99 times higher than a driving. As a result of considering 7 day's time effect, it was obtained that Engineering News. Modified Engineering News. Hiley, Danish, Gates, CAPWAP(CAse Pile Wave Analysis Program ) analysis for relation, respectively, $Q_{u(Restrike)}$$Q_{u(EOID)}$ = 0.971 $t_{0.1}$, 0.968 $t_{0.1}$, 1.192 $t_{0.1}$, 0.88 $t_{0.1}$, 0.889 $t_{0.1}$, 0.966 $t_{0.1}$, 0.889 $t_{0.1}$, 0.966 $t_{0.1}$
Purpose: To measure reliable glomerular filtration rate by using the representative values of transplanted renal depths, which are measured with ultrasonography. Materials and Methods: We included 54 patients (26 men, 28 women), with having both renal scintigraphy and ultrasonography after renal transplantation. We measured GFR with Gates' method using the renal depth measured by ultrasonography, and median and mean ones in each patient. We compared GFR derived from ultrasonography-measured renal depth with GFR derived from median and mean renal depths. The correlation coefficients were obtained among GFR derived from ultrasonography-measured renal depths, median and mean renal depths under linear regression analysis. We determined whether GFR derived from median or mean renal depth could substitute GFR derived from ultrasonography-measured renal depth with Bland-Altman method. We analyze the expected errors of the GFR using representative renal depth in terms of age, sex, weight, height, creatinine value, and body surface. Results: The transplanted renal depths range from 3.20 cm to 5.96 cm. The mean value and standard deviation of renal depths measured by ultrasonography are $4.09{\pm}0.65cm$ in men, and $4.24{\pm}0.78cm$ in women. The median value of renal depths measured by ultrasonography is 4.36 cm in men and 4.14 cm in women. The GFR derived from median renal depth is more consistent with GFR derived from ultrasonography-measured renal depth than GFR derived from mean renal depth. Differences of GFR derived from median and ultrasonography-measured renal depth are not significantly different in the groups classified with creatinine value, age, sex, height, weight and body surface. Conclusion: When median value is adapted as a representative renal depth, we could obtain reliable GFR in transplanted kidney simply.

Two implementation methods for SOVA (Soft Output Viterbi Algorithm)of Turbo decoder are applied and verfied. The first method is the combination of a trace back (TB) logic for the survivor state and a double trace back logic for the weight value in two-step SOVA. This architecure of two-setp SOVA decoder allows important savings in area and high-speed processing compared with that of one-step SOVA decoding using register exchange (RE) or trace-back (TB) method. Second method is adjusting the reliability value with a scaling factor between 0.25 and 0.33 in order to compensate for the distortion for a rate 1/3 and 8-state SOVA decoder with a 256-bit frame size. The proposed schemes contributed to higher SNR performance by 2dB at the BER 10E-4 than that of SOVA decoder without a scaling factor. In order to verify the suggested schemes, the SOVA decoder is testd using Xillinx XCV 1000E FPGA, which runs at 33.6MHz of the maximum speed with 845 latencies and it features 175K gates in the case of 256-bit frame size.

In this paper, the proposed $gamma({\gamma})$ line system is developed for reducing the error between non-linear gamma curve produced by a formula and result produced by hardware implementation. The proposed algorithm and system is based on the specific gamma value 2.2, namely the formula is represented by {0,1}$^{2.2}$ and the bit width of input and out data is 10bit. In order to reduce the error, the system is using least squares polynomial of the numerical method which is calculating the best fitting polynomial through a set of points. The proposed gamma line is consisting of nine kinds of quadratic equations, each with their own overlap sections to get more precise. Based on the algorithm verified by $MATLAB^{TM}$ 7.0, the proposed system is implemented by using Verilog-HDL. The proposed system has 2 clock latency; 1 result per clock. The error range (LSB) is -4 and +3. Its standard deviation is 1.287956238. The total gate count of system is 2,083 gates and the maximum timing is 15.56[ns].
A hydrological grey model is developed to forecast short-term river runoff from the Naju watershed located at upstream of the Youngsan estuary dam in Korea. The runoff of the Naju watershed is measured in real time at the Naju streamflow gauge station, which is a key station for forecasting the upstream inflow and operating the gates of the estuary dam in flood period. The model's governing equation is formulated on the basis of the grey system theory. The model parameters are reparameterized in combination with the grey system parameters and estimated with the annealing-simplex method In conjunction with an objective function, HMLE. To forecast accurately runoff, the fifth order differential equation was adopted as the governing equation of the model in consideration of the statistic values between the observed and forecast runoff. In calibration, RMSE values between the observed and simulated runoff of two and six Hours ahead using the model range from 3.1 to 290.5 $m^{3}/s,\;R^2$ values range from 0.909 to 0.999. In verification, RMSE values range from 26.4 to 147.4 $m^{3}/s,\;R^2$ values range from 0.940 to 0.998, compared to the observed data. In forecasting runoff in real time, the relative error values with lead-time and river stage range from -23.4 to $14.3\%$ and increase as the lead time increases. The results in this study demonstrate that the proposed model can reasonably and efficiently forecast runoff for one to six Hours ahead.

In this paper, we propose an effective design of transform hardware for real-time HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding) encoder. HEVC encoder determines the transform mode($4{\times}4$, $8{\times}8$, $16{\times}16$, $32{\times}32$) by comparing RDCost. RDCost require a significant amount of computation and time because it is determined by bit-rate and distortion which is computated via transform, quantization, dequantization, and inverse transform. This paper therefore proposes a new method for transform mode determination using sum of transform coefficient. Also, proposed hardware architecture is implemented with multiplexer, recursive adder/subtracter, and shifter only to derive reduction of the computation. Proposed method for transform mode determination results in an increase of 0.096 in BD-PSNR, 0.057 in BD-Bitrate, and decrease of 9.3% in encoding time by comparing HM 10.0. The hardware which is proposed is implemented by 256K logic gates in TSMC 130nm process. Its maximum operation frequency is 200MHz. At 140MHz, the proposed hardware can support 4K Ultra HD video encoding at 60fps in real time.
Since climate factors, such as precipitation, temperature, etc., show repeated patterns every year, it can be said that future changes can be predicted by analyzing past climate data. As with groundwater, seasonal variations predominate. Therefore, when a drought occurs, the groundwater level is also lowered. Thus, a change in the groundwater level can represent a drought. Like precipitation, groundwater level changes also have a high correlation with drought, so many researchers use Standard Groundwater Level Index (SGI) to which the Standard Precipitation Index (SPI) method is applied to evaluate the severity of droughts and predict drought trends. However, due to the strong interferences caused by the recent increase in groundwater use, it is difficult to represent the droughts of regions or entire watersheds by only using groundwater level change data using the SPI or SGI methods, which analyze data from one representative observation station. Therefore, if the long-term groundwater level changes of all the provinces of a watershed are analyzed, the overall trend can be shown even if there is use interference. Thus, future groundwater level changes and droughts can be more accurately predicted. Therefore, in this study, it was confirmed that the groundwater level changes in the last 5 years compared with the monthly average groundwater level changes of the monitoring wells installed before 2015 appeared similar to the drought occurrence pattern. As a result of analyzing the correlation with the water storage yields of 3,423 agricultural reservoirs that do not immediately open their sluice gates in the cases of droughts or floods, it was confirmed that the correlation was higher than 56% in the natural state. Therefore, it was concluded that it is possible to re-evaluate agricultural droughts through long-term groundwater level change analyses.

The Road Management Administration is cracking down on overloaded vehicles by installing low-speed or high-speed WIMs at toll gates and main lines on expressways. However, in recent years, the act of intelligently evading the overloaded-vehicle control system of the Road Management Administration by illegally manipulating the variable axle of an overloaded truck is increasing. In this manipulation, when entering the overloaded-vehicle checkpoint, all axles of the vehicle are lowered to pass normally, and when driving on the main road, the variable axle of the vehicle is illegally lifted with the axle load exceeding 10 tons alarmingly. Therefore, this study developed a technology to detect the state of the variable axle of a truck driving on the road using roadside camera images. In particular, this technology formed the basis for cracking down on overloaded vehicles by lifting the variable axle after entering the checkpoint and linking the vehicle with the account information of the checkpoint. Fundamentally, in this study, the tires of the vehicle were recognized using the Mask RCNN algorithm, the recognized tires were virtually arranged before and after the checkpoint, and the height difference of the vehicle was measured from the arrangement to determine whether the variable axle was lifted after the vehicle left the checkpoint.
The background and objective of this study are as follows. Gwangheemun, one of the 4 small gates of Seoul Castle is a space to represent ordinary people and it is a valuable cultural heritage that shows the process of technical transition of fortification technology during Chosun Dynasty. It is a place that we can expect to play a role as a field where history and culture mix and communicate together. But currently, the environment and facilities around Gwangheemun have fallen behind and become old, so they need to be reorganized as their local feature is not shown distinctly. We need to vitalize the new traditional space that shows local feature. This study has drawn out the method, contents and the result of study like as follows. This study aims to establish an identity based on the historical and cultural backgrounds and suggest the contents to vitalize the space of Gwangheemun as a traditional cultural heritage. By this, this study aims to create a historical and cultural space where people can enjoy, eat and look around. Therefore, based on the historical and cultural feature, it gives an identity as moonlight street, and it has developed and suggested 5 contents to vitalize space: Gwangheemun maintenance, plan, castle restoration plan, village inside the castle, village outside the castle and fashion art street. Contents to vitalize space has a meaning as a specific developmen method of urban restoration, and we can expect to be used as a direction to develop the area to enhance the cultural quality of life of both inhabitants and visitors by forming the brand identity of surrounding area with traditional cultural heritage.

In this paper, we propose an image downscaler used in multimedia video applications, such as DTV, TV-PIP, PC-video, camcorder, videophone and so on. The proposed image downscaler provides a scaled image of high-quality and high-performance. This paper will explain the scaling theory using two-dimensional digital filters. It is the method that removes an aliasing noise and decreases the hardware complexity, compared with Pixel-drop and Upsamling. Also, this paper will prove it improves scaling precisians and decreases the loss of data, compared with the Scaler32, the Bt829 of Brooktree, and the SAA7114H of Philips. The proposed downscaler consists of the following four blocks: line memory, vertical scaler, horizontal scaler, and FIFO memory. In order to reduce the hardware complexity, the using digital filters are implemented by the multiplexer-adder type scheme and their all the coefficients can be simply implemented by using shifters and adders. It also decreases the loss of high frequency data because it provides the wider BW of 6MHz as adding the compensation filter. The proposed downscaler is modeled by using the Verilog-HDL and the model is verified by using the Cadence simulator. After the verification is done, the model is synthesized into gates by using the Synopsys. The synthesized downscaler is Placed and routed by the Mentor with the IDEC-C632 0.65${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ library for further IC implementation. The IC master is fixed in size by 4,500${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$\times$4,500${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The active layout size of the proposed downscaler is 2,528${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$$\times$3,237${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$.
