기계적 편향판 설치위치의 변화에 따른 유동특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Flow Characteristics with the Installed Location Change of Mechanical Deflector)

  • Thrust vector control is the method which generates the side force and roll moment by controlling exhausted gas directly in a rocket nozzle. TVC is classified by mechanical and fluid dynamic methods. Mechanical methods can change the flow direction by several objects installed in a rocket nozzle exhaust such as tapered ramp tabs and jet vane. Fluid dynamic methods control the flight direction with the injection of secondary gaseous flows into the rocket nozzle. The tapered ramp tabs of mechanical methods are used in this paper. They installed at the rear in the rocket nozzle could be freely moved along axial and radial direction on the mounting ring to provide the mass flow rate which is injected from the rocket nozzle. TVC of the tapered ramp tabs has the potential to produce both large axial thrust and high lateral force. We have conducted the experimental research and flow analysis of ramp tabs to show the performance and the structural integrity of the TVC. The experiments are carried out with the supersonic cold flow system and the schlieren graph. This paper provides to analyze the location of normal shock wave and distribution of surface pressure on the region enclosed by the tapered ramp tabs.

  • Bromotrifluoromethane(halon-1301)과 bromochlorodifluoromethane(halon-1211)은 우수한 열역학적 성질에 의해 소화제로 널리 사용되어 오고 있다. 그러나 halon-1301과 halon-1211의 사용과 생산은 국제 환경조약인 Montreal protocol에 의해 점차 사용이 중지되고 있으며, 본격적인 규제에 대한 대책 마련이 요구되는 시점에 있다. 그리하여, 할론 사용규제와 더불어 각국은 할론 소화제 대신 HFCs를 사용하는 방안이 제시되었으며, 이미 선진국에서는 다양한 종류의 소화제 개발을 발표하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 대체 소화제로서 소화제의 배출시간을 단축시켜주는 가압가스 nitrogen과 halon 대체 물질인 HFCs 계열 물질중 chlorodifluoromethane(HFC-22), pentafluoroethane(HFC-125), 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane(HFC-l34a)을 선정하여 이들간의 이성분계 혼합물에 대한 상호 용해력을 알아보기 위해 상평형을 측정하였다. 상평형은 기-액 순환이 동시에 이루어지는 circultion type 장치에서 측정되었으며, 실험온도는 실제 소화제 저장탱크의 온도범위인 283.15-303.15K로 선정하였고, 압력범위는 이 온도범위에서 탱크에 걸릴 수 있는 최저압력과 최고압력보다 충분히 여유를 두어 3.0-10.0 MPa조건에서 실험하였다. 실험데이터는 Peng-Robinson 상태방정식 및 Wong-Sandler mixing rules을 사용하여 혼합물의 거동을 예측하였고, 이를 실험 결과와 비교 검토하였다.

  • Aerodynamic forces and moments have been used to control rocket propelled vehicles. If control is required at very low speed, Those systems only provide a limited capability because aerodynamic control force is proportional to the air density and low dynamic pressure. But thrust vector control(TVC) can overcome the disadvantages. TVC is the method which generates the side force and roll moment by controlling exhausted gas directly in a rocket nozzle. TVC is classified by mechanical and fluid dynamic methods. Mechanical methods can change the flow direction by several objects installed in a rocket nozzle exhaust such as tapered ramp tabs and jet vane. Numerical simulation was also performed to study flow characteristics and interactions between ramp tabs. This paper provides to analyze the location of normal shock wave and distribution of surface pressure on the region enclosed by the tapered ramp tabs.

Study of hydrodynamics and iodine removal by self-priming venturi scrubber

  • Filtered containment system is a passive safety system that controls the over-pressurization of containment in case of a design-based accidents by venting high pressure gaseous mixture, consisting of air, steam and radioactive particulate and gases like iodine, via a scrubbing system. An indigenous lab scale facility was developed for research on iodine removal by venturi scrubber by simulating the accidental scenario. A mixture of 0.2 % sodium thiosulphate and 0.5 % sodium hydroxide, was used in scrubbing column. A modified mathematical model was presented for iodine removal in venturi scrubber. Improvement in model was made by addition of important parameters like jet penetration length, bubble rise velocity and gas holdup which were not considered previously. Experiments were performed by varying hydrodynamic parameters like liquid level height and gas flow rates to see their effect on removal efficiency of iodine. Gas holdup was also measured for various liquid level heights and gas flowrates. Removal efficiency increased with increase in liquid level height and gas flowrate up to an optimum point beyond that efficiency was decreased. Experimental results of removal efficiency were compared with the predicted results, and they were found to be in good agreement. Maximum removal efficiency of 99.8% was obtained.
