This study aims to acquire a basic clustering technology of hybrid rocket motor for lunar lander, including the oxidizer flow distribution characteristic and the simultaneous ignition characteristic. The experimental setups were established to conduct a series of ground firing test of a clustered motor. The gaseous oxygen (GOX) and the HDPE (High Density PolyEthylene) were used as the oxidizer and the solid fuel, respectively. Experimental results which are the simultaneous pyrotechnic ignition characteristic, the oxidizer distribution characteristic and the pressure traces of each combustion chamber imply that the hybrid rocket clustered motor works successfully.

A theoretical analysis for the characteristics of pyrolysis and combustion of solid fuel was carried out in the present study. The hollow cylindrical combustion model including gas phase and solid fuel at inside and outside respectively was developed for the numerical analysis and parametric studies. The effects of volatile contents in the porous solid fuel and Reynolds number at inlet of gas phase on the characteristics of pyrolysis and combustion such as the radial, axial and time variations of volatile mass flux through porous solid fuel, temperature, mass fractions of gaseous fuel and oxidizer, and flame shape were investigated in the parametric studies. The results of the present study show that the flame produced by the volatiles moves to the downstream of fuel with accelerating velocity with time until extinction is occurred resulting from the completion of pyrolysis. When flame is employed with smaller amount of volatiles content in the solid fuel, the flame sheet exists closer to the inner wall of solid fuel. As Reynolds number at inlet increases, the flame sheet moves to the inner wall due to effect of convection even though the volatiles by pyrolysis increases.

One of the technical methods to increase the volumetric energy density of hydrogen is to pressurize the gaseous hydrogen and then contain it in a rigid vessel. Especially for automotive systems, the compressed hydrogen storage can be found in cars as well as at refueling stations. During the charging the pressurized hydrogen into a vessel, the temperature increases with the amount of stored hydrogen in the vessel. The temperature of the vessel should be controlled to be less than a limitation for ensure stability of material. Therefore, the accurate estimation of temperature is of significance for safely storing the hydrogen. In this work, three well-known cubic equations of state (EOSs) were adopted to examine the accuracy in regenerating thermodynamic properties of hydrogen within the temperature and pressure ranges for the compressed hydrogen storage. The formulations representing molar volume, internal energy, enthalpy, and entropy were derived for Redlich-Kwong (RK), Soave-Redlioch-Kwong (SRK), and Peng-Robinson (PR) EOSs. The calculated results using the EOSs were compared with literature data given by NIST. It was revealed that the accuracies of RK and SRK EOSs were satisfactorily compatible and better than the results by PR EOS.
We investigate dynamical evolution of gas in barred galaxies using a high-resolution, grid-based hydrodynamic simulations on two-dimensional cylindrical geometry. Non-axisymmetric gravitational potential of the bar is represented by the Ferrers ellipsoids independent of time. Previous studies on this subject used either particle approaches or treated the bar potential in an incorrect way. The gaseous medium is assumed to be infinitesimally-thin, isothermal, unmagnetized, and initially uniform. To study the effects of various environments on the gas evolution, we vary the gas sound speed as well as the mass of a SMBH located at the center of a galaxy. An introduction of the bar potential produces bar substructure including a pair of dust lane shocks, a nuclear ring, and nuclear spirals. The sound speed affects the position and strength of the bar substructure significantly. As the sound speed increases, the dust lane shocks tend to move closer to the bar major axis, resulting in a smaller-size nuclear ring at the galactocentric radius of about 1 kpc. Nuclear spirals that develop inside a nuclear ring can persist only when either sound speed is low or in the presence of a SMBH; they would otherwise be destroyed by the ring material with eccentric orbits. The mass inflow rates of gas toward the galactic center is also found to be proportional to the sound speed. We find that the sound speed should be 15 km/s or larger if the mass inflow rate is to explain nuclear activities in Seyfert galaxies.

High temperature superconductor can only be applied against an engineering specofication that has to be determined for each particular application form the design requirements for economic viability and for operation margins in service. However, in order to realize the HTS transformer, it is necessary to establish the high voltage insulation technique in cryogenic temperature. Therefore, the composite insulation of double pancake coil type transformer are described and AC breakdown voltage characteristics of liquid nitrogen(LN$_2$) under HTS pancake coil electrode made by Bi-2223/Ag are studied. The Breakdown of LN$_2$ is dominated electrode shape and distance. The influence of pressure on breakdown voltage is discussed with th different electrode. For the electrical insulation design of turn-to-turn insulation for the HTS transformer, we tested breakdown strength of insulation sheet under varying pressure. And we investigated surface flashover properties of LN$_2$ and complex conition of cryogenic gaseous nitrogen(CGN$_2$) obove a LN$_2$ surface. The surface voltage of GFRP was measured as a function of thickness and electrode distance in LN$_2$ and complex condition of CGN$_2$ above a LN$_2$ surface. this research presented information of electrical insulation design for double pancake coil(DPC) type HTS transformer.

Helicon waves were excited by a Nagoya type III antenna in magnetized plasma, and hydrogen and methane are fed through a Mass Flow Controller(MFC). We made a diagnosis of properties of helicon plasma by H$_2$gaseous discharge, and fabricated the diamond thin film. The maximum measured electron density was 1${\times}$10$\^$10/ cm$\^$-3/. Diamond films have been growo on (100) silicon substrate using the helicon plasma chemical vapor deposition. Diamond films were deposited at a pressure of 0.1 Torr, deposition time of 40~80 h, a substrate temperature of 700$^{\circ}C$ and methane concentrations of 0.5~2.5%. The growth characteristics were investigated by means of X-ray Photoelectron (XPS) and X-ray Diffraction(XRD), XRD and XPS analysis revealed that SiC was formed, and finally diamond particles were definitely deposited on it. With increasing deposition time, the thickness and crystallization of the daimond thin film increased, For this system the optimum condition of methane concentration was estimated to near to 1.5%.
Wear restance titanium carbonitride (TiCN) films were deposited on the SKH9 tool steels and WC-Co cutting tools by plasma assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD) using a gaseous mixture of TiCl4, CH4, N2, H2 and Ar. The effects of the deposition temperature and RF(Radio Frequency) power on the deposition rate, chlorine content and crystallinity of the deposited layer were studied. The experimental results showed that the stable and adherent films could be obtained above the deposition temperature of 47$0^{\circ}C$ and maximum deposition rate was obtained at 485$^{\circ}C$. The deposition rate was much affected by RF power and maximum at 40W. The crystallinity of the deposited layer was improved with increasing the deposition temperature and RF power. The TiCN films deposited by PACVD contained much chlorine. The chlorine content in the TiCN films was affected by deposition conditions and decreased with improving the crystallinity of the deposited layer. The deposited TiCN films deposited at the deposition temperature of 52$0^{\circ}C$ and RF power of 40W had an uniform surface with very fine grains of about 500$\AA$ size. The microhardness of the deposited layer was 2,300Kg/$\textrm{mm}^2$.
The photocatalyst of $TiO_2$ coated on a fly ash composites (TCF) was prepared from precipitant dropping method to remove the acetaldehyde by photocatalytic reaction. The TCF were characterized by crystal aize, crystal structure and specific surface area. The photodegradation of acetaldehyde has been investigated using a UV-illuminated fixed photocatalytic reactor with TCF catalyst and P-25 catalyst in gas phase. The effect of photodegradation reaction conditions, such as initial concentration of acetaldehyde, concentration of oxidant in mixed gas and the light intensity on the photodegradation of acetaldehyde were investigated. P-25 catalyst showed the highest photodegradation of acetaldehyde and anatase $TiO_2$ coated TCF showed higher decomposition rate than rutile coated TCF. The photodegradation rate of acetaldehyde increased with the decrease of flow rate, initial concentration of acetaldehyde ($C_i$) and water vapor, however, it was increased with the increas of UV light intensity. The optimum conditions were weight of TCF=10 g, flow rate=50 ml/min $C_i$=100 ppm, concentration of oxygen=20%, concentration of water vapor=100 ppm.
The electrochemical performance and Cr poisoning behavior of $La_{1-x}Ba_xCo_{0.9}Fe_{0.1}O_{3-{\delta}}$ (LBCF, x = 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) and $La_{0.6}Sr_{0.4}Co_{0.2}Fe_{0.8}O_{3-{\delta}}$ (LSCF) cathodes were investigated for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs). The polarization resistance of the LBCF/GDC/LBCF symmetrical cell was found to decrease with increasing Ba content (x value). This phenomenon might be associated with the high oxygen vacancy concentration in the LBCF sample, with x = 0.5. In addition, there was no chromium poisoning in the LBCF cathode. On the other hand, the polarization resistance of the LSCF cathode was found to significantly increase after exposure to gaseous chromium species; it appears that this result stemmed from the formation of $SrCrO_4$ phase. Therefore, it can be expected that LBCF can be a durable potential cathode material for intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cells (IT-SOFC).
Synthesis of perfluoromethanesulfonyl fluoride(PFMSF) which is a valuable precursor of perfluoro-chemicals such as surface modifier and fine chemicals was studied by electrochemical fluorination (ECF). In order to determine the termination of preelectrolysis, it was carried to monitor the variation of current during preelectrolysis by means of constant cell voltage operation. In a batch cell, chronopotentiometric electrolysis and various chemical analysis such as GC, GC/MS and If were used to understand the potential change of electrode and synthesis and control of hazardous gases products. Termination of preelectrolysis was determinated by measurement the current and/or detection of $F_2$ gas generation. And during the preelectrolysis, an amount of generated $OF_2$ was shown that a lot of moisture was absorbed from air when a cell was filled with anhydrous hydrogen fluoride( AHF ). Above 4V cell voltage, $F_2$ gas was generated and acted on any form of fluorinating agents. In the ECF of MSC (methane sulfonyl chloride) by constant current operation, the potential of anode was intimately relation with generation of $SO_2F_2$. Exchange of Cl to F was dominatly occured in a initial stage. There were various gaseous products including PFMSF as main product and $C_4$ compounds.
