국내 주요도시 주변의 바이오매스 에너지 잠재량 분석 (Analysis of Biomass Energy Potential around Major Cities in South Korea)

  • 바이오매스 자원은 고체, 액체, 기체 등의 다양한 형태의 에너지 자원으로 전환되어 이용될 수 있기 때문에 필수적인 재생에너지 자원으로 여겨지고 있다. 더불어 바이오매스는 화석 연료의 고갈과 지구 온난화를 해결할 수 있는 방법으로도 각광을 받고 있다. 바이오매스 에너지 전환 플랜트의 규모를 결정하고 경제성을 분석하기 위해서는 지역 내의 바이오매스 에너지 잠재량과 에너지 밀도에 대한 정보가 유용하게 이용될 수 있다. 농업 폐기물, 임업 폐기물, 축산 폐기물, 도시생활 폐기물 등의 국내 에너지 잠재량과 에너지 밀도를 정부 및 연구 기관들이 발표한 최신 자료를 수집하여 분석되었다. 바이오매스 자원을 확보하기 위한 지역이 증가할수록 에너지 잠재량은 증가하나 에너지 밀도는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 마이크로 추진장치에서 노즐의 소형화는 많은 유동손실을 유발한다. 이러한 유동손실을 극복하기 위해 본 연구에서는 열적발산원리를 이용한 마이크로 추진장치에 대한 기초연구를 진행하였다. 움직이는 부품 없이 오직 온도구배만으로 추진제를 낮은 온도에서 높은 온도로 자체 펌핑이 가능한 열적발산장치를 설계, 제작 하였으며, 진공환경에서 누센수에 따른 맴브레인 압력구배효율을 분석하였다. 실험결과 천이영역에서는 두꺼운 맴브레인의 효율이 다소 높았으며, 자유분자영역에서는 두께에 관계없이 최대 압력구배 효율이 82%까지 증가하는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

환원황화합물의 분석과 검량기준의 선택에 따른 오차발생의 특성 (Selection of Calibration Approaches and Their Impact on the Quantification of Unknown Samples: Case Study on Reduced Sulfur Gases)

  • In this study, different calibration approaches for reduced sulfur compounds (RSCs) were investigated by using thermal desorption coupled with gas chromatography (GC) and pulsed flame photometric detection (PFPD). To evaluate the effects of calibration procedures, gaseous standards of 4 RSCs ($H_2S$, $CH_3SH$, DMS, and DMDS) prepared at 10 ppm level were analyzed at 7 loading injection volumes (40, 60, 80, 100, 160, 240, and 320 ${\mu}L$). The results were then compared with calibration curves made with the Z (zero offset) and N (non-zero offset) method. The concentrations of unknown samples were then quantified by using R (ratio) method in which the slope values are compared between standards and samples. Secondly, in A (average) method, results obtained from a multi-point analysis of unknown samples were also averaged to extract representative values for each sample. Results of both experiments showed that analytical error of low molecular weight components (such as $H_2S$ and $CH_3SH$) was greatly expanded with the Z method. In conclusion, the combined application of N-A method was the more realistic approach to reduce biases in the quantification of RSCs.

농업잔재물 소각에 의한 대기오염물질의 배출 특성 (Emission of Air Pollutants from Agricultural Crop Residues Burning)

  • The gaseous and particulate emissions from agricultural crop residues burning were investigated. The test residues included white soybean stem, pepper stem, apple branch, peach branch, pear branch, grape branch, sesame stem, perilla stem, and barley stem. Particulate emissions were dominated by fine particles (< $0.1{\mu}m$ in size). The highest $PM_{2.5}$ Emission factors were from barley stems (35.2 g/kg), and the lowest from pepper stems (7.9 g/kg). Emission factors for CO, NO, and VOCs were 146~305 g/kg, 4.94~15.02 g/kg, 27.4~353.3 g/kg, respectively. Benzene played an important role in VOCs emissions from biomass burning.

  • Biomass gasification is a promising technology for producing a fuel gas which is useful for power generation systems. In biomass gasification processes, tar formation often causes some problems such as pipeline plugging. Thus, proper tar treatment is necessary. So far, nickel (Ni)-based catalysts have been intensively studied for the catalytic tar removal. However, the deactivation of Ni-based catalysts takes place because of coke deposition and sintering of Ni metal particles. To overcome these problems, we have been using ruthenium (Ru)-based catalyst for tar removal. It is reported by Okada et al., that a Ru/$Al_2O_3$ catalyst is very effective for preventing the carbon deposition during the steam reforming of hydrocarbons. Also, this catalyst is more active than the Ni-based catalyst at a low steam to carbon ratio (S/C). Benzene was used for the tar model compound because it is the main constituent of biomass tar and also because it represents a stable aromatic structure apparent in tar formed in biomass gasification processes. The steam reforming process transforms hydrocarbons into gaseous mixtures constituted of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$), carbon monoxide (CO), methane ($CH_4$) and hydrogen ($H_2$).

  • The objective of this study is to predict the minimization effect of the noise and vibration during the construction and the train operation regarding to the design modification of the Taegu Subway Line No. 1. It was suggested optimal control blasting methods to reduce the causing vibration Nuance to the resident in City Taegu and also proposed the better governing method to decrease the environmental hazard to the near buildings and residents during the train operation. When the high-density gaseous reaction of explosion products exerts a high pressure in motion outward, a dynamic stress field will be created in the surrounding buildings. Therefore, in the region close to the charge, permanent damage begins to occur at a great critical level of partial velocity, that is difficult from different structure as working conditions. It is reliable to predict that the damages could be reduced if we know the peak velocity and the exact reasons through the conducting of detail studies of structural analysis of the related buildings with the optimal blasting designs. A blasting technique should be deemed to take advantage of the reduction of damage of the surrounding rocks and structures to improve the in-city blasting. This is a typical in-city blasting operation where success depends on closely controlling the ground vibrations in case of better designed blasting methods. There are techniques that can be applied to prevent large vibrations from damaging the important buildings through the Route Modification of the Taegu Subway Line No. 1.

Copper 함량에 따른 Mo-Cu-N 박막의 미세구조 변화에 대한 연구 (Effect of Copper Content on the Microstructural Properties of Mo-Cu-N Films)

  • Ternary Mo-Cu-N films were deposited on Si wafer substrates with various copper contents by magnetron sputtering method using Mo target and Cu target in $Ar/N_2$ gaseous atmosphere. As increasing $N_2$ pressure, the microstructure of Mo-N films changed from ${\gamma}-Mo_2N$ of (111) having face-centered-cubic (FCC) structure to $\delta$-MoN of (200) having hexagonal structure. Detailed the microstructures of the Mo-Cu-N coatings were studied by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and field emission transmission electron microscope. The results indicated that the incorporation of copper into the growing Mo-N coating led to the $Mo_2N$ and MoN crystallites were more well-distributed and refined and the copper existed in grain boundary. Ternary Mo-Cu-N films had a composite microstructure of the nanosized crystal crystalline ${\gamma}-Mo_2N$ and $\delta$-MoN surrounded by amorphous $Cu_3N$ phase.

불활성 가스계 청정 소화약제의 방출 및 소화 (Discharge and Fire Extinguishing Test of Inert Gas Clean Agent)

  • 지구의 오존층 보호를 위한 몬트리얼의정서에 의해 생산과 사용이 규제되는 할론을 대체할 소화약제로 질소 $92\%$와 이산화탄소 $8\%$의 조성을 갖는 소화약제를 개발하여 방출 및 소화시험을 수행하였다. 방출 및 소화시험은 부피가$27m^3$$190m^3$인 모형을 제작하고 저장용기로부터 모형 내에 약제를 이송시키는 배관을 설치하여 수행하였다. 방출시험은 오리피스 직경, 배관길이 등을 변수로 법에서 규정된 시간인 60초 이내에 약제량의 $95\%$이상 방출되는지 여부를 확인하였다. 소화시험은 n-헵탄을 연료로 하는 유류 화재와 목재를 사용한 심부 화재에 대하여 수행되었으며 방호구역의 크기나 배관의 길이에 상관없이 모두 우수한 소화 성능을 나타내었다.

UV-IR 복합형 화재감지장치 개발 (The Development of UV-IR Combination Flame Detector)

  • All objects emit thermal radiation and this radiation is the basis of the techniques used to detect flames. The usual phenomena occurring in the initial stage of the fire are generally invisible products of a combustion and visible smoke. Liquid or gaseous materials do not undergo a smoldering stage so that fires develop very rapidly. Also, the heat generated by the initial flames is usually not sufficient to activate a heat detector. In this case the most effective criterion for automatic fire detection is the flame. According to the fire regulation of korea, the compulsory standard provided that a flame detector shall be installed in a place that the attachment height of detector is higher than 20 m, chemical plants, hangar, refinery, etc.. The results of the research and development are discriminated between a flame and other radiant emitters, developed a UV detector tube contains an inert gas which absorbs UV radiation, developed PZT pyroelectric element is based on the use of photovoltanic cell, developed IR band-pass filter that only allow a 4.3 $\mu\textrm{m}$ radiation wavelength to reach the sensors and developed UV-IR combination flame detector combined into a single detection device.

초음속 유동장에서의 충돌제트 특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (An experimental study on the characteristics of transverse jet into a supersonic flow field)

  • When a secondary gaseous flow is injected vertically into a supersonic flow through circular nozzle, a complicated structure of flow field is produced around the injection area. The interaction between the two streams produces a strong bow shock wane on the upstream side of the side-jet. The results show that bow shock wave and turbulent boundary layer interaction induces the boundary layer separation in front of the side-jet. This study is to analyze the structure of flow fields and distribution of surface pressure on the flat plate according to total pressure ratio using a supersonic cold-flow system and also to study the control force of affected side-jet. The nozzle of main flow was designed to have Mach 2.88 at the exit. The injector has a sonic nozzle with 4mm diameter at the exit of the side-jet. In experiments, The oil flow visualization using a silicone oil and ink was conducted in order to analyze the structure of flow fields around the side-jet. The flow fields are visualized using the schlieren method. In this study, a computational fluid dynamic solution is also compared with experimental results.
