Determination of Residual Pesticides in Recycle Product of Waste Plastic Pyrolysis (폐비닐 열분해 재활용품 중의 잔류농약 분석)

  • Environmental waste treatment technology is transforming from incineration system to pyrolysis gasification system. And there it is necessary for our country to adapt gasification system urgently to prevent the land pollution and lack of landfill area. The objective of this study was to determine the pesticides residues of derived product of pyrolysis gasification system for recycling of waste plastic by gas chromatograph-mass selective detector and nitrogen phosphorus detector. The residual pesticides were not detected in derived product of waste recyling. But some pesticide was detected on raw level (0.02 ~ 0.05 ppm) in waste plastic sample.

  • Physicochemical properties of oil in water microemulsions containing soybean oil and egg phosphatide were observed for 3 weeks under the storage condition of $4^{\circ}C$ refrigerator. Changes in major fatty acid content, particle size distribution, rheogram, acid value and pH value were measured by gas chromatograph, laser particle sizer, Coulter counter and rheometer. From above experiments following conclusions were obtained; 1) Mean particle diameter was shifted from 240 to 266mm. 2) No significant changes were observed in the content of major fatty acids of soybean oil, rheogram, acid value and pH value.

Change of N-nitrosamine Contents in Meat and Meat Products by Cooking Condition (가열에 위한 식육 및 식육제품 중 니트로사민이 생성량 변화)

  • This study is performed to identify the contents of nitrosamine in meat (beef, pork) and meat product (ham, bacon, sausage) by gas chromatograph-thermal energy analyzer. The author also determained the formation of nitrosamine in these products when they were cooked in frying pan at 21$0^{\circ}C$ for 4 minutes and microwave for 45 and 75 seconds. N-ni-trosodimethylamine (NDMA) analysis was impossible in the most products because of their impurieties. On the other hand, N-nitrosopyrrolidine (NPYR) of 0~9.4 ug/kg in meat and 0~15.6 ug/kg in meat products were detected, respectively. When meat and meat products were cooked, generally contents of NDMA and NPYR have a tendency to be increased a little. Meat and product being cooked in microwave rather than frying pan, contents of NDMA and NPYR were detected more. Especially, in sausage contained much flsh, contents of NDMA was detected more.

  • The exhausted gases were analyzed and the countermeasures were studied to solve the environmental pollution caused by waste gases in Chung-Ju Industral Complex. The eleven working places were selected to analysis the compositions and concentrations of the exhausted gases by gas chromatograph and membrane method. The five companies which have used organic solvents were shown lower content than TLV and the environmental limits. But the concentration of lead in a electric product company was revealed higher than TLV. The waste gases of the four companies which have used asbestos were shown lower values than TLV and the environmental limit. The exhausted gases, SO$_2$and NO$_2$of two companies which have used fossile fuels were also analyzed. The NO$_2$concentration of one company which haven't disposal system was shown higher than the environmental limit.

Studies on the Contents of Special Components and Estimation of Purity of Sesame Oil II (참기름의 특이 성분 함량과 순도 결정에 관한 연구(제2보))

  • The verification of genuine sesame oil can be examined by determination of the ratio of fatty acid. Fatty acids were extracted from the saponifiable substance of sesame oils. Fatty acids were methylated with the 14% boron trifluoride methanol solution and injected into a gas chromatograph with Unisole 3000 column and finally determined the molecular weight by mass spectrometry. The fatty acids in laboratory prepared sesame oils were composed mainly of oleic acid 36.7-42.8% and linoleic acid 39.0-46.6%, including palmitic acid 7.9-9.l%, stearic acid 4.1-5.6%, linoleic acid 0.1-3.0%, arachidic acid 0.5-1.0% and eicosenoic acid 0.1-0.5%. The above results allow the estimation of genuine sesame oil, mixed with rape seed oil, soybean oil, perilla oil, etc. In 53 samples, 14 samples were estimated as genuine and it was found that erucic acid was contained in 31 samples, linoeic acid was highly contained in 14, high quantity of linolenic acid was in 7 and palmitic and oleic acid were highly involved in 3.

Characteristics of the Volatile Flavor Compounds in the Oil from Roasted Sesame Seed (참기름의 휘발성 향기성분의 특성)

  • The volatile compounds in sesame oil were collected by a dynamic headspace technique and analyzed using a gas chromatograph with a flame ionization detector and an olfactory detector. Twenty compounds such as methylpyrazine, acetic acid, 2-furan carboxaldehyde and 2-furanmethanol were separated and identified with a mass spectrometric detector. The result of sniffing test showed that pyrazine compounds and 2-furan-carboxaldehyde had a sweet and roasted flavor whereas acetic acid and 2-furanmethanol stinked.

  • 현재 산업화 사회가 가속됨에 따라 인체에 유해한 물질들이 발생한다. 그 중에서 VOC(Volatile Organic Component)는 인체에 치명적인 해를 일으키는 물질이다. 본 논문은 MOS(Metal Oxide Semiconductor) 센서를 이용하여 인체에 치명적인 유해 물질인 VOC를 측정하였다. 현재 VOC의 측정은 GC(Gas Chromatograph)를 이용하는데 이는 측정 시간이 길며 숙련된 측정자에 의해서만 측정이 가능하고 그 분석이 가능하다. 그러나 MOS 센서를 이용하면 숙련되지 않은 측정자도 측정이 가능하며 인공신경망을 이용하여 그 분석을 함으로서 누구나 쉽게 분석이 가능하고 실시간으로 측정이 가능하다.

Determination of Trace Anions in Concentrated Hydrogen Peroxide by Direct Injection Ion Chromatography with Conductivity Detection after Pt-Catalyzed On-Line Decomposition

  • A method has been developed for the determination of trace anion impurities in concentrated hydrogen peroxide. The method involves on-line decomposition of hydrogen peroxide, ion chromatographic separation and subsequent suppressed-type conductivity detection. H2O2 is decomposed in Pt-catalyst filled Gore-Tex membrane tubing and the resulting aqueous solution containing analytes is introduced to the injection valve of an ion chromatograph for periodic determinations. The oxygen gas evolving within the membrane tubing escapes freely through the membrane wall causing no problem in ion chromatographic analysis. Decomposition efficiency is above 99.99% at a flow rate of 0.4mL/min for a 30% hydrogen peroxide concentration. Analytes are quantitatively retained. The analysis results for several brands of commercial hydrogen peroxides are reported.

  • In fields of operating or handling a hydrogen isotope facility, and of the technology for nuclear fusion source management, gas chromatography has been used as one of the practical techniques lot separation and enrichment of hydrogen isotopic gases including tritium. Chromatographic separation experiments of the hydrogen isotope mixture (hydrogen, deuterium and tritium) were carried out by use of a commercially available gas chromatograph. An aliquot of gas sample was injected by a specially designed vacuum sampler into the stream of inert carrier gas which went through the separation column under liquid nitrogen temperature. The complete separation of hydrogen isotopic molecules was observed with an alumina adsorbent partially deactivated by coating with 10% manganese chlorine. In addition, fairly good separation conditions were obtained without any appearance of nuclear spin isomers with shorter retention time, which would be available for the practical applications of the hydrogen isotope separation and enrichment.

  • Korea Global Atmosphere Watch Center (KGAWC), which is located in Anmyeondo and, belongs to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), measures sulfur hexafluoride ($SF_6$) in every hour since 2007. In this study, $SF_6$ observed in 2007 are discussed. A gas chromatograph-electron capture detector (GC-ECD) with pre-cooled device is applied during the observation, and produced data are qualified by means of periodic calibration with $SF_6$ standard gas made by Korea Research Institute of Standard and Science (KRISS). $SF_6$ has been greatly paid attention since Kyoto protocol because of its high global warming potential(GWP) with 22,200 times of $CO_2$ in the period of 100 years. It is a man-made compound and has been usually used for gas insulation since 1970s and for etching process in the information technology-based industry since 1990. Average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in 2007 was 6.65 pmol/mol at Anmyeondo. According to the GAW report published in 2008, average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in the atmosphere is continuously growing. At present, the average mixing ratio of $SF_6$ in the atmosphere is known to be approximately 6.25 pmol/mol at global observatory. $SF_6$ value in Anmyeondo shows 0.40 pmol/mol greater than that of the Mauna Loa observatory in 2007.
