We propose a novel spatial multi-band-stop filter using modified multiple loop array elements to block electromagnetic waves or signals of mobile phones in public facilities. It operates at the following frequency bands: Korean cellular (824 MHz to 894 MHz), Personal Communication Service (PCS) (1.75 GHz to 1.87 GHz), and IMT-2000 (1.92 GHz to 2.17 GHz). Two frequency selective surfaces with modified multiple-loop elements are printed on the top and bottom of a pair-glass pane, which is a pair of glass panes with an air gap between them. A modified multiple-loop element with a meander line is used to make the size of the filter compact. The simulated and measured results show good agreement, which confirms the usefulness of the proposed tri-band spatial filter.
The objective of this study is to propose an experimental calibration facility in which a heat flux sensor can be calibrated under conductive condition by using helium gas. The heat flux calibration facility was designed, simulated and manufactured for use in a high heat transfer condition. It delivers heat fluxes up to a maximum of 35 KW $m^{-2}$. A copper block heated electrically with 3.5 KW power is designed to produce uniform temperature up to 600 K across its face. High heat fluxes are provided between hot plate and cold plate by 1 mm height helium filled gap. A cold plate is maintained around 300 K through pool boiling using a refrigerant and water-cooled heat exchanger. A simulation was conducted to verify the design of the main test section. To verify the performance of calibration facility, a heat flux sensor was examined. The measured heat fluxes were compared to the calculated one.

Piston slap is one of the major sources of noise in a 4-cycle diesel engine. Piston slap is not only one of major source mounted near the top and bottom of the piston thrust and antithrust skirts. Effects of engine speed, load and coolant temperature on piston motion were investigated. The measured piston motion showed 6 slapes per cycle resulting from the change of side force. Major piston slap timing was retarded as engine speeds became higher. The increase of engine load made large piston transverse movement toward thrust side of cylinder block. Piston transverse movement was due to reduced piston-liner clearance at higher coolant temperature.
Here we report an enhanced flexoelectric switching in a self-assembled system of smectic liquid crystal and some specific dopant. The assembled unit block seemed to have electric dipole and as a result induces large flexoelectric polarization due to its asymmetric shape and shows fast switching to the electric field. The unit blocks are oriented in a helical fashion in the cell with large gap (${\sim}5{\mu}m$) and shows selective reflection property. In the thin cell (${\sim}2{\mu}m$), the unit blocks are aligned homeotropically on the bare ITO substrate with no surface treatment and shows fast decaying time.

In case of swash plate type axial piston hydraulic motor, hydrostatic bearing used to achieve the lubrication effect on the mechanical sliding contact areas between the following parirs ; sliooer-pad and swash plate, piston and cylinder bore, valve plate and cylinder block, etc. This study discussed the basic charateristic for the hydrostatic slipper-pad bearings with the capillary or orifice restrictor under static load condition. And, we also development of hydrostatic bearing tester for hydrostatic balancing test of pistion & slipper-pad assembly, and some experimental data on supply pressure step responce are reported.
The present work presents the development of a Large Eddy Simulation (LES) methodology viable for complex geometries and suitable for the simulation of rod-bundles. The use of LES and Direct Numerical Simulation (DNS) allows for a deeper analysis of the flow field and the use of stochastical tools in order to obtain additional insight into rod-bundle hydrodynamics. Moreover, traditional steady-state CFD simulations fail to accurately predict distributions of velocity and temperature in rod-bundles when the pitch (P) to diameter (D) ratio P/D is smaller than 1.1 for triangular lattices of cylindrical pins. This deficiency is considered to be due to the failure to predict large-scale coherent structures in the region of the gap. The main features of the code include multi-block capability and the use of the fractional step algorithm. As a Sub-Grid-Scale (SGS) model, a Dynamic Smagorinsky model has been used. The code has been tested on plane channel flow and the flow in annular ducts. The results are in excellent agreement with experiments and previous calculations.

Today, many middle-sized shipbuilding companies in Korea are experiencing strong competition from shipbuilding companies in other nations. This competition is particularly affecting small- and middle-sized shipyards, rather than the major shipyards that have their own support systems and development capabilities. The acquisition of techniques that would enable maximization of production efficiency and minimization of the gap between planning and execution would increase the competitiveness of small- and middle-sized Korean shipyards. In this paper, research on a simulation-based support system for ship production management, which can be applied to the shipbuilding processes of middle-sized shipbuilding companies, is presented. The simulation research includes layout optimization, load balancing, work stage operation planning, block logistics, and integrated material management. Each item is integrated into a network system with a value chain that includes all shipbuilding processes.
A 70-year-old man complained imbalance while walking, inability to perform ankle flexion, and could not stand on tip-toe 3 months after injury. The ankle looked swollen with loss of Achilles contour and obvious gait disturbance. Magnetic resonance imaging shows a 5-cm Achilles tendon gap. Subsequently, surgery was performed to solve the neglected Achilles tendon rupture. Patient was put under general anesthesia with a regional block. Using a nontourniquet technique, a reconstructive procedure was performed using a half-width autologous Achilles tendon graft, which was attached to the calcaneal prominence with wire in a double strand Bunnell fashion. As for the proximal stump, double core Bunnell/modified Kessler suturing was carried out to suture the graft to Achilles stump. To increase the vascularization, an ipsilateral gastrocnemius fascial flap with a distally based-pedicle was harvested to wrap around the tendon graft. At a 6-month follow-up, the patient was able to stand on tip-toe and had also regained a normal gait.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the marginal and internal gap of Cobalt (Co)-Chromium (Cr) sintering metal coping fabricated by dental computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing systems. Abutment tooth 46 of universal numbering system was selected for the study. Twenty Co-Cr metal copings of two groups were manufactured and scanned. Co-Cr cast metal copings (CCM) group of ten were fabricated using investment, burnout and casing after subtractive manufacturing of wax block. Also, Co-Cr sintering metal copings (CSM) group of ten were fabricated using sintering processing after subtractive manufacturing of Co-Cr soft metal bock. Marginal and internal gap of Co-Cr metal copings of twenty were measured by digital microscope (${\times}160$) with silicone replica technique. The data was analyzed from IBM SPSS Statistics ver. 22.0 Statistical software for Mann-Whitney U test (${\alpha}=0.05$). $Mean{\pm}standard$ deviation of marginal gap of CCM group was $90.12{\pm}61.73{\mu}m$ of CSM group was $60.17{\pm}24.83{\mu}m$. However, two groups was statistically not different (p>0.05). This study showed that CSM group was clinically acceptable adaptation.
A new donor-accepter-donor-accepter-donor (D-A-D-A-D) type 2,1,3-benzothiadiazole-thiophene-based acceptor unit 2,5-di(4-(5-bromo-4-octylthiophen-2-yl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazol-7-yl)thiophene ($DTBTTBr_2$) was synthesized. Copolymerized with fluorene and indeno[1,2-b]fluorene electron-rich moieties, two alternating narrow band gap (NBG) copolymers PF-DTBTT and PIF-DTBTT were prepared. And two copolymers exhibit broad and strong absorption in the range of 300-700 nm with optical band gap of about 1.75 eV. The highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) energy levels vary between -5.43 and -5.52 eV and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy levels range from -3.64 to -3.77 eV. Potential applications of the copolymers as electron donor material and $PC_{71}BM$ ([6,6]-phenyl-$C_{71}$ butyric acid methyl ester) as electron acceptors were investigated for photovoltaic solar cells (PSCs). Photovoltaic performances based on the blend of PF-DTBTT/$PC_{71}BM$ (w:w; 1:2) and PIF-DTBTT/$PC_{71}BM$ (w:w; 1:2) with devices configuration as ITO/PEDOT: PSS/blend/Ca/Al, show an incident photon-to-current conversion efficiency (IPCE) of 2.34% and 2.56% with the open circuit voltage ($V_{oc}$) of 0.87 V and 0.90 V, short circuit current density ($J_{sc}$) of $6.02mA/cm^2$ and $6.12mA/cm^2$ under an AM1.5 simulator ($100mA/cm^2$). The photocurrent responses exhibit the onset wavelength extending up to 720 nm. These results indicate that the resulted narrow band gap copolymers are viable electron donor materials for polymer solar cells.
