  • A theoretical study is presented for the end-point holding control of a one-link flexible arm, whose base is subjected to a lateral fluctuation. The arm is clamped on a rigid hub mounted directly on the shaft of d.c. servomoter. The tip position is measured by a gap sensor fixed in space isolated from the system vibration. The arm is controlled so as to make the end point stay precisely at its initial position even if the base is fluctuated.

  • This paper presents a procedure to design a real time control system for a magnetic levitation system based on the state space approach by adopting a control method compensating attractive force according to load variation of maglev vehicle. Also the paper has realized a robust control algorithm for the change of self-inductance parameters and the disturbance such as the change of mass of Maglev vehicles. The theoretical results are applied to the gap control problems of an attractive-type-magnetic levitation system and the effectiveness is proved by the implementation of digital control using 16 bits microcomputer.

  • 제올라이트는 흡습성이 강하기 때문에 수분을 함유한 벤젠의 경우, 벤젠의 흡착에는 적절하지 못한 것으로 알려져 있다. 하지만 본 실험결과에서는 마이크로파를 이용함으로써 물의 흡착을 어느 정도 막고, 벤젠의 흡착이 일어나는 결과로부터 제올라이트의 용도를 확대시킬 수 있을 것이다. 또한 마이크로파에 의한 제어는 열, 압력보다 간단하지만, 보다 세밀한 제어가 가능하게 되면 새로운 흡착 및 기타 기술의 발전을 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

  • In this paper, some non-interaction problems in tandem cold rolling mill are considered, which are required to control effectively a thickness of the cold .oiled strip. First, Interstand non-interactive compensate. (Interstand NIC) is designed for decoupling the interaction between stands. Next, a L2 optimization based pre-compensator is designed for decoupling the interaction between roll gap and strip tension in the stand. Finally, the effectness of the proposed decoupling methods is demonstrated via simulations.

  • 부유물 부근을 항해하는 선박의 조종 운동에 미치는 부유물의 영향을 파악하기 위하여 선박과 부유물(40피트 콘테이너)을 형상화 하고 선박과 부유물간의 간섭영향을 수치 계산하였다. 이 논문에서 사용되어진 계산 방법은 충돌 회피를 위한 선박의 자동제어시스템과 해상교통제어시스템 및 항만 건설 등을 위한 초기 설계 단계에서 선박 조종성의 예측에 유용할 것이다.

  • Genetic Algorithm(GA) has been known as a method of solving large-scaled optimization problems with complex constraints in various applications. Since a major drawback of the GA is that it needs a long computation time, the hardware implementations of Genetic Algorithm Processors(GAP) are focused on in recent studies. In this paper, a hardware-oriented GA was proposed in order to save the hardware resources and to reduce the execution time of GAP. Based on steady-state model among continuos generation model, the proposed GA used modified tournament selection, as well as special survival condition, with replaced whenever the offspring's fitness is better than worse-fit parent's. The proposed algorithm shows more than 30% in convergence speed over the conventional algorithm in simulation. Finally, by employing the efficient pipeline parallelization and handshaking protocol in proposed GAP, above 30% of the computation speed-up can be achieved over survival-based GA which runs one million crossovers per second (1㎒), when device speed and size of application are taken into account on prototype. It would be used for high speed processing such of central processor of evolvable hardware, robot control and many optimization problems.

A Study of the One-Stage Axial Turbine Performance with Various Axial Gap Distances between the Stator and Rotor (정.동익 축방향 간격에 따른 단단 축류터빈의 성능시험에 관한 연구)

  • The performance test of an axial-type turbine is carried out with various axial gap distances between the stator and rotor. The turbine is operated at the low pressure and speed, and the degree of reaction is 0.373 at the mean radius. The axial-type turbine consists of ons-stage and 3-dimensional blades. The chord length of rotor is 28.2mm and mean diameter of turbine is 257.56mm. The power of turbo-blower for input power is 30kW and mass flow rate is $340m^3$/min at 290mmAq static-pressure. The RPM and output power are controlled by a dynamometer connected directly to the turbine shaft. The axial gap distances are changed from a quarter to three times of stator axial chord length, and performance curves are obtained with 9 different axial gaps. The efficiency varies about 8% of its peak value due to the variation of axial gap on the same non-dimensional mass flow rate and RPM, and experimental results show that the optimum axial gap is 1.6-1.9Cx.
