강화 약쑥 (Artemisia princeps Pampanini) 추출물의 항산화 및 항응고 활성 (Antioxidant and anticoagulant activities of Ganghwa medicinal mugwort (Artemisia princeps Pampanini) extract)

  • 강화 사자발약쑥(Artemisia princeps Pampanini)으로부터 얻어진 50% 에탄올 추출물의 항산화 및 혈장 항응고 활성을 확인하였다. 약쑥 추출물의 폴리페놀과 플라보노이드 함량은 각각 106.9±3.3 및 34.1±0.4 mg/g-추출물로 나타났다. 약쑥 추출물은 농도 의존적으로 유리라디칼, 양이온라디칼 및 아질산염을 소거하였고, 우수한 환원력 및 지질과산화 억제효과를 나타내었다. 또한 약쑥 추출물은 농도 의존적으로 혈액응고의 공통경로를 저해하는 혈장 항응고 활성을 나타내었다.

쑥 첨가급식이 성장기 흰쥐의 혈청 성분에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Feeding Basal Diet Supplemented with Mugwort Powder on the Serum Components in Growing Rat)

  • 식용의 참쑥과 강화지역 특산물인 강화약쑥이 체성분 중 혈액 성분에 미치는 영향을 관찰하고자 84$\pm$9g정도의 흰쥐(Sprague Dawley) 18두를 3개 동물군(대조군, 참쑥군 및 약쑥군) 으로 나누어 4주간 해당 실험식이(기본식이, 5% 참쑥식이 및 5% 약쑥식이)로 급식하였다. 쑥의 일반성분 분석결과 참쑥의 조단백질과 조회분함량은 약쑥보다 2%이상 높았고, 참쑥의 망간, 아연, 비타민 A 함량은 약쑥보다 약 3배 높았으나 약쑥의 칼슘 함량은 참쑥보다 약 5배 높았다. 참쑥 식이군과 약쑥 식이군의 혈청 중 성분 함량을 대조군과 비교해보면 albumin 함량과 ALT, AP, amylase 및 CK의 효소 활성도는 참쑥과 약쑥 식이군 모두 증가했으나 반대로 AST 효소 활성도는 모두 감소하였다. 참쑥 식 이군에서는 TG 함량과 LDH 효소 활성도는 감소하였고 약쑥 식이군 에서는 포도당 함량이 감소하였으나 TP 함량은 증가되었다.

강화약쑥 수용성 추출물의 식물 타감효과 및 HPLC에 의한 타감물질 분석 연구 (Allelopathic Effect of Aqueous Extract of Ganghwa Mugwort (Artemisia spp.) Vegetables and HPLC Aanalysis of Allelochemicals)

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the allelopathic effect of aqueous extract of Ganghwa domestic mugwort (Artemisia spp.) on vegetables and its related allelo-chemicals. When the receptor vegetables, such as Chinese cabbage, lettuce, and red radish, were treated with aqueous extract obtained from Sajabalssuk (A. $sp^*I$), Ssajuarissuk (A. $sp^*II$) or Ssajarissuk (A. $sp^*III$), their germination rate, leaf number, plant height, and root length were restricted with increasing concentration of aqueous extract. Allelopathic effect was the highest in radish, than lettuce and Chinese cabbage in order. The growth of topplant were more inhibited then root growth observing in restriction of plant height, root length, and chlorophyll contents. The plant height, the root length of red radish were 53.3 and 61.2% and their fresh weights were 19.8 and 26.4% compared to those of controls, respectively. A. $sp^*III$ showed the highest allelopathic effect among the donor plants. In HPLC analysis, 7 phenol compounds were identified in A. $sp^*I$ and A. $sp^*II$, and, in A. $sp^*III$, and hydroxybenzoic acid and phenylacetic acid were further identified as allelochemicals. It is considered that their plant growths were variously inhibited by the amounts and types of allelochemicals in aqueous extracts. To increase the productivity of farm land after cultivation of mugwort, these results can be useful to select the following field crops.

약쑥의 Eupatilin과 Jaceosidin 함량변이 (Variation of Eupatilin and Jaceosidin Content of Mugwort)

  • 본 연구는 최근 다양한 기능이 보고된 쑥의 eupatilin성분과 jaceosidin 성분 고함유 유전자원을 선발하고 기능성 작물로서의 개발가능성을 제시하고자 실험을 실시하고 그 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 12개 지역의 도서벽지에서 수집한 자생쑥을 분석한 결과 강화${\cdot}$백령도 지역의 수집 쑥에서 eupatilin과 jaceosidin함량이 높았다. 그 중 가장 높은 것은 강화의 싸주아리 쑥이었다. 2. 쑥의 채취시기별 함량을 분석한 결과 eupatilin과 jaceosidin 함량은 모두 5월 23일에서 6월 10일 사이 채취한 쑥에서 가장 높았다. 3 쑥의 식물체 부위별 함량을 분석한 결과, eupatilin 함량은 상위엽이 하위엽보다 2배가량 많이 함유되어 있었으나 jaceosidin 함량은 그 차이가 크지 않았다.

물리적 연육 처리 및 강화약쑥 첨가에 따른 계육 너비아니의 저장 안정성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Mechanical Processing and Ganghwa Mugwort on Stability of Chicken Neobiahni during Storage)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of mechanical processing (tumbler, tenderizer, injector) and Ganghwa mugwort extracts (GM) on the stability of chicken Neobiahni during storage for 10 days at $4^{\circ}C$. Six treatments of chicken Neobiahni were manufactured with the following conditions: CON (tumbler), CON-A (tumbler + 0.2% GM), T1(tenderizer) T1-A (tenderizer + 0.2% GM), T2 (injector), T2-A (injector + 0.2% GM). Methods: The pH, POV, TBA, and sensory characteristics of chicken Neobiahni during storage for 10 days at $4^{\circ}C$ were measured in triplicate. Results: The pH of chicken Neobiahni was in the range of 6.00-6.37, with the highest values in the treatments containing GM (CON-A, T1-A, T2-A). Mechanical processing had no significant effects during storage. The color values (lightness, redness, and yellowness) did not differ significantly in all chicken Neobiahni samples, whereas storage time had a significant effect (p<0.05). The mechanical processing combined with GM appeared to effectively control the POV and TBA levels of chicken samples during the entire storage period. In addition, sensory evaluation ratings (color, juiciness, flavor, tenderness, and overall acceptability) were improved by the mechanical processing and the addition of GM. Conclusion: These results suggest that the combination of mechanical processing and Ganghwa mugwort extracts is a useful technique for retarding lipid oxidation in chicken Neobiahni.

강화약쑥 추출물이 종자발아 및 유식물 생장에 미치는 알레로파시 효과 (Allelopathic Effect of Ganghwa mugwort (Artemisia spp.) on Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Plants)

  • This study was conducted to identify allelopathic effect of Ganghwa domestic Artemisia spp., named Sajabalssuk and Ssajuarissuk, for various receptor plants including clover (Trifolium repens L.), alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.), lawn grass (Zoysia japonica Steud.), dandelion (Taraxacum platycarpum Dahlst.), and dahurianpatrinia (Patrinia scabiosaefolia Fisch. ex Trevir). Receptor plants were treated with the aqueous and essential oil extract of Artemisia plants. In consequence, their allelopathic effects were evaluated by measuring seed germination rates, seedling growth, and dry weights of the receptor plants. The seed germination and seedling growth of the receptor plants were inhibited by all treatments of both aqueous and essential oil extracts of the Artemisia plants, and, in addition, the inhibitory effects were increased according to the higher concentration. Among the donor plants, A. $sp.^*III$ showed most effective allelopathic effect. Comparing the alleopathic effect among the receptor plants, seed germination was most inhibited in lawn grass while inhibitory effect of seedling growth was comparatively higher in dandelion. Although inhibitory effects were comparatively lower, the allelopathic effects of Artemisia plants were identified in clover and alfalfa since the seedling growth of these plants were inhibited more than 70%. Thus, in result, Ganghwa domestic Artemisia spp. could be possibly used for weed control since natural products of the plants showed inhibitory effects on seed germination and seedling growth of various receptor plants.

Application of Ganghwa Mugwort in Combination with Ascorbic Acid for the Reduction of Residual Nitrite in Pork Sausage during Refrigerated Storage

  • The application of ganghwa mugwort (GM), ascorbic acid (AC), and their combinations for reduction of residual nitrite contents was analyzed in pork sausages during storage of 28 d. Six treatments of pork sausages contained the following: Control (no antioxidant added), AC (0.05% AC), GM 0.1 (0.1% GM), GM 0.2 (0.2% GM), AC+GM 0.1 (0.05% AC + 0.1% GM) and AC+GM 0.2 (0.05% AC + 0.2% GM). Results showed that the mixture of 0.05% AC and 0.2% GM was most effective for reducing thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and residual nitrite contents than the control and GM added sausages alone (p<0.05). The color values of all treatments were significantly affected by adding GM (either alone or with AC). Additionally, the total color difference (${\Delta}E$) and hue angle ($H^{\circ}$) values of treatments added with GM were higher than those of the control as the amount of GM increased (p<0.05). However, there were no significant differences in the pH values between the control and all treatments during the storage period (p>0.05). Our results showed possible applications of antioxidant combination, for preventing the lipid oxidation and decreasing the residual nitrite levels of meat products.

수집약쑥의 유효성분 함량변이 (Chemical Component of Mugwort (Artemisia princeps Pampanini) leaves Collected in Korea)

  • 우리 나라를 비롯한 동남아시아에서 주로 약용으로 이용 되어온 약쑥의 품질평가를 위한 기초자료를 얻고자 본 연구를 수행하였다. 우리 나라에서 특수한 용도로 이용되어 온 약쑥을 48개 지역에서 2004년부터 2006년까지 3년에 걸쳐 210점을 수집하여 잎의 유효성분을 조사한 바 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 잎 100 9에 함유된 eupatilin 함량은 $0{\sim}228.0mg$(평균 43.8 mg), jaceosidin 함량은 $0{\sim}73.8mg$(평균 12.8 mg)이 었으며, sesamin 함량은 $0{\sim}6.78mg$(평균 3.58 mg)의 변이를 보였다. 이들 화학성분 중 수집지역별로 함량변이가 큰 eupatilin 성분을 비교한 결과 강화도, 백령도를 중심으로 한 서해안 지역에서 수집된 것에서 높고, 동해안과 남해안지역에서 수집된 약쑥에는 eupatilin이 거의 함유되지 않았다.

Antiasthmic Effect of Fermented Artemisia princeps in Asthmic Mice Induced by Ovalbumin

  • Artemisia princeps Pampanini (AP) was fermented with Bifidobacterium infantis K-525 and its antiasthmic effect investigated. AP and fennented AP (FAP) reduced the IgE level in the blood of ovalbumin-induced asthmic mice. Moreover, FAP reduced the IgE, proinflammatory cytokine IL-6, and IL-4 levels in the trachea, as well as in the lung of the experimental asthmic mice, whereas AP only reduced the IgE and IL-6 levels in the lungs. Nonetheless, AP and FAP both inhibited the mRNA expression of IL-6 and TNF-${\alpha}$ in IgE-induced RBL-2H3 cells. The in vivo antiasthmic effect of FAP was more potent than that of AP. Therefore, these findings suggest that the enhanced antiasthmic effect of AP after bifidus fermentation was possibly due to the regulation of the proinflammatory cytokine biosynthesis of IL-6 and TNF-${\alpha}$.
