  • The Purpose of this study is to propose 4F Process, which is one of the development methodology of the gamification. For the effectiveness analysis of the 4F Process, game and gamification related theories are applied and conducted comparative analysis with the published gamification development methodology. This studies results show that the 4F Process is a relatively high level of perfection of gamification development methodology than eight of published methodologies by found out this study team. But, there was a complementary point in the 4F Process. Based on results of this study, this study mentioned the pros and coms of the 4F Process and suggested the step-by-step guideline as a necessary element for the gamification development methodology.

  • Various tools and studies improving quality of gamification systems have been suggested. Among those tools and studies, Butler suggested the gamification framework, which shows the preference of different game mechanics, applying particular motivational and behavioral tendencies in the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator(MBTI). The purpose of this paper is to validate if the preference of different game mechanics by MBTI personality types proposed by Butler would be existing. This study pointed out the problem of suggested gamification framework from butler through literature survey. Also, this study conducted statistical analyzation and survey to prove correlation between MBTI personality types and game mechanics. Through an experiment and analysis, this study proved that there is no correlation between MBTI personality types and preference of different game mechanics. The designer of gamification systems should consider that it is not effective to apply differential game mechanics by MBTI personality types. If need to design a gamification system, designer must consider game mechanics's characteristics in applied environmental condition.

  • This study is to design a security game to proceed in the future based on the results of analyzing 105 research trends on gamification from 2018 to 2021 according to research period, research purpose, research subject, research topic, research method, game method, and emphasis factors. was trying to find an answer to Gamification showed a trend of increasing research related to 2021 due to the increase in the importance of non-face-to-face education in 2020, and there were not many studies targeting middle and high school students, colleges, and adults. Security-related research was a relatively incomplete and limited field, as only a small number of studies on raising awareness were conducted due to access restrictions. In the future, by referring to various research cases and statistics analyzed in this study, we will try to actually implement security education cases through gamification.

  • Currently, many universities offer a variety of programs for students to improve their knowledge and expertise for their career development. Because each program's success depends on students' active participation and passion, the university makes a lot of efforts to motivate them enhance the loyalty toward the school. Several universities in Korea operate their own loyalty program based on their students' activities. However, we need to develop a distinctive loyalty program to suit universities' education environment because the purpose of education is different from existing commercial purpose. This study shows the process that improves problems of loyalty programs that are operated by the K University and suggests new ideas based on design thinking methods. Also, this study includes a process that changes standardized and involuntary loyalty program to interesting loyalty program that induces students' voluntary participation through combining with gamification concept. The method that we suggest in this study is expected to extend various fields.

  • How to measure and evaluate the performance of managing a store? Although it is important for a retailer to execute good management in a store, there are few efficient measurement tools and methods for In-store management. Also few people are trying to deal with variety of goods (number of categories), depth of a catagory (number of stock-keeping units within a category), and stock level (the number of individual items of a particular SKU) in a store. To solve the problem, this paper suggests the Customer-Retailer Collaboration (CRC) model that utilizes Gamification. By embedding gaming elements, the store management activities can be viewed as more game-like processes. Customers find some problems they encountered in the store and send the related signals via mobile APP, and the relevant store personnel copes with the signals. As the return for their collaboration, they both will obtain points and badge. This paper designs the CRC model and shows the flow of the model briefly.

  • This study is a design study to develop the reading application for English learning courses with fun elements of Gamification incorporating user's immersion. The system is focusing on the story progression of Aesop's fable "Rabbit and Tortoise", which is consisted of chapters in digital technology. We intended to apply the four elements of fun factors by grafting Gamification into the game engine system. The purpose and significance of the study is to present the guideline through evaluation of usability from prototypes by surveying the educator group.

  • Due to the government's announcement of the 2025 policy mandating coding education, there is a growing need for effective coding learning methods in elementary education. However, there are few methods available that can easily help younger students understand coding. While text-based coding and visual block coding methods exist, they have limitations. To address these issues, we propose a block coding learning platform that combines virtual reality (VR) technology with gamification elements. The traditional two dimensional (2D) block coding methods have some limitations, so this platform aims to overcome these by providing an environment where learners can intuitively understand and experience coding in a three dimensional (3D) virtual space. The primary goal is to enhance immersive, learner-centered experiences and improve creative problem-solving skills and computational thinking. This study proposes an experimental approach to demonstrate the effectiveness of a learning platform that combines VR technology with block coding. Furthermore, we expect that the VR-based platform will significantly contribute to improving the quality of education and promoting self-directed learning among students.

  • Today, gamification that appeal to people and provide fun by applying game thinking and elements in many non-game fields is becoming a big issue. This study analyzed the case of 'Idea Community' in Creative Economy Town that combines online mentoring and gamification. In order to foster and select ideas, we conducted the open simulated investment and mentoring. In this process, members are able to acquire experience points and raise the level when doing certain activities. Besides, members felt their sense of accomplishment by receiving internal/external rewards for their activities. The results will be an importance reference for the application of gamification in various fields.

  • The trend of learning as an online study platform continues, and motivation of learners for continued use of the platform is also becoming important. In addition to learning, various services use gamification techniques that excite users for continued use. This study analyzes successful service cases and proposes guidelines applicable to learning platforms to present ways to increase learners' interest and efficiency in online study platforms using reward systems and storytelling techniques among gamification elements. Based on the three guidelines drawn through this study, it can contribute to the digitization of educational infrastructure by increasing the immersion of learners within the online study platform that will be more commercialized in the future.
