Recently, there is an increasing interest in game based learning as a teaching method for digital native learners. This study set kinect game contributes to engaged learning as the competition and cooperation play (achievement goals, interaction), the digital game play (multisensory stimulation, fantasy and curiosity, chance, accurate feedback, control), and the body movement play (embodied cognition, presence). After performing classes using the motion recognition game developed for the elementary school history class, this study conducted semi structured interviews based on engaged learning elements of kinect game based learning for students who were successfully participating in learning. In the result, each element appeared to a successful learner. Based on these results, this study hopes to assist researchers as a basic evidence to introduce kinect game-based learning for engaged learning.

The quality of the game can be evaluated by its fun and functional stability. Among them, the quality area for fun is the essence of the game, so it is a very important factor to be considered from the point of view of a game designer. Usually, fun games with high originality and immersion are designed in the early stages of development, such as idea generation and concept setting. At this time, making it possible to verify the fun factor of the game has an important influence on the success of the game. In this study, the case of using PIT technique when teaching fun element design to students who are starting to study game design was introduced and the effect was analyzed. It is expected that the PIT technique will be used more actively in the game design education field for high-quality and fun game design.

Most of elementary school students possess computers at home, and learn about ICT in their school. But the extreme use of computer games may have negative effects on students' learning and life style. In this research, we analyzed the current status of 5th and 6th graders' computer game addiction in Daejeon, ChoongchungNam-Do and ChoongchungBuk-Do areas. And we have also investigated the relationship of students' computer game addiction with their self control abilities and the abilities to adjust to their school life. As the results of the research, we discovered that 15.6% of respondents showed strong possibilities of computer game addiction. Boys, students living in rural areas and students with relatively low grade showed strong possibilities of game addiction. In addition, it was found that as students showed high scores in their self control abilities and the abilities to adjust to school life, they demonstrated less possibilities to be addicted to computer games.

Over online education based on wired Internet technologies, due to recent development of various mobile technologies, education based on mobile environment becomes popular. In the meanwhile, the young students are more interested in game-based education that provides more interaction and instant feedback than one-way cramming education. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a new motivation model for mobile environment and apply the model to the elementary school students. The proposed model, based on Keller's motivation model, is designed to increase study effects through motivating students with various game strategies. The proposed motivation model has the following characteristics. First of all, the best game genre can be provided for each study theme in early planning stage. Second, the model can allow students to have more interests in their study activity by providing various edutainment elements. Third, a stage of producing game synopsis and concrete scenario is included in motivation model. The stage enables more complete combination of game and mobile motivation strategies. Finally, the proposed model allows contents developed to be appled in teaching plan without any refinement. That is, the model allows a teaching plan to be extracted from study contents instantly.
Underachievers, having had more experience with failure in teaming, tend to lose their self-confidence and motivation for study. If they achieve more when studying, they will enhance their self-confidence and motivation and their learning accomplishments will be increased. A game-style learning system was, therefore, developed in which the learner gains self-satisfaction and motivation with a proper 'hit and win' in a game-style program. The system supplies learning content automatically and randomly while adapting to the student's level by continuously checking the learning progress. Positive effects in motivation and learning achievement were recorded when underachievers used this program.

The main goal of this research is to invest the difficulties in the process of developing serious game for science learning to acquire the suggestion. We analysed the journals written by developers of game scenario on the procedure of the development and on the review of the accomplished game. Then we also interviewed the scenario developers as well as game developers. When interviewing the game developers, we passed them the thoughts and questions of scenario developers. The possible difficulties in developing serious game are form the difference of cognitions on the skills which can be embodied in the development process and interaction and communication problem between scenario developers and game developers. As a consequence of the research, we acquired some suggestions for developing serious game as follows; 1) Scenario developers and game developers must understand the concepts of serious game as well as learning theory; 2) Both scenario developers and game developers should be aware of secured technological capacity and allowed time period. 3) Scenario developer should take a part of game developer' role as using a learning contents authoring tool; 4) Scenario developers have to consistently interact with game developers in developing the games; 5) Scenario should be concretely described in detail; and 6) A Supervisor is essential to control both scenario developers and game developers.
This study investigated the effectiveness of 'League of Legends (LoL) game school', an e-sports online training program for relieving youth game over-flow. The Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's Student Education Institute ran the program. Through this study, it was found that various activities to learn an e-sports game professionally and to explore career paths regarding game had positive effects on students' affections and intrinsic motivation. This study may contribute to helping youth as generation Z understand a healthy game culture.
Energy saving is becoming more and more important issue due to lack of resources and limited nature. However, There is a lack of learning status on energy saving in the school field. In particular, in elementary education on energy saving was not linked to practice, and the educational effect was insufficient. Although various kinds of learning tools are utilized, many successful cases of energy saving game strategy are introduced in overseas industry field, and game design is proposed so that energy related education can be played through games. Because energy conservation can not be effective without practice, learning using games as a tool is expected to be more effective than learning based on knowledge transfer in the classroom. We propose a defense game for energy conservation education by using the mission elements, score acquisition element, time limit element, and character element which are the interesting elements of the game designed in the previous research.

To develop the content and form of the teacher education program for mathematical excellence, we reviewed several teacher education programs. CGI is an excellent model for teacher education program for mathematical excellence. We developed the 12 teacher education programs based on mathematical tasks developed for the gifted children and have applied them to teacher education. It is not so difficult to develop more programs, because we have made a lot of tasks for the gifted in mathematics for 8 years.
