Indications of Galgeunhaegi-tang(葛根解肌湯) for Taeeum-type on "Donguisusebowon" are small. Therefore, indications of Galgeunhaegi-tang for Taeeum-type need to be extended for broader clinical use. There would be some methods to do that, and we could review "Dongeuibogam" that Four-Constitution Medicine formulas are based on. We reviewed Galgeunhaegi-tang, which is the origin of Galgeunhaegi-tang, and their modified formula(加減方) on "Dongeuibogam". As a result, we supposed 10 indications of non-classical formula(後世方) Galgeunhaegi-tang as possible indications of Galgeunhaegi-tang for Taeeum-type.

1. Objectives : This paper was written in order to understand the origin and changes of Galgeunhaegi-tang. 2. Methods : We analysis Galgeunhaegi-tang through pathology and new prescription in "Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)", "Chobongwon(草本卷)", "Gabobon(甲午本)" and "Sinchukbon(辛丑本)" of "Dongyi Suse Bowon". 3. Results and Conclusions : We can find the first origin of Galgeunhaegi-tang in "Sinchukbon(辛丑本)" in "Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)" which invelves Galgeunhaegi-tang in the categories of pestilence(瘟疫) and Yangmyeonggyeongbyeong(陽明經病). Also, we can find the origin in Jugoeng(朱肱)' Jojung-tang. Seungeumgalgeun-tang in the "Chobongwon(草本卷)" developed by a Galgeunhaegi-tang of "Gabobon(甲午本)", and Galgeunnabokja-tang in the "Chobongwon(草本卷)" developed by a Galgeunhaegi-tang of "Sinchukbon(辛丑本)". It is considered that Galgeunhaegi-tang of "Gabobon(甲午本)" solves heat depression(鬱熱), due to not throwing off, by using Galgeun(葛根) and Daehwang(大黃), and accompanied dryness(燥) by using Hangin(杏仁) and Sanjoin(酸棗仁) which moisten dryness(燥). It is considered that Galgeunhaegi-tang of "Sinchukbon(辛丑本)" solves heat depression(鬱熱) by using Galgeun(葛根) and accompanied dryness(燥) by using Gobon(藁本) which sets free dryness(燥).

The present study was conducted to investigate the anti-allergic activity of Galgeunhaegi-Tang(GHT). We investigated the anti-allergic effects of GHT in RBL-2H3 basophilic leukemia cells by compound48/80, a mast cell degranulator and compound 48/80 induced anaphylactic shock in mice. GHT significantly inhibited ${\beta}$-hexosaminidase and histamine release from compound 48/80 stimulated RBL-2H3 cells. In addition, GHT effectively inhibited anaphylactic shock in mice by 40% at a dose 100 mg/mouse versus PBS treated control after the l.p injection(8 mg/kg) of compound 48/80. The in vitro anti-inflammatory activities of GHT in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells were investigated. GHT inhibited NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells and effectively dowregulated the expression of iNOS mRNA and iNOS protein expression in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. These result provide evidences that GHT may be beneficial in the treatment of allergic inflammtory disease.

Sasang-Medicine can classify all sympton with more simple classifying system than past Oriental-Medicine, because Sasang Byeon-Zeung(=classifying system of the sympton) separate by four clearly. The merit of this Sasang Byeon-Zeung can be seen more clearly on the part of the pathology of the expiratory-scattering and inspiratory-gathering of the Tae-Eum and Tae-Yang. On this view point, this thesis discussed the following subjects. 1. Investigate the theory of raising-falling and scattering-gathering developed in the Dongeui-Suse-Bowon. 2. Investigate the changes of the recognition of the Yang-Dog sympton and Jo-Yeol sympton argued as Interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In caused by liver's receiving heat. 3. Investigate the Yi-Je-Ma's view on the Eum-Yang in the argument of interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In caused by liver's receiving heat. As a result, the following conclusions were led to. 1. Dongeui-Suse-Bowon considers Spleen-Kidney has the couple motion of the raising Yang and falling Eum, and Liver-Lung has the couple motion of the expiratory-scattering and inspiratory-gathering. This theory of raising-falling and scattering-gathering is same as in the concept with the gathering. This theory of raising-falling and scattering-gathering is same as in the concept with the theory of raising-falling and floating-sinking of past Oriental-Medicine, but more consistently systematized in the pathology and prescription. 2. Dongeui-Suse-Bowon considers the Yang-Dog sympton and Jo-Yeol sympton as the interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In. As following the book, the fire of desire weeken the expiratory-scattering power of the lung, and deepen the shortage of the expiratory-scattering power comparison to the inspiratory-gathering power. Therfore the sympton can be treated by releasing ourselves from the desire and taking medicine strengthening the expiratory-scattering power. 3. In the early stage of the orintal medicine, they used prescriptions composed of So-Yang medicine and Tae-Eum medicine which can cool heat. Galgeun, Mawhang and Seungma were used in the age of Sanghanron, thereafter Jugoing's Jojung-Tang and Gongsin's Galgeunhaegi-Tang were developed as prescriptions of the interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In, and finally Tea-Uem-In Galgeunhaegi-Tang was settled by Yi-Je-Ma.
