Traditional Korean medicine theory based-therapeutic potential of Gung-Gwi-Tang on postpartum obesity: psychosocial aspects of postpartum obesity

  • Obesity is psychological and socioeconomic problems as well as health problems related to physical disease and disorder. The obesity epidemic, including a marked increase in the prevalence of obesity among pregnant women, represents a critical public health problem throughout the world. Gung-Gui-Tang (GGT), a prescription of traditional Korean medicine, has been used to treat dizziness due to loss of blood as well as static blood after childbirth. However, the therapeutic potential of GGT on postpartum obesity has not been fully elucidated in an experimental model. In our research, GGT inhibited the increases of body weight and adipose tissues in postpartum mice fed a high-fat diet. GGT also inhibited the elevations of plasma lipid profiles such as triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, total cholesterol, and glutamate pyruvate transaminase. Overall, these results provide evidence that GGT can help to inhibit postpartum obesity and open new perspective to recover the shape of mother into the moment of conception.

  • 인지모델(Cognitive Model)에 의한 사용성 평가는 실제 실험에 의한 방법에 비해 시간, 노력, 비용을 절감할 수 있다. 여러 인지모델 중 ACT-R(Adaptive Control of Thought Rational)은 인간의 모든 인지과정을 상세하게 묘사할 수 있어 다른 모델보다 정확히 인간의 과제 수행을 정량적으로 예측할 수 있다. 그러나 ACT-R 모델을 수립하기 위해서는 인간의 지각, 주의, 기억 인출 등의 처리 과정과 행동 선택 및 수행에 필요한 과제 수행 규칙을 매우 상세하게 분석 및 기술해야 하기 때문에, GUI(Graphic User Interface) 환경에서 운용되는 메뉴 인터페이스와 같이 다양한 시각적 정보의 처리가 요구되는 과제에 대한 모델을 수립하는데는 많은 시간과 노력이 요구된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 GUI 환경에서 전문가 수준의 과제 수행을 예측할 수 있는 간략화한 ACT-R 모델 수립 방안을 제안하고, 이를 이용하여 상용 통계 분석 소프트웨어의 과제 수행도를 예측하였다. 그 결과 실제 실험을 통한 측정 결과와 간략화한 ACT-R 모델의 예측 결과가 잘 일치하였으며 본 연구에서 제시한 간략화한 ACTR 모델이 메뉴 인터페이스의 사용성 평가에 효율적으로 적용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • This paper includes a study on the performance analysis of SDINS by a simulator using Matlab/Simulink. The performance model is considered gravity and Coriolis force, and a barometer is included to damp down diversity of a perpendicular axis error. Using the simulator, the performance included gyro sensor errors was analyzed in various maneuvering patterns. Also, the performance is virtually presented for the variation of error parameters of gyro and accelerometer under GUI.

  • A graphic vehicle modeling pre-processing program and a visualization post-processing program have been developed for AutoDyn7, which is a special program for vehicle dynamics. The Rapid-App for GUI(Graphic User Interface) builder and the Open Inventor for 3D graphic library have been employed to develop these programs in Silicon Graphics workstation. A Graphic User Interface program integrates vehicle modeling pre-processor, AutoDyn7 analysis processor, and visualization post-processor. In vehicle modeling pre-processor, vehicle hard point data for a suspension model are automatically converted into multibody vehicle system data. An interactive graphics capabilities provides suspension modeling aides to verify user input data interactively. In visualization post-processor, vehicle virtual test simulation results are animated with virtual testing environments.

  • This paper proposes a graphical user interface for industrial robot systems. Previous user interfaces for industrial robot systems were based on the text. In order to enable operators to handle robots more efficiently, a set of graphical tools is provided. The graphical tools contain a control panel for operating robots and compiling robot programs, a graphical teaching panel for handling virtual robots and a graphical monitoring panel for checking robot status. Furthermore, the proposed GUI can be used to operate remote robots because it has network utilities. This system consists of the virtual mode and the real mode. The user can handle a 3D virtual solid model of the robot in the virtual mode and an actual robot in the real mode.

  • This paper presents on research findings of how Visual C++ program can be used to generate codes capable of performing ramjet engine simulation To understand the diversity and applicability of this tool an arbitrary ramjet model will be considered for which generated output values will be compared with those from a commercial program GASTURB 9 iterated under the same input parameters. Several governing thermodynamic equations will first be discussed in order that we understand the fundamental idea behind values printed out on the GUI. C++ compiler was chosen as a tool of use due to its availability, ease of use, ability to compute functions faster and uniquely possible to make a stand alone GUI executable in DOS mode. The program is developed in such a way that given the ambient flight conditions, burner exit temperature and several geometry areas the program generates its own input values used in the succeeding stations. A close resemblance of output values that define performance and thermodynamic state of the engine was realized between GASTURB 9 and using this code made from C++ compiler.

  • In order to operate the hydraulic structures efficiently for reducing flood damage after 4 Major River Restoration Project, it is essential to obtain enough hydraulic information with certain reliability. A coupled modeling system, providing spatial hydraulic information, for multi-dimensional hydraulic models was developed to complement 1-D hydraulic modeling. Developed system can offers spatial and grid unit information as well as line and section unit information from 1-D modeling. It is considered that the coupled modeling system can be used to provide various kinds of hydraulic information for river management and treatment.

  • Change detection using aerial and satellite images is one of the important research topics in photogrammetry and image interpretation. It is of particular importance especially in the fields of military, political and administrative affairs. When there is a need to detect changes in multi-temporal images, the most efficient methods for change detection and thresholds of change/no change area need to be chosen. Also, the images obtained from the various methods need to be analyzed. To do so, we need a system that can support our decision making process. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the Decision Support System for Change Detection. This system is composed of Data Base, Model Base and Graphic User Interface(GUI). Data base is a compilation of previous change detection results, and Model Base comprise of numerous operations. The data can be input and have the results of change detection analyzed by using GUI. In this paper, we will explain the entire operation of the system and demonstrate the level of its effectiveness.

  • Real-time multibody vehicle dynamics software has been developed for virtual handling tests. The software can be utilized for HILS(Hardware In the Loop Simulations) and consists of three modules such as a graphical vehicle modeling preprocessor, a real time dynamics solver, and a virtual reality graphic postprocessor for virtual handling tests. In the graphical vehicle modeling preprocessor, vehicle hard point data for a suspension model are automatically converted into multibody vehicle model. In the real time dynamics solver, the efficient subsystem synthesis method is used to create multibody equations of motion for a subsystem by a subsystem. In the virtual reality graphic postprocessor, an animator has been also developed by using Matlab Virtual Reality Toolbox for virtual handling tests.

  • In this paper, we developed a Windows 95 version Off-Line Programming System which can simulate a Robot model in 3D Graphic space. 4 axes SCARA Robot (especially FARA SM5)was adopted as an objective model. Forward kinematics, inverse kinematics and robot dynamics modeling were included in the developed program. The interface between users and the OLP system in the Windows 95's GUI environment was also studied. The developing language is Microsoft Visual C++. Graphic libraries, OpenGL, by Silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for 3D Graphics.
