Automated Design of PSC Sleepers in High Speed Railway Turnouts (고속 철도 PSC 분기침목의 자동화설계)

  • The design of sleeper in high-speed railway turnouts is complicated and time-consuming because the length and loading position of sleepers change continuously along the turnout line. It is, therefore, necessary to develop an automated design program which can design automatically the PSC sleepers in turnout region. In this study, a computer program for automatic design of turnout sleepers was developed based on graphic user-interface(GUI) environment. The structural analysis is performed considering the varying loading position of vehicular wheels. The sleepers are treated as located on elastic supports. The user can choose the desirable shape of sleepers before starting the detail design. The present study allows more realistic and automatic design of PSC sleepers in high-speed railway turnouts.

  • This paper describes the integrated dynamic stability(IDS) program for tuning the power system controllers, such as PSS, AVR and so on. IDS consists of three modules; power flow module, PWRLF, to calculate large scale power system load flow solutions, IDS/PSS module to calculate eigenvalues and frequency response in the range of frequency from 0.2Hz to 2Hz, and IDS/NEA module to calculate eigenvalues in the range of frequency from 5.0Hz to 55Hz. In addition, IDS provides graphic user interface(GUI) in order to let the user handle and analyze the input data and the results of calculation with convenience.

  • In this paper, optimum design problem of R.C. continuous beam is considered and GUI system is developed for using at the practical design. Objective function lot formulation of optimum design problem is made up of the costs of concrete, reinforcing steel and formwork. Design variables are width, effective depth of the beam and steel ratio and design constraints are considered on the strength, serviceability, durability and geometrical conditions. The optimum design problem is solved by using sequential linear programming(SLP), sequential convex programming(SCP) and compared their effectiveness. Also this paper shows the application at practical design work according to the development of GUI system using visual basic.

  • In this paper, we develop the image transfer remote maintenance monitoring system for hand held device which can compensate defects of human mistake. The human mistakes always happen when the worker communicate information each other to check and maintenance the equipment of the power plant under bad circumstance such as small place and long distance in power plant. A worker couldn't converse with other when in noisy place like Power plant. So, we make some hand device for handy size and able to converse in noisy place. The developed system can have improvement of productivity through increasing plant operation time. And developed system is composed of advanced H/W(hard ware) system and S/W(soft ware)system. The H/W system consist of media server unit, communication equipment with hand held device, portable camera, mike and head set. The advanced s/w system consist of data base system, client pc(personal computer) real time monitoring system which has server GUI(graphic user interface) program, wireless monitoring program and wire ethernet communication program. The client GUI program is composed of total solution program as pc camera program, and phonetic conversation program etc.. We analyzed the required items and investigated applicable part in the image transfer remote maintenance monitoring system with hand held device. Also we investigated linkage of communication protocol for developed prototype, developed software tool of two-way communication and realtime recording skill of voice with image. We confirmed the efficiency by the field test in preventive maintenance of plant power.

  • In the present study, a post-processing program is developed for 3D data visualization and analysis. Because the graphical user interface(GUI) of the program is based on Qt-library while all the graphic rendering is performed with OpenGL library, the program runs on not only MS Windows but also UNU and Linux systems without modifying source code. The structure of the program is designed according to the object-oriented programming(OOP) concept so that it has extensibility, reusability, and easiness compared to those by procedural programming. The program is organized as modules by classes, and these classes are made to function through inheritance and cooperation which is an important and valuable concept of object-oriented programming. The major functions realized so far which include mesh plot, contour plot, vector plot, streamline plot, and boundary plot are demonstrated and the relevant algorithms are described.

  • We developed a Windows-based program for discrete event simulation of truck-loader haulage systems in an underground mine. The Daesung MDI limestone mine located in Samcheok City, Gangwon Province, Korea was selected as the study area to design the program. The developed program is composed of the graphic user interface (GUI) and simulation engine implemented by Visual Basic.NET 2012 and the GPSS/H simulation language, respectively. When a user sets up input parameters for the discrete event simulation through GUI, the program activates the simulation engine, and then simulation results are displayed on GUI. This paper describes the details of the program development as well as its applications to the study area to determine the optimal number of trucks dispatched at each loading point under different operating conditions.

  • This paper presents an implementation of vector control for SMPMSM using model based controller design in MATLAB/SIMULINK. The model based controller design enables fast development of control system for motor by designing controllers and performing simulation on the GUI (Graphic User Interface) platform, converting program code directly into real-time programs, and then performing tests for the responses from controllers. The controller is designed as PI controller for speed and decoupling PI controller for current. And PWM used space vector modulation method using offset voltage and system stability is also secured by close magnitude overmodulation method, maintaining dynamics of load when it overmodulation. The validity of vector control implemented is verified through simulations and experiments.

  • 본 연구는 측정된 심전도와 광용적맥파의 박동특징점을 무결하게 검출하기 위한 프로그램 개발에 관한 것이다. 개발된 프로그램은 생체신호 계측기에서 측정된 생체신호 데이터를 자동 및 수동으로 분석하여 박동특징점의 시간 및 값 정보를 추출 및 저장하는 프로그램으로, 측정된 파형 및 검출된 특징점 위치, 인접한 특징점간 시간 간격을 시각적으로 전달할 수 있는 GUI(Graphic User Interface)를 포함한다. 개발된 프로그램은 기존 연구에서 제시된 심박동, 맥파의 박동 특징점 거출 알고리즘을 사용하여 최초 검출을 수행하고, GUI와 연동되는 컨텍스트 메뉴를 통해 오검출 또는 미검출 정보를 효율적으로 수정할 수 있도록 함으로 비전문가에 의한 쉽고 효율적인 사용이 가능하다.

  • An air handling unit(AHU) has been usually designed by manual calculations. Drawing works together with design calculations should be redone far every designing work, and also be needed to make some corrections of them. In order to design the AHU more efficiently, an AHU program has been developed. The developed program on the Windows environment is operated by the graphic user interface(GUI) realized using the Visual Basic Interpreter. The program provides calculation sheet of coils, weights and pressures in a MS-Excel file format as well as design drawing of the AHU in a Auto CAD file format idealized by AutoLISP. Those files of the commercial softwares make easier for a designer to transfer design results to the another company for bid via e-mail.

  • The design program of fitting and thrust block including various shapes and sizes was developed for the GMR project (Great Man-made River Project in Lybia). It can automatically recalculated the minimum size of fitting required for the structural performance and can also determine the proper size of fitting for the safe and economic design by users. It was found that the results of this program was accurate and efficient when it was compared to other references. This program is also developed with GUI (Graphic User Interface) technology for the convenience of users.
