  • In this research, the writer investigated the thought in realism and view on education appeared in the text, GUANZI("管子") roughly. The thoughts and contemplation in GUANZI mostly contain practical issues of politics, law and economy, as well as military policy and also get involved in the education pursuing an organic relationship therewith. In GUANZI, the rule of law and morality were applied to the politics in a harmonious fashion. Although the text upheld agrarian-oriented policy in connection with nation's economy, it, however, succeeded to secure the national wealth by having implemented the polices concerned with industry and commerce in an appropriate manner. In addition, he established strong military organization through political stability and by securing economic strength. In short, this is the policy in order to pursue 'a rich nation with a strong military.' Under such situation, education made a positive contribution to meet the realistic needs in order for reinforcement of politics, economy, and military. In the level of moral education that will set right the decorum and proprieties of the people, and their loyalty and integrity, vocational training that enabled the four divisions of society, that is, the official class, farmers, artisans and merchants, to carry out their given jobs successfully was highly valued in GUANZI. These are substantial efforts in order to establish the order of community by means of putting emphasis on people's morality and loyalty, and also to create the public weal through reinforcement of producing activities of each class of society. After all, the realistic thought and view on education appeared in GUANZI can be understood as an expression of strong will to accomplish national prosperity and military strength in order to overcome disturbing situations in the society in those days.

A Study on The Meaning of Mind(心) in The Four chapters of "Gwanja(管子)" ("관자(管子)" 4편(編)의 심(心)의 의미에 대한 연구(硏究))

  • The four chapters of "Gwanja(管子)" explains the concepts of Do(道), Deok(德), Junggi(精氣) philosophically. Because it contains thoughts about control of Mind(心), it has been considered as one of the useful references of ancient chinese philosophy. In this respect, we can think about the connections between the four chapters of "Gwanja(管子)" and Oriental medicine in philosophical perspectives. In the investigating about Oriental medical philosophy in this study, the meaning of mind(心) is classified from various angles, for example, political, self-improvemental, and physiological. Espesially the physiological meaning of mind(心) may receive attention and meaningful consideration of Oriental medicine.

  • Objectives : To define an everyday ethics for students and doctors of Korean Medicine, people who desire treatment, cultivation and healing through Korean Medical means by determining its conditions and characteristics. Ways of constructing its contents fit for contemporary society were discussed. Methods The threefold Heaven-Earth-Human theory, Yinyang theory, circulation of the Five Phases along with contents of classics such as 『Huangdineijing(黃帝內經)』, 『Guanzi(管子)』, 『Zhongyong(中庸)』, 『Daxue(大學)』, 『Beijiqianjinyaofang(備急千金要方)』, 『Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)』 were newly interpreted or quoted for explanation. Results : The elements that construct natural ethics and Natural Ethics were established as following: the natural perspective of Nature and People, natural sustainability as fundamental principle, co-existence and initiative circulation as fundamental rules, education and cultivation of lay people, and professional character and competence. Conclusions : The authors suggest a reconstruction of the inherent philosophy, ethics, principle, rule, life guidelines of Korean Medicine within the framework of "natural ethics" and "Natural Ethics" as a prior task for better integration of traditional KM into contemporary society.

  • In this thesis, I consider the definition and category Huang-Lao philosophy that doesn't argue to the present in the academic world. I consider the origin and formation of Huang-Lao philosophy, in the view of combining the history of a nature and a human. I consider the origin of Huang-Lao philosophy in the Guoyu and Zuozhuan, Huang-Lao philosophy accepts open academic tradition of Jixia philosophy that has an ideological acception freely, and I consider the process of an advance and systematic theory of Huang-Lao philosophy on the basis of the four treatises of Guanzi and Hanfeizi. Also, in this thesis, I focus on the current of Huang-Lao philosophy, on the both sides. One is acception of Zhujia of Daojia the other is acception of Daojia of Zhujia(Fajia). and I analysis the various contents and forms between a peculiar world view and a political methodology of Wubuwei(無不爲) in Huang-Lao philosophy.
