빔포밍 기법을 이용한 GPS 재밍 대응 (GPS Anti-Jamming Using Beamforming Technique)

  • GPS 위성 신호는 매우 미약하기 때문에 시스템 재밍에 노출되어 있다. 이러한 재밍은 의도적 또는 미의도적 간섭 신호 송출에 따라 발생된다. 만약 재밍 신호가 수신기로 매우 강하게 들어온다면 수신기는 자동적으로 방어할 수 있도록 작동되어야한다. 재밍 상황에서 수신기가 정상적으로 작동할 수 있도록 하는 방법은 공간 필터링이 이용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 재밍대응 기법으로 신호처리 방법인 빔포밍을 조사하고 사용 가능여부를 분석하였다. 재밍 신호를 받으면 어레이 방향을 바꾸기 위하여 빔포밍은 센서 신호를 통제할 수 있기 때문에 재머 반대 방향으로 제어할 수 있는 고각 ${\theta}$를 측정하였다. 측정결과 GPS 신호는 안테나가 제어각 안에 있을 때 사용가능하기 때문에 제어각 $30^{\circ}$까지 GPS 위치 측정이 가능하였다.

GPS 의사거리-반송파 위상 측정치의 고장검출을 위한 임계값 결정 연구 (A Study of Threshold Determination of The GPS measurement failure using GPS Code-Carrier Divergence Test)

  • In this study, The code-carrier divergence test was applied to GPS measurements, and the results were compared and analyzed. The GPS data used for the threshold determination were obtained from Global Navigation Satellite System permanent stations built by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute. At each permanent station, identical dual-frequency receiver and choke ring antenna with radome are installed. The analysis method, root mean square values were compared and analyzed for each permanent station and satellite. As a result, the root mean square value generally decreased as the satellite elevation angle increased although the trend was gentle. Threshold were finally selected based on the average and standard deviation of root mean square for each permanent station. For improving of availability and continuity in real-time operation when the threshold is over the limits, Code-Carrier divergence test values are initialized.

Design of Microstrip Antenna for Satellite Navigation System Jamming

  • This paper proposed a microstrip antenna that can perform jamming of satellite signals from the GPS L5, GLONASS G3, BDS B2 frequency bands (1164 - 1217 MHz) that are employed mainly for military purposes among the GNSS frequencies using unmanned aircrafts over the enemy's sky in time of emergency. The single element in the proposed antenna can be easily mounted to unmanned aircrafts. This study analyzed the characteristics of miniaturization and beam of radiating elements by applying the image theories and perturbation effect to satisfy the uniform level at ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ of beam steering goal due to the phase delay after antenna array. The designed microstrip antenna had a miniaturized radiating element area (x-y plane), which was reduced by 76.3% compared to that of basic microstrip antenna, and its beam width was $190^{\circ}$ in the E-plane and $140^{\circ}$ in the H plane. In addition, the simulation was conducted to determine the characteristics due to the phase delay by arranging the designed single microstrip antenna by $1{\times}4$ array and the results showed that beam steering of ${\pm}45^{\circ}$ is possible in the H-plane on the basis of $0^{\circ}$. Thus, the proposed antenna was verified to be effective in satellite signal jamming in the air as it was attached to the lower end of unmanned aircrafts.

CPW 급전 소형 광대역 준-야기 안테나 설계 (Design of Compact Broadband CPW-fed Quasi-Yagi Antenna)

  • 본 연구에서는 코플래너 도파관(Coplanar waveguide; CPW)으로 급전되는 소형 준-야기 안테나(quasi-Yagi antenna; QYA)에 칩 소자를 장하하여 광대역 특성을 갖게 하는 방법에 대해 연구하였다. 제안된 안테나는 3 소자 준-야기 안테나이며, 다이폴과 반사기의 양쪽 끝부분은 구부리고 밸런을 내장하여 소형화된 구조이다. 정합특성을 개선하기 위한 칩 커패시터 값과 장하 위치를 결정하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안된 안테나를 UHF RFID와 GPS를 포함한 대역에서 동작하도록 FR4 기판에 $90mm{\times}90mm$ 크기로 설계하였다. 정재파비가 2이하인 대역이 850-1,626 MHz(62.7%)인 광대역 특성을 갖고 이득 3dBi 이상, 전후방비 4.6 dB 이상인 양호한 특성을 볼 수 있었다.

GPS/GLONASS 통합관측자료를 이용한 가강수량 산출과 정확도 검증 (Determination of Precipitable Water Vapor from Combined GPS/GLONASS Measurements and its Accuracy Validation)

  • 대기 중의 가강수량은 시 공간적 변동이 크기 때문에 여러 시스템을 이용한 관측이 이루어지고 있다. 이 연구에서는 GNSS 시스템인 GPS와 GLONASS의 신호를 각각 그리고 통합 이용하여 가강수량을 산출하고 다른 관측시스템의 측정값과 상호비교하여 정확도를 검증하였다. 비교 관측시스템으로 라디오존데와 마이크로파 복사계를 이용하였고 세 개의 시스템은 동일한 장소에 설치되어 있어 상호간의 비교 및 관측값 특성을 분석하는데 용이하였다. 각 시스템 별로 측정한 가강수량은 평균 0.6mm-3.4mm 차이를 보였고 표준편차는 1.0mm-3.8mm로 나타났다. GNSS 측정값이 다른 두 시스템의 측정값에 비해 상대적으로 큰 차이를 보였는데 이는 실험에 사용된 GNSS 안테나가 국제적으로 제공되는 안테나 위상중심변동 모델 테이블에 존재하지 않는 모델이었기 때문으로 판단된다. 향후 안테나 위상중심변동 모델이 적용 가능한 안테나를 사용할 경우 GPS/GLONASS 통합자료처리를 통해 가강수량 산출 정확도 향상 및 GPS 위성관측이 제한적인 곳에서도 유효한 결과 획득이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

다중 GPS 수신기에 의한 농업용 차량의 정밀 위치 계측(I) - 오차추정 시뮬레이션 및 고정위치계측 - (Precise Positioning of Farm Vehicle Using Plural GPS Receivers - Error Estimation Simulation and Positioning Fixed Point -)

  • This study was conducted to develop a robust navigator which could be in positioning for precision farming through developing a plural GPS receiver with 4 sets of GPS antenna. In order to improve positioning accuracy by integrating GPS signals received simultaneously, the algorithm for processing plural GPS signal effectively was designed. Performance of the algorithm was tested using a simulation program and a fixed point on WGS 84 coordinates. Results of this study are aummarized as followings. 1. 4 sets of lower grade GPS receiver and signals were integrated by kalman filter algorithm and geometric algorithm to increase positioning accuracy of the data. 2. Prototype was composed of 4 sets of GPS receiver and INS components. All Star which manufactured by CMC, gyro compass made by KVH, ground speed sensor and integration S/W based on RTOS(Real Time Operating System)were used. 3. Integration algorithm was simulated by developed program which could generate random position error less then 10 m and tested with the prototype at a fixed position. 4. When navigation data was integrated by geometrical correction and kalman filter algorithm, estimated positioning erros were less then 0.6 m and 1.0 m respectively in simulation and fixed position tests.

GPS/RTS data fusion to overcome signal deficiencies in certain bridge dynamic monitoring projects

  • Measurement of deflections of certain bridges is usually hampered by corruption of the GPS signal by multipath associated with passing vehicles, resulting to unrealistically large apparent displacements. Field data from the Gorgopotamos train bridge in Greece and systematic experiments revealed that such bias is due to superimposition of two major effects, (i) changes in the geometry of satellites because of partial masking of certain satellites by the passing vehicles (this effect can be faced with solutions excluding satellites that get temporarily blocked by passing vehicles) and (ii) dynamic multipath caused from reflection of satellite signals on the passing trains, a high frequency multipath effect, different from the static multipath. Dynamic multipath seems to have rather irregular amplitude, depending on the geometry of measured satellites, but a typical pattern, mainly consisting of a baseline offset, wide base peaks correlating with the sequence of main reflective surfaces of the vehicles passing next to the antenna. In cases of limited corruption of GPS signal by dynamic multipath, corresponding to scale distortion of the short-period component of the GPS waveforms, we propose an algorithm which permits to reconstruct the waveform of bridge deflections using a weak fusion of GPS and RTS data, based on the complementary characteristics of the two instruments. By application of the proposed algorithm we managed to extract semi-static and dynamic displacements and oscillation frequencies of a historical railway bridge under train loading by using noisy GPS and RTS recordings. The combination of GPS and RTS is possible because these two sensors can be fully collocated and have complementary characteristics, with RTS and GPS focusing on the long- and short-period characteristics of the displacement, respectively.

  • The pseudolites are ground-based transmitters that can be configured to emit GPS-like signals with the purpose of enhancing the GPS by providing increased accuracy, integrity, and availability. Although the use of the pseudolites offers many potentially significant benefits, a number of technical issues must also be addressed. One is the pseudolite signal power level which is related with near-far problem, and other issues include deployment requirements, signal data rate, signal integrity monitoring, and user antenna location and sensitivity. In order to solve the near-far problem, the frequency offset or the pulsing schemes is implemented in most the pseudolites. However, in the case of the previous pulsing scheme with the fixed code pattern, the near-far problem still remains. This paper aims to design a sequential pulsing scheme to avoid the near-far problem. A pulse mode pseudolite has less interference than the continuous mode.

Implementation of ZUPT on RPA Navigation System for GNSS Denied Ground Test

  • In this paper, Zero velocity UPdaTe (ZUPT) is implemented on the navigation system of Remotely Piloted Aircraft for GNSS denied environment. RPA's navigation system suffers from lack or loss of satellite signal while maintenance or ground test inside a hangar. Although some of the hangars install GPS repeaters for indoor tests, the anti-jamming equipment with array antenna blocks the repeater signal regarding them as hostile jamming signal. With ZUPT, an aircraft navigation system can be tested free from the divergence of navigation solution without line-of-sight satellites. The designed ZUPT aided centralized Kalman Filter is implemented on the Embedded GPS&INS and simulated with Captive Flight Test data. The simulation result shows stable navigation solution without GNSS updates.

Quick Evaluation of Spacecraft Orbit Maneuver Using Small Sets of Real-time GPS Navigation Solutions

  • Quick evaluations of two in-plane orbit maneuvers using small see of real-time CPS navigation solutions were peformed lot the KOMPSAT-1 spacecraft operation. Real-time GPS navigation solutions of the KOMPSAT-1 were collected during the Korean Ground Station(KGS) pass. Only a few sets of position and velocity data after completion of the thruster firing were used for the quick maneuver evaluations. The results were used for antenna pointing data predictions for the next station contact. Normal orbit maneuver evaluations using large see of playback GPS navigation solutions were also performed and the result were compared with the quick evaluation results.
