This paper describes bandwidth linearization techniques in phase-locked loop (PLL) design for common-clock serial link applications. Utilizing a continuously tunable single-input dual-path LC VCO and a constant-gain phase detector, a proposed architecture is well suited to implementing PLLs that must be compliant with standards that specify minimum and maximum allowable bandwidths such as PCI Express Gen2 or FB-DIMM applications. A prototype 4.75 to 6.1-GHz PLL is implemented in 90-nm CMOS. Measurement results show that the PLL bandwidth and random jitter (RJ) variations are well regulated and that the use of a differentially controlled dual-path VCO is important for deterministic jitter (DJ) performance.

지정된 비트 크기를 갖는 승산기 코어의 Verilog-HDL 모델을 생성하는 가변 정밀도 승산기 생성기 (VPM_Gen; Variable-Precision Multiplier Generator)에 대해 기술한다. 사용자의 필요에 따라 승수와 피승수의 비트 수를 8-비트${\sim}32$-비트 범위에서 1-비트 단위로 선택할 수 있으며, 승산결과는 $8-b{\sim}64-b$ 범위에서 2-비트 단위로 절사할 수 있도록 함으로써 총 3,455 가지 승산기 코어를 생성할 수 있다. 승산결과가 절사되는 경우, 절사되는 부분의 회로를 제거함으로써 게이트 수와 전력소모가 각각 최대 40%와 30% 감소되도록 하였으며, 이를 통해 효율적인 저전력 승산기 코어가 구현되도록 하였다. 또한, 절사 비트 수에 따른 적응 오차보상 방법을 적용함으로써 절사오차가 최소화되도록 하였다. VPM_Gen에 의해 생성되는 승산기 코어는 Xilinx FPGA 보드와 논리분석기를 통하여 그 기능을 검증하였다.

본 논문은 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크와 텔레매틱스 서비스에 사용되는 무선 환경 프로토콜 표준 중 UHF 대역 프로토콜인 EPCglobal의 Class 1 Gen 1, Class 1 Gen 2의 에어인터페이스를 분석하고 각 프로토콜에서 규정된 충돌방지 알고리즘을 구현하였다. 그리고 각 프로토콜에서 규정하는 충돌방지 알고리즘의 성능을 개선한 알고리즘을 제안하고 성능을 비교하였다. 개선된 알고리즘과 표준 알고리즘의 성능 시뮬레이션 결과 개선된 Class 1 Gen 1 알고리즘은 태그 수 100개 일 때 54.5%, 태그 수 1000개 일 때 63.4% 감소하였다. 개선된 Class 1 Gen 2 알고리즘은 태그 수 100개 일 때 7.9%, 태그 수 1000개 일 때 11.7% 감소하였다. 개선된 충돌방지 알고리즘은 표준 알고리즘보다 태그 인식 성능이 상당히 개선됨을 알 수 있다. 따라서 개선된 충돌방지 알고리즘은 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크와 텔레매틱스 서비스 등에 사용되는 무선인식 시스템의 성능 개선방안으로 적용될 수 있다.

Purpose: Pop-up stores have emerged in the retail industry in recent years, offering consumers a new shopping experience for a limited time and location, and are used for a variety of purposes, including driving purchase behavior. In particular, they have become an important marketing tool among Gen MZ consumers who are quick to acquire information and sensitive to trends. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the impact of pop-up store characteristics on the purchasing behavior of MZ consumers. Research design, data and methodology: Based on a qualitative research approach, the study analyzed successful pop-up stores in Korea to closely examine how the limited operating period and experience-oriented marketing strategy of pop-up stores affect the perceptual attitudes and purchase decision process of Generation MZ. Results: The results of the case study revealed that selling limited edition items, maximizing customer experience factors, and differentiated concepts are the main factors that positively influence the purchase behavior of Gen MZ consumers. These factors contribute to the enhanced purchasing behavior of Gen MZ, making pop-up stores an effective marketing strategy. Conclusions: Pop-up stores are more than just a sales space, but an important communication channel that can strengthen the emotional connection with Gen MZ and effectively communicate brand values. This study provides useful insights for brands and companies to develop marketing strategies for MZ.

Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) are a family of proteins that mediate angiogenesis. $VEGF_{165}$ is a VEGF-A isoform and has been extensively studied owing to its potential use in therapeutic angiogenesis. This study established Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells overexpressing recombinant human $VEGF_{165}$ $(rhVEGF_{165})$ protein. The production rate of the established CHO cells was over 80mg/l of $rhVEGF_{165}$ protein from a 7-day batch culture process using a 7.5-l bioreactor with a 5-l working volume and serum-free medium. The $rhVEGF_{165}$ protein was purified to homogeneity from the culture supernatant using a two-step chromatographic procedure that resulted in a 48% recovery rate. The purified $rhVEGF_{165}$ protein was a glycosylated homodimeric protein with a higher molecular weight (MW) than the protein expressed from insect cells, suggesting that the glycosylation of the $rhVEGF_{165}$ protein in CHO cells differed from that in insect cells. The purified $rhVEGF_{165}$ protein in this study was functionally active with a half-maximal effective concentration of 3.8ng/ml and specific activity of $2.5{\times}10^5U/mg$.

호염성세균인 Kordia algicida gen. nov,, sp. nov.은 규조류인 Skeletonema costatum에 의한 적조발생동안 마산만의 표층수로부터 분리되었다. 본 균주는 숙성해수가 공급된 ZoBell 2216e 배지에서 성장이 가능하나 $3\%$ NaCl만이 공급된 동 배지에서는 성장하지 않았다. 13종의 주된 재수성분을 대상으로 한 염류 요구성 조사에서 $Na^+,\;Mg^{2+}$ 및 $Ca^{2+}$ 이온이 제한된 배지에서는 성장을 하지 않아, 성장을 위해 필수적으로 3조의 이온을 요구하였다. 3종의 이온을 대상으로 한 Kinetic 조사에서 $Na^+,\;Ca^{2+}$ 및 $Mg^{2+}$ 의 Km 간은 각각 0.202 M, 0.089 mM, and 0.189 mM로 결정되었으며 $V_{max}({\mu}max)$는 또한 0.442h, 0.411h 및 0.316h로 결정되었다. 현미경적 관찰에서 K. algicida는 각 이온들을 제한하였을 때 $2\~8$시간에 내에 빠른 사멸을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과로 Kordia algicida는 해양으로부터 유래된 전형적인 호염성세균임을 알 수 있었으며 해양유래 미생물의 분리 시 각별한 주의가 요구됨을 시사한다.

Previous research efforts on performance evaluation of multidimensional indexes typically have used synthetic data sets distributed uniformly or normally over multidimensional space. However, recent research research result has shown that these hinds of data sets hardly reflect the characteristics of multimedia database applications. In this paper, we discuss issues on generating high dimensional data and query sets for resolving the problem. We first identify the features of the data and query sets that are appropriate for fairly evaluating performances of multidimensional indexes, and then propose HDDQ_Gen(High-Dimensional Data and Query Generator) that satisfies such features. HDDQ_Gen supports the following features : (1) clustered distributions, (2) various object distributions in each cluster, (3) various cluster distributions, (4) various correlations among different dimensions, (5) query distributions depending on data distributions. Using these features, users are able to control tile distribution characteristics of data and query sets. Our contribution is fairly important in that HDDQ_Gen provides the benchmark environment evaluating multidimensional indexes correctly.

'Power-Gen International(이하 'PGI)'은 세계 최대의 전력산업 전시회 중 하나로 매년 말 미국에서 개최된다. 올해에는 플로리다주 올랜도 오렌지카운티 컨벤션센터에서 원자력과 신재생에너지 분야까지 포함해 '2014 Power-Gen International/Nuclear Power International/Renewable Energy World'라는 이름으로 행사가 성대히 개최됐다. 이번 전시회에는 전 세계 90개국에서 2만2,000여 명이 참관하고, 다양한 분야에서 200편 이상의 기술발표와 분야별 세미나가 진행되는 등 세계 최대의 전시회라는 명성을 어김없이 보여줬다. 대한전기협회에서는 전력산업 관련 최신 기술동향을 파악하고, 세계 유명기업과 중소 제조사와의 교류확대, 신제품 파악 등을 위해 매년 전력산업계 관계자들을 참관단으로 모집해 PGI에 매년 참가하고 있다. 올해도 전기협회는 한전, 한수원 등 전력그룹사 및 SK E&S, 현대그린파워 등 산업계 관계자 약 30여명의 참관단을 이끌고 PGI에 참가했다. PGI를 직접 다녀온 관계자들의 참관기를 소개한다.

The Generation Z (Gen-Z) consumer has a unique beauty-consuming behavior that is distinct from the previous generations. This study aims to identify the meaning of makeup rituals based on the theoretical framework of the ritual concept. In-depth interviews were conducted with fifteen females in their mid-teens to early 20s. The results showed that Gen-Z has different types of makeup ritual scripts for both ordinary days and special days, which are constantly being re-written and revised based on the experience accumulated. In addition, there are various types of ritual artifacts that play an important role in Gen-Z's makeup ritual, and that they provide psychological comfort and satisfaction. The importance of DIY (Do It Yourself), collecting, and independent brands is emphasized. The role of Gen-Z in the makeup ritual was expanding from a creator for her own ritual to a collaborator for peers' rituals, and sometimes the expansion goes beyond the direct relationships to virtual ones through SNS (Social Network Service). The Gen-Z cohort is found to be a member of beauty knowledge network through which they learn, share, and create the know-how and shopping skills.

This paper deals with a new genus, Mainothrus gen. n., and a new species, M. aquaticus sp. n., belonging to Trhypochthoniidae Willmann, 1931 from Korea. The key characters of the new genus distinguishable from other genera of Trhypochthoniidae are 1) six pairs of genital setae, 2) two pairs of anal setae, 3) fifteen pairs of notogastral setae, and 4) epimeral setal formula; 3-1-3-2.
