Auto_LISP을 이용한 기어설계 프로그램 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of the Gear Design Program Using Auto_LISP)

  • After investigating repeatedly results obtained through gear stress analysis, we make a determination of an optimal gear shape. But its design process was not only complex but also difficult to get a precise profile curve from operating by hand. In this study, relating shape of gear profile curves was generated automatically with standard spur gear, equivalent helical gear, shifted gear & pinion by using developed program which is using Auto_LISP language in Auto-CAD. This program which can design rapidly gear shapes will successfully support gear designing and manufacturing fur Small & Medium companies.

  • Tooth errors inevitable in the manufacturing process have large effect on the strength/durability and vibration performances of gear drives. We show that the manufacturing errors affect the overall gear performances, especially vibration performance, and propose a robust optimal design method for gear dimension and its tooth flank form that guarantees reliable performances to the variation of manufacturing errors. This method begins with a search of optimal design candidates by using the previously developed gear optimal design method for the strength/durability and vibration performances. Then, the statistical analysis method is applied to find a robust design solution for the vibration performance which is generally very sensitive to the manufacturing variations.

  • To reduce the vibration of a gear driving system, the modification of gear tooth from the orignal involute gear profile is usually done in gear manufacturers. The quantity of tooth modification has been decided on the basis of the interference between two gear teeth during gear meshing and the elastic deformation due to loading. However, the dynamic characteristics with tooth modification has to be investigated to avoid the instability to the variation of gear meshing stiffness and the nonlinearity due to gear backlash which results in sub- or super-harmonics in its responses. This research shows the dynamic characteristics with various tooth modifications in its type and quantity.

  • Automation facilities of greenhouses have been continuously developed. However, the conventional two-stage worm gear reducer reveals some problems, including low transmission efficiency. The worm gear reducer also have some difficulties in manufacturing and short life. Therefore, this study was performed to develop a planetary gear reducer, having a high Sear reduction ratio and high torque transmission efficiency. The planetary gear system consisted of a fixed ring gear and a 2-teeth differential ring gear turning slow, as the planetary pinion orbits fast around the fixed ring gear. The developed gear system can achieve a high speed reduction rate at one stage. The reducing system was employed to the greenhouse ventilation system. The reducer has the transmission efficiency of 70.5%, 2∼3 times longer life time, and twofold roll-up torque at an affordable price, comparing with conventional reducers. This reducer can be also applied to many industrial equipments, such as industrial crane, hoist, elevator and gondola etc.

  • A method of establishing the tooth modification for gear transmission of vehicles to reduce gear whine noise, caused by tooth impact phenomenon of mating gear, is introduced. The major causes of tooth impact are due to the deflections of gear teeth and shafts of transmission with the loaded condition including various kinds of manufacturing errors. The theoretical shape of tooth surface to avoid tooth impact is derived by the amount of elastic deformation of gear teeth and shaft and overall manufacturing error of machine tool. The surface function is converted with respect to the conventional commercial data usually communicated to the gear inspection system. The proposed method is applied to the gearbox of four wheel drive vehicle and shows the gear whine noise decreased to the 8 dB in the sound level.

  • The non-periodic angular accelerations of engine are the major cause of gear rattle. This gear rattle is based on the existence of a backlash between the drive gear of input shaft and the free gear of output shaft in the gearbox. Especially, the neutral gear rattle have a very bad effect on the ride quality. Test-rig was constructed in order to evaluate the parameter influence upon the neutral gear rattle. Also, each different 4 type torsional characteristic of clutch was manufactured. Experimental conditions are the use of each different 4 type torsional characteristic of clutch and oil temperature variation in gearbox. In case of the same stiffiness of pre-damper type clutch at idling, the clutch of large hysteresis showed dam- ping effects at the 2nd input gear and the 2nd output gear. Also, the main-damper type clutch was shown to large resonance phenomenon at the 2nd input gear. Accordingly, main-damper type clutch was unapp- roriate at idling.

엘리베이터용 기어펌프 개발 (Development of the Hydraulic Gear Pump for an Elevator)

  • A gear pump is a type of pump that displaces a volume of fluid by physical or mechanical action, or positive displacement pump. Power is applied to one of the gears and transmitted to a second driven gear via meshing teeth. This paper describes the hydraulic gear pump for an elevator. In gear pump, since geometrically special forms of gear tooth, 'Pulsations' is always caused in the delivery pressure and quantity. In other words, it is found that the number of delivery pressure pulsation per each revolution is always equal to that of the gear-teeth of the gear, which is coincident with the pulsation of the ideal delivery quantity. Some experimental results are given to verify the effectiveness of the developed pump.

  • Because many light rail transit systems are mainly operated in the downtown areas of a large cities and the congestion areas, there are many steep gradients and sharp radius sections in that lines. As that reasons above, light rail vehicles are equipped with differential gear units between traction motors and final reduction gear units. In this paper, the configurations and the interferences of 2K-H I type Planetary gear train, which is applicable for light rail vehicles and based on various differential gear units, are studied. The ranges of addendum modification coefficients which would not lead to interferences is analyzed, and optimal addendum modification coefficients among these ranges are presented, which generate the maximum efficiency of planetary gear drives and differential gear unit as pressure angles, speed ratios,
