퍼지 전문가 시스템을 이용한 다단 기어장치 메커니즘의 초기 설계 (Preliminary Mechanism Design of Multi-Stage Gear Drives by Using a Fuzzy Expert System)

  • This paper proposes an efficient mechanism design system of multi-stage gear drives including not only parallel shaft gears but also non-parallel gears such as bevel and worm gear drives. The system automatically generates three dimensional structures of specification-adjusted mechanisms, and shows the sorted list of the mechanisms according to the evaluation result by using a fuzzy expert system. The list can be used as reliable candidates of the spatial mechanism structures of multi-stage gear drives. Thus, it is expected that the system can increase the efficiency of design and cut off the expenses of preliminary design considerably.

  • In this study, the increasing gear boxes for the high speed vertical in-line centrifugal pump are developed through rotor dynamic analysis. The developed increasing gear boxes are two kinds for 18000rpm and 25000rpm at the output shaft. The gear sets suitable for high speed and high load are manufactured by investigating AGMA bending strength and AGMA surface strength severely. The rotor dynamic analysis on gear sets and bearings is performed in order to avoid the critical speeds and other troubles. As a result of study, the two increasing gear boxes for the high speed vertical in-line centrifugal pump are designed and manufactured.

  • A gear whine sound due to the axle system is one of the most important sound qualities in a sport utility vehicle (SUV). In the previous research about the gear whine sound, it was known that it is difficult to evaluate the gear whine sound objectively by using the only A-weighted sound pressure level because of the masking effect. In this paper, for the objective evaluation of the axle-gear whine sound, the characteristics of the axle-gear whine sound is at the first investigated based on the synthetic sound technology and the new objective evaluation method for the axle-gear whine sound is developed by using the sound metrics, which is the psychoacoustics parameters, and the artificial neural network (ANN) used for the modeling of the correlation between objective evaluation and subjective evaluation.

  • The SCM420 used mainly to automobile transmission gear has problems that it costs transmission gear maker much money in carburising treatment. For this, it needs to alternate the existing material and heat treatment to new gear material and surface modification. For this, friction and wear experiment according to sliding speed and applied load was carried out to evaluate the wear resistance of two transmission gear materials with carburising SCM420 and nitrocarburising NT100, The presumed wear volume was calculated with the image processing for evaluation of wear resistance of two transmission gear materials. The results show that nitrocarburising NT100 has a distinguished wear resistance than carburising SCM420.

내접치차의 강도에 관한 연구 (A study on strength of internal gear)

  • Bending strength of an internal gear tooth is discussed as tooth form factor taking into account the actual stress magnitude. Stress analysis was carried out by the finite element method(FEM) for the calculation of tooth form factor of an internal gear. This paper also investigated the influences of number of teeth and addendum modification coefficient of the internal gear and the influences of number of teeth, addendum modification coefficient, pressure angle, radius of rounding of tooth tip, and bottom clearance coefficient of the pinion-shaped cutter on tooth form factor of internal gear. Generalizing the resultant data, a simple formula for the tooth form factor of an internal gear was derived for the calculation of tooth bending strength of an internal gear.

  • Recently the studies on the vibration and the noise of a helical gear transmission have been focused on the many researchers. The manufacturing error and the deformation of the tooth profile, which generates the vibration and the noise of the gear transmission, are main factors. The major purpose of this study is to develop an optimal design program for reducing the vibration and the noise of the helical gear. To obtain the these results, we restrain the helical gear from the deformation of the tooth profile and increase the contact ratio within the optimal design program. Furthermore we made the three-dimensional solid modeling of the helical gear from the AutoCAD and the Pro/Engineer. This model will be available to generate the finite element model and the NC code.

쇼트피닝에 의한 자동차용 베벨기어의 피로설계 (Fatigue Design of Bevel Gear for Automobile by Shot Peening)

  • The fatigue characteristics of bevel gear used for differential gear of automobile was investigated in this paper. From the A-N(Almen intensity-Number of fracture)curve of bevel gear it was shown that there was a specific time that have a maximum fatigue life. Optimal peening condition was 65m/s of project velocity and 8min of project time. Fatigue life was also investigated from the S-N curve between optimal peened specimen and unpeened specimen. Another very significant point is that the crack initiation of bevel gear by shot peening was generated in the subsurface from fractography. This paper shows that shot peening process tremendously improve fatigue characteristics of bevel gear.

  • Since the upsetting type is superior to an extrusion type to get the dimensional accuracy of cold forged spur gear, the upsetting type process far spur gear cold forging has been studied. FE analysis of upsetting type process fur spur gear cold forging was performed to investigate about flow pattern of workpiece and die stress. To analyze the elastic characteristics of die, both rigid and elastic material model were used during loading stage. Under-filled defects were detected In lower portions of spur gear forged by upsetting type in experimental. When the elastic material model for die was used, the under-filled defects could be predicted. On the other hand, if the material model of die was rigid, the defects could not been presented because the die deflection was not considered.

  • The transmission load of gear devices is important factor in the design of gear system. To design gear system precisely, an analysis and calculation methods for transmission load of gears are demanded. The purpose of this study is to develop a computer program for analyzing tooth load sharing of a spur gear system by means of the contact theory. In this paper, load transmission characteristics is identified with elastic contact problem which is assumed to quasi-static equilibrium. The modeling of spur gear tooth is accomplished by application of I-DEAS.

헬리콥터 휠타입 착륙장치 충돌특성 연구 (Impact Dynamic Analysis for the Wheel-Type Landing Gear System of Helicopter)

  • In this study, the dynamic characteristics for the wheel-type landing gear system of helicopter have been analyzed. Nonlinear multi-body dynamic models of the landing gear system are constructed and the equations of motion, kinematics and internal forces of shock strut are considered. In addition, flexibility effect of the wheel axle with equivalent beam element is taken into account. General purpose commercial finite code, SAMCEF which includes MECANO module is applied. The results of dynamic simulation for various landing and weight conditions are presented and compared with each other. Based on the results, characteristics of impact dynamic behaviors of the landing gear system are practically investigated.
