Recently, the demand for high-resolution satellite images increases in many fields such as land monitoring and terrain analysis. Therefore, the need for geometric correction is increasing. As an automatic precision geometric correction method, there is a method of automatically extracting the GCP by matching between the GCP Chip and the satellite image. For automatic precision geometric correction, the success rate of matching GCP Chip and satellite image is important. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the matching performance of the manufactured GCP Chip. In order to evaluate the matching performance of GCP Chips, a total of 3,812 GCP Chips in South Korea were used as experimental data. The GCP Chip matching results of KOMPSAT-3A and Google Map showed similar matching results. Therefore, we determined that Google Map satellite imagery could replace high-resolution satellite imagery. Also, presented a method using center point and error radius of Google Map to reduce the time required to verify matching performance. As a result, it is best to set the optimum error radius to 8.5m. Evaluated the matching performance of GCP Chips in South Korea using Google Maps. And verified matching result using presented method. As a result, the GCP Chip s in South Korea had a matching success rate of about 94%. Also, the main matching failure factors were analyzed by matching failure GCP Chips. As a result, Except for GCP Chips that need to be remanufactured, the remaining GCP Chips can be used for the automatic geometric correction of satellite images.

An application frequency of vertical drainage method is increasing as an effective consolidation acceleration method. PBD method is most frequently used as a consolidation acceleration method in vertical drainage methods. PBD is economical and easy to operate but has some problems those are an environmental pollution and a decrease of a discharge capacity caused by bending of drainage materials when it is used in great depth. SCP method was frequently used because it's discharge capacity was good but now it is rarely used because of an increase of the material price because of an order imbalance. As the way to solve these problems, GCP method has been to the fore. For analyzing the effect of GCP method on the discharge capacity, three types of composite discharge capacity tests are done by using GCP, SCP and PBD respectively with the circle case, ${\phi}38{\times}h70cm$. On the contrary to this, GCP shows the worst discharge capacity for a decrease of the void ratio and the clogging phenomenon caused by increasing load. Also to figure out the clogging range of GCP, the clogging of GCP is checked in each load stage with a large case($1.0m{\times}0.5m{\times}1.1m$) which has clear acrylic front face. The diameter of GCP was 35cm and a clogging phenomenon occurred in 10% approximately. The result shows that the discharge capacity of GCP was given the lowest value for a decrease of the void ratio and the clogging phenomenon causing by increasing load. And the clogging phenomenon mostly occurred within 10% of GCP's diameter range.
A new method, called dynamic space projection method that is suitable to remote sensing image, is adopted to encrypt GCP (ground control point) datum in this paper. The essence of this method is to encrypt enough GCP by using a few known GCP in order to realize the precise correction of remote sensing image. By making use of the method to the GCP datum encrypting and precise geometric correction of TM image and SPOT image, the precision of encrypted GCP is less than one pixel, the precision of precisely corrected image is less than two pixels.

Gravel Compaction Pile (GCP) method is currently being designed and constructed by empirical method because quantitative design method has not been developed, leading to various types of and frequent destruction such as expansion failure and shear failure and difficulties in establishing clear cause and developing measure to prevent destruction. In addition, despite the difference with domestic construction equipment and material characteristics, the methods applied to the overseas ground is applied to the domestic as it is, leading to remarkable difference between applied values and measured values in variables such as bearing capacity and the settlement amount. The purpose of this study was, therefore, to propose a reasonable and safe design method of GCP method by analyzing the settlement and stress behavior characteristics according to ground strength change under GCP method applied to domestic clay ground. For the purpose, settlement amount of composite ground, stress concentration ratio, and maximum horizontal displacement and expected location of GCP were analyzed using ABAQUS. The results of analysis showed that the settlement and Settlement reduction rate of composite ground decreased by more than 60% under replacement ratio of 30% or more, that the maximum horizontal displacement of GCP occurred at the depth 2.6 times pile diameter, and that the difference in horizontal displacement is slight under replacement ratio of 30%.

Graph Coloring Problem(GCP) is a problem of assigning different colors to nodes which are connected by an edge. An extended form of GCP is TCP (T-coloring problem) and, in TCP, edge weights are added to GCP and it is possible to extend GCP's applications. To solve TCP, in this paper, we propose an improved Simulated Annealing(SA) method with search space smoothing. It has been observed that the improved SA method obtains better results than SA does.
Recently, engineering problems such as long-term settlement, differential settlement, and the resultant structural damage, have been frequently reported at construction sites. Use of Sand Compaction Piles(SCP) and Granular Compaction Piles(GCP) are good at remedying existing problems, improving bearing capacity and promoting consolidation. However, such compaction piles have the potential for clogging, which would limit their usability. Investigations into the potential for clogging in SCP, GCP, and GCP mixed with sand has not been thoroughly conducted and is the objective of this current study. Large scale direct shear tests were performed on sections of SCP, GCP, and sand mixed GCP to evaluate bearing capacity. Discrete Element Method analyses were conducted with PFC3D and Finite Element Analyses were conducted with MIDAS GTS to propose an algorithm to help reduce clogging in the granular compaction piles. Results from the large scale direct shear test and multiple simulations suggest a 70% gravel and 30% sand mixing ratio to be optimal for bearing capacity and reducing clogging.

The behaviour characteristics of Granular Compaction Pile(GCP) are mainly governed by the lateral confining pressure mobilized in the matrix soft soil to restrain the bulging failure of the granular compaction pile. The GCP method is most effective in soft soil with untrained shear strength ranging from $15\sim50\;kPa$. However, the efficiency of this method is falling down in the more compressible soil conditions, which does not provide sufficient lateral confinement. In the present study, the GCP method reinforced with uniformly graded permissible concrete is suggested for the extension of application to the soft ground. Also, large triaxial compression tests are conducted on composite- reinforced soil samples for verification of availability of the suggested method and the settlement estimation method of the reinforced GCP is proposed. Further, for the verification of a validity of the proposed method, predicted settlements are compared with results of numerical analyses. Tn addition, parametric studies are performed together with detailed analyses of relevant design parameters.
Satellite images are utilized for various purposes and many people are concerned about them. But it is necessary to process geometric correction for using of satellite images. However, common user regards geometric correction, which is basic preprocessing for satellite image, as laborious job. Therefore we should provide an automatic geometric correction method for Landsat image using GCP chip database. The GCP chip database is the collection of pieces of images with geoinformation and is provided by XML web service. More specifically, XML web service enables common users to easily use our GCP chip database for their own geometric correcting applications.

This paper presents a method of construction and re-use of a GCP database for precision geometric correction of high resolution satellite images. Accurate geometric correction can be achieved by using accurate GCPs. The GCP information which is extracted from maps or other sources is saved in a database in conjunction with the corresponding image chips. The usage of the GCPs from the database gives reusability and efficiency in marking new GCPs. An image matching algorithm was developed to determine the corresponding positions between an image chip and a new image. The proposed technique can save time in the regular operation of satellite image preprocessing by propagating the pre-determined GCPs to the new image correction.
RFM is the sensor model of IKONOS imagery for end-users. IKONOS imagery vendors provide RPC (Rational Polynomial Coefficients), Ration Function Model coefficients for IKONOS, for end-users with imagery. So it is possible that end-users obtain geospatial information in their IKONOS imagery without additional any effort. But there are requirements still fur rigorous 3D positions on RPC user. Provided RPC can not satisfy user and company to generate precision 3D terrain model. In IKONOS imagery, physical sensor modeling is difficult because IKONOS vendors do not provide satellite ephemeris data and abstract sensor modeling requires many GCP well distributed in the whole image as well as other satellite imagery. Therefore RPC modification is better choice. If a few GCP are available, RPC can be modified by method which is introduced in this paper. Study on evaluation modified RPC in IKONOS reports reasonable result. Pseudo GCP generated with vendor's RPC and additional GCP make it possible through sequential solution.
