순천만 유기인제제 농약의 측정 (Determination of Organophosphorous Pesticides in Suncheon Bay)

  • Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)를 이용하여 순천만유역내 유기인제 제 농약의 분포특성을 규명하기 위해 해수, 담수 및 기수 시료가 분석되었다. 우리 나 라에서 최초로 유기인제제 농약 Kitazin-P가 해양환경에서 검출되었으며 그 농도는 최 고2.2 mg/l를 기록하였다. 또한 순천만 유역내의 지역적인 변화와 시간적인 분포도 아 울러 연구되었다.

Analysis of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Agricultural Soils by Gas Chromatography-Ion Trap Tandem Mass Spectrometry

  • An investigation has been carried out on collision-induced dissociation (CID) in the development of an analytical protocol for the determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PARs) by ion trap tandem mass spectrometry. Two different considerations were used to choose the optimal CID conditions for complex matrix environmental samples, namely, to determine the highest signal-to-noise (SIN) ratio and the other to eliminate the background interferences originated from complex matrix samples. The PAR content of agricultural soil was measured to estimate overall distribution of PAR in throughout the country, we collected and analyzed 226 soil samples from paddy and upland soil. The average content of total PAR in all samples was 236 ${\mu}g$ $kg^{-1}$, and the range was from 23.3 to 2, 834 ${\mu}g$ $kg^{-1}$. The overall distribution of PAR was found to be closely related to the pollution sources, the size of city and the type of industry.

  • The notched Charpy and Izod impact tests arc the most prevalent techniques used to characterize the effects of high impulse loads on ploymeric materials. An analysis method for rubber toughened PVC is suggested to evaluate critical strain energy release rates(Gc) from the Charpy impact energy measurements. An Instrumented Charpy impact tester was used to extract ancillary information concerning fracture properties in addition to total fracture properties and maximum critical loads. The stress intensity factor Kd was computed for varying amounts of rubber contents from the obtained maximum critical loads and also toughening effects were investigated as well.

  • The thermal desorption-gas chromatographic (TD-GC) system has been constructed for the measurement of volatile organic compounds. The thermal desortion unit is composed of four major parts: 1) the control part; 2) the thermal desorption part; 3) the focusing part; and 4) the injection part. The peltier element was introduced to the focusing part for the temperature of the focusing tube to reach-35$^{\circ}C$. The system was tested for the linearity of the calibration curves and reproducibility of instrumental analyses using some disinfection by-products (DBPs) and BTXs (benzene, toluene and p-xylene). The coefficients of determination (r$^2$) for all the calibration curves made were higher than 0.998, and the coefficients of variation (CV) for triplicate measurements were all within 10%. The system also has been tested for field applicability. The analysis of field samples showed that there was no breakthrough problem in the sampling system and that the system could be applied to field measurements.

  • The prevention of oxidative degradation in fats and oils is largely controlled by the use of synthetic phenolic antioxidants. Antioxidants, BHA: 2-&-3-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyanisol, BHT: 3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxytoluene, TBHQ: tert-butylhydroquinone, PG: propyl gallate, PTG: pentyl gallate, OG:octyl gallate, were extracted from fatty foods with hexane and from hexane layer to presaturated acetonitrile with hexane. The polar phenolic hydroxyl groups of antioxidants were silylated with MSTFA and injected to Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry. The calibration plots were linear in the investigated range, 0.1~10.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g. The limit of detection for 6 phenolic antioxidants was 0.1 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g. Recoveries and reproducibilities from samples fortified at 1.0 $\mu\textrm{g}$/g were in the range of 70~90% and 0.5~13%, respectively. The simultaneous determination of phenolic antioxidants in fatty foods using GC/MS-SIM mode and macro program was described.

  • From olibanum, acetylboswellic acid (I) and boswellic acid (II) were isolated as mixed crystals of $\alpha$-and $\alpha$-forms in the ratio of 1 to 2 and 1 to 4, respectively. And acetyl-11-keto$\beta$-boswellic acid (III) and 11-keto-$\beta$-boswellic acid (IV) were also isolated and their $\alpha$-forms were not found in olibanum by GC/selected ion monitoring MS technique. Contents of four compounds were determined.

의약외품중 산화에칠렌가스의 잔류량 분석 (Determination of the Residual Ethylene Oxide in Quasi-drugs)

  • The quasi-drugs including nonwoven fabric and gauze were sterilized using ethylene oxide (EO) gas. Residual EO in the quasi-drugs was extracted with water (20 mL of water for 1 g of sample) for 24h at 37$^{\circ}C$. Residual EO was determined using GC. The optimal analytical conditions were as follows : column, Carbowax 20M (1.D. 0.2 mm); mobile phase, helium with 30 mL/min; oven temperature 57$^{\circ}C$, injector temperature 18$0^{\circ}C$, detector temperature 20$0^{\circ}C$. The detection limit for EO was 0.10$\mu$g/mL. When the residual EO extracted from nonwoven fabric and gauze was determined, it took more than 9h to get the lower level than 25 ppm which is the limit value of FDA guideline. When the EO residues, ethylene chlorohydrine (ECH) and ethylene glycol (EG) in the 7 commercially available quasi-drugs were determined, no residual EO, ECH, EG were found from the seven commercially available quasi-drugs analyzed by this method.

Allyl Alcohol 및 Ethanol 혼합투여에 의한 혈중 농도 변화 및 독성과의 상관성 (Kinetic Studies of Parent Compounds and Its Metabolite by Combined Treatment of Allyl Alcohol with Ethanol in vivo)

  • Allyl alcohol is metabolized in the liver through two steps, first to reactive acrolein by alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), subsequently to acrylic acid by aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH). Since ethanol could compete the same enzymes to be metabolized in the liver, we have determined the plasma concentrations of allyl alcohol and ethanol followed by combined treatment. Pretreatment of rats with 2g/kg ethanol followed by ip administration of 40mg/kg allyl alcohol increased the lethality significantly. Determination of in vivo blood concentrations revealed that ethanol pretreatment caused the apparent decrease in allyl alcohol clearance, whereas acetaldehyde level in blood increased significantly by allyl alcohol treatment, as determined by head space GC analysis. Treatment of 4-methylpyrazole, an inhibitor of ADH, delayed allyl alcohol elimination significantly and reduced its lethality. Collectively, these findings suggested that reduction of allyl alcohol clearance in the presence oj ethanol was mediated through ADH competitive inhibition.

  • Because people who take more than two drugs have increases, a simple and sensitive method for the simultaneous analysis of amphetamine, methamphetamine and nalbuphine in urine was developed. After alkalinization of the urine samples with 6 N-NaOH, the analytes were extracted using ethyl acetate, derivatized with MSTFA : TSIM : TMCS (= 100 : 2 : 5) prior to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS) analysis with selected ion monitoring.   • Dextromethophan and carisoprodol have been abused to obtain a hallucination for longer than 10 years in Korea. Due to their seriousness of abuse liablility, recently government decided to control them as a psychotropic agents. As these are controlled, it is necessary for us to establish the analysis of these medicine and their metabolites in hair to prove the abuse of these drugs. This study is described for the determination of dextrometorphan and carisoprodol in hair. (omitted)
