  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of density, temperature, size, and grain direction on measurement of moisture contents (MC) of wood materials non-destructively. The MC of different sizes of solid wood, glulam, and CLT from larch (larix kaempferi, $560kg/m^3$) and pine (pinus koraiensis, $430kg/m^3$) were measured using the dielectric type and resistance type meters. The specimens were conditioned in the environmental chamber to be equilibrium moisture content (EMC) of 12 % and 19 %. When density setting in dielectric type meter was increased from $400kg/m^3$ to $600kg/m^3$, the MCs of specimen (S-L-100-E) were decreased from 13.4 % to 11.3 %. However, when wood group (WG) setting in resistance type meter was changed from WG1 to WG4, the measured MCs were increased from 9.2 % to 12.3 %. When temperature setting in resistance type meters was changed from 0 to $35^{\circ}C$, the MC was decreased from 17.0 % to 13.0 %. The MCs measured by dielectric type meter for larger specimens (S-L-100-E_11.3 %, G-L-240-E_11.7 % and C-L-120-E_12.8 %) were higher than those of small size specimens (S-L-30-E_8.7 %, G-L-150-E_10.3 %, and C-L-90-E_9.7 %). The MCs measured by resistance type meter for larger specimens (G-L-240-E_11.6 % and C-L-120-E_13.3 %) were also higher than those of small size specimens (G-L-150-E_10.4 %, and C-L-90-E_11.8 %). The resistance type meter was not affected by the grain direction but the dielectric type meter were affected by the grain direction. The MC measured by resistance type meter for G-L-120-E perpendicular to grain direction was 11.5 % and the measured MC parallel to grain direction was 11.3 %. The MC measured by dielectric type meter parallel to grain direction (12.1 %) was higher than that measured perpendicular to grain direction (10.7 %).

The total of free sugars were 31.93mg/100, among them, fructose was 26.27, sucrose was 1.27 mg/100g. The inorganic material contents were 1,476.21mg/100g of potassium, 255.96 mg/100g of calcium and 311.41 mg/100g of magnesium. The saturated fatty acids were 40.73mg/100g and the unsaturated fatty acids were 59.27mg/100g, among which the linoleic acid was 41.28mg/100g, the palmitic acid was 33.11mg/100g, the oleic acid was 10.07mg/100g and linolenic acid was 7.92mg/100g. DPPH radical scavenging was 33.9% of teas that were developed, 2.3% of M's tea for comparison, and 37.2% of indiex material. ABTS radical scavenging were 90.7% of teas developed, 85.9% of M's tea and 37.2% of index materials, and SOD like activities were 11.3% of teas developed and 50.5% of M's teas. The flavonoid content was 2.6 fold of the tea developed, 2.9 fold of M's tea and 1.7 fold of index material. The polyphenol content was 33.8 fold of teas developed, 38.9 fold of the M's tea and 13.8 fold of the index material. The sensory evaluation compare to the one-time extract and the five-time extract. Based on the one-time extract, the color were 65.9 % of the five-time extract tea were developed, 12.8 % of the M's tea. Flavour were 78.0% of the tea developed and 33.3% of the M's tea, tastes were 71.4% of the tea developed, 20.7% of the M's tea. The cart for comparison showed that while the extract decreased as we developed it, the overall symbolism decreased to 21.4% after five time extracts, the developed tea decreased to 72.1%. We believe that the developed tea will have a greater effect on preventing and improving diseases as it has a stronger antioxidant function, more effective substances, and a higher level of symbolism than the comparative M squared tea and surface substance.

  • We investigated the gene expression patterns and the mechanisms of action of the apoptotic response by microarray analysis of human keratinocyte HaCaT cells treated with ginsenoside Rb1, a saponin of Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer. Genes related to apoptosis, the G2/M transition of the mitotic cell cycle, cell division, mitotic nuclear division, and intracellular protein transport were 2-fold up-regulated in HaCaT cells treated with the ginsenoside Rb1, whereas genes related to DNA repair, regeneration fission, and extracellular matrix organization were 2-fold down-regulated. Apoptosis signaling may be mediated by FAS and PLA2G4A, and pathway analysis indicated that STAT3 might be an upstream regulator of these genes. The activity of FAS and PLA2G4A was verified by qPCR, which showed that FAS was increased about 2-fold in HaCaT cells treated with $10{\mu}g/ml$ of ginsenoside Rb1 for 24 hr, PLA2G4A was increased about twice after 6 hours, and gene expression was increased more than 2-fold after 24 hr. Knockdown of STAT3 with siRNA decreased FAS expression and increased PLA2G4A expression but only FAS was passed from the upstream regulator STAT3. These results indicate that STAT3, which is an upstream regulator, induces apoptosis via FAS during treatment with ginsenoside Rb1.

  • Let $Y{\subset}{\mathbb{P}}^3$ be a degree d reduced curve with only planar singularities. We prove that $h^i({\mathcal{I}}_Y(t))=0$, i = 1, 2, for all $t{\geq}d-2$. We use this result and linkage to construct some triples (d, g, s), $d>s^2$, with very large g for which there is a smooth and connected curve of degree d and genus g, $h^0({\mathcal{I}}_C(s))=1$ and describe the Hartshorne-Rao module of C.

  • In The White Card (2019), Claudia Rankine dramatically interrogates whiteness's persistent, reflexive habit of trying to preserve a state of innocence, expressing her vision of how this tendency blinds white liberal subjectivity to the structural reality of institutionalized racism in America. Rankine's exposure of the invisibility to which people of color are usually consigned by American whiteness is inseparable from her critical interrogation of how the hypervisibility of victims of racial violence provides white liberal subjectivity opportunities to intervene and feel good about itself. What Rankine enacts in the play is a process of repetition and revision, signifyin(g) on racial violence and its history; acts of racial violence continue to accrete, and her act of signifyin(g) on the countless acts of racial violence in America conveys the understanding that this text cannot be rewritten if white America continues to attend solely to individual, ostensibly isolated, acts of racial injustice.

  • In this study, Arc plasma was employed for the thermal decomposition of nitrous oxide($N_2O$). Conventional ignition systems such as torch, spark, and catalyst systems, have disadvantages in that they are not reliable and do not provide rapid responses. Therefore, this study suggests the plasma application of plasma to overcome the problems of conventional ignition methods. A gas temperature and combustion experiment was carried out to investigate the feasibility to a novel igniter. The gas temperature was measured around $960^{\circ}C$ at 1 g/s, 0.7 A at the nearest wall. In addition, a combustion test was successfully conducted in 3.1 sec after the plasma discharge was initiated with a main flow rate of 10 g/s. The energy consumption for ignition was 1,780 J(574 W).

  • Background: Although case reports have suggested that the erector spinae plane block (ESPB) may help analgesia for patients after breast surgery, no study to date has assessed its effectiveness. This retrospective observational study analyzed the analgesic effects of the ESPB after total mastectomy. Methods: Forty-eight patients were divided into an ESPB group (n = 20) and a control group (n = 28). Twenty patients in the control group were selected by their propensity score matching the twenty patients in the ESPB group. Patients in the ESPB group were injected with 30 mL 0.375% ropivacaine, followed by catheter insertion for further injections of local anesthetics every 12 hours. Primarily, total fentanyl consumption was compared between the two groups during the first 24 hours postoperatively. Secondary outcomes included pain intensity levels (visual analogue scale) and incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). Results: Median cumulative fentanyl consumption during the first 24 hours was significantly lower in the ESPB ($33.0{\mu}g$; interquartile range [IQR], $27.0-69.5{\mu}g$) than in the control group ($92.8{\mu}g$; IQR, $40.0-155.0{\mu}g$) (P = 0.004). Pain level in the early postoperative stage (<3 hr) and incidence of PONV (0% vs. 55%) were also significantly lower in the ESPB group compared to the control (P = 0.001). Conclusions: Intermittent ESPB after total mastectomy reduces fentanyl consumption and early postoperative pain. ESPB is a good option for multimodal analgesia after breast surgery.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the corrosion behavior of aluminum (AA1100) in a mixed solution of 0 ~ 0.1 g/L Na2S + 0.3 ~ 3 g/L NaCl + 0 ~ 10 mL/L H2O2. Potentiodynamic polarization tests were performed. Effects of solution compositions on corrosion potential, corrosion rate, and pitting potential of aluminum were statistically analyzed with a regression model. Results suggested that localized corrosion susceptibility of aluminum was increased in the solution with increasing concentration of NaCl because the pitting potential was lowered linearly with increasing NaCl concentration. On the contrary, H2O2 mitigated the galvanic corrosion of aluminum by increasing the corrosion potential. It also mitigated localized corrosion by increasing the pitting potential of aluminum. Na2S did not exert a noticeable effect on the corrosion of aluminum. These effects of different chemical species at various concentrations were independent of each other. Synergy or offset effect was not observed.

  • A vanishing point is a point on an image to which parallel lines projected from a real space gather. A vanishing point in a road space provides important spatial information. It is possible to improve the position of an extracted lane or generate a depth map image using a vanishing point in the road space. In this paper, we propose a method of detecting vanishing points on images taken from a vehicle's point of view using Deep Neural Network (DNN) and Histogram of Oriented Gradient (HoG). The proposed algorithm is divided into a HoG feature extraction step, in which the edge direction is extracted by dividing an image into blocks, a DNN learning step, and a test step. In the learning stage, learning is performed using 2,300 road images taken from a vehicle's point of views. In the test phase, the efficiency of the proposed algorithm using the Normalized Euclidean Distance (NormDist) method is measured.
