Verification on the Reduction Technique of Measurement Time of Total Radiated Power (TRP) by Using Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) in 5G Frequency Band (유효등방복사전력(EIRP)을 활용한 5G 주파수 대역 총복사전력(TRP) 측정시간의 단축방안 검증)

  • In this paper, we described the verification results on method by using the computer simulation and practical experiment for reduction of total radiated power (TRP) measurement time consuming tens of hours. TRP measurements are used in the 5G band in order to exactly evaluate the wireless communication equipment, but it takes a long measurement time because of dense sampling interval. Moreover, if there are various beam forming scenarios, the total measurement time increases exponentially. Therefore, the world-wide research on reduction method of the TRP measurement time is intensively on going. The verified method in this paper is to calculate the TRP through effective isotropical radiated power (EIRP). At first, the relation of TRP and EIRP was investigated, and an antenna for testing was designed and constructed. And, the amount of error was analyzed through simulation and measurement. The analysed results showed that the derived TRP through EIRP has very small error. This method could be applied for TRP measurements of 5G wireless communication equipments.

Improved RPV(reactive-power-variation) anti-islanding method for grid-connected three-phase PVPCS (3상 계통연계형 태양광 PCS의 단독운전검출을 위한 개선된 무효전력변동기법)

  • As the grid-connected photovoltaic power conditioning systems (PVPCS) are installed in many residential areas, this has raised potential problems of network protection on electrical power system. One of the numerous problems is an Island phenomenon. There has been an argument that because the probability of islanding is extremely low it may be a non-issue in practice. However, there are three counter-arguments: First, the low probability of islanding is based on the assumption of 100% power matching between the PVPCS and the islanded local loads. In fact, an island can be easily formed even without 100% power matching (the power mismatch could be up to 30% if only traditional protections are used, e.g. under/over voltage/frequency). The 30% power-mismatch condition will drastically increase the islanding probability. Second, even with a larger power mismatch, the time for voltage or frequency to deviate sufficient to cause a trip, plus the time required to execute the trip (particularly if conventional switchgear is required to operate), can easily be greater than the typical re-close time on the distribution circuit. And, third, the low-probability argument is based on the study of PVPCS. Especially, if the output power of PVPCS equals to power consumption of local loads, it is very difficult for the PVPCS to sustain the voltage and frequency in an island. Unintentional islanding of PVPCS may result in power-quality issues, interference to grid-protection devices, equipment damage, and even personnel safety hazards. So the verification of anti-islanding performance is strongly needed. In this paper, the authors propose the improved RPV method through considering power quality and anti-islanding capacity of grid-connected three-phase PVPCS in IEEE Std 1547 ("Standard for Interconnecting Distributed Resources to Electric Power Systems"). And the simulation and experimental results are verified.

  • This paper presents the new unified power flow controller(UPFC) load flow algorithm using UPFC transmission line constant model. The UPFC transmission line constant model represents a function of transmission line constant(G.B) UPFC's effect in power system. It can easily be incorporated in a load flow program. The algorithm is suited for monitoring the power system state as well as determining the magnitude and Phase angle of UPFC serial voltage source.

  • Recently, the interest about Vehicle-to-Grid(V2G) system which can use the electric vehicles as generation sources or storage devices has rapidly increased. However, this technology does not use widely yet, and there is no clear standard or regulation for it. If electric vehicles are connected to the power system indiscreetly, it can cause problem to personnel safety and adverse effect on the power system. Therefore, it is important to analyze the related standards. In this paper, we introduce some international standard related with V2G system.

  • 신재생 에너지를 포함한 마이크로그리드가 활성화 되면서 한 장소에 DC 전력과 AC 전력이 혼재하여 서로 연관이 되는 경우가 빈번히 발생하고 있다. 이 경우 PMS(Power management system) 측에서 AC 전력뿐만 아니라 DC 전력에 대한 정보요구가 증대되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 AC 전력 및 DC 전력을 동시에 계측할 수 있는 마이크로 그리드용 원격 전력계측기를 개발하여 그 성능을 검증하였다. 또한 전력계 사용 시 결선방식과 전류 상을 자동으로 인식하는 방식을 제안하여 일반인도 쉽게 전력계측을 할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다.

  • Micro plasma has been recently studied to investigate the effects on various cells. We study a micro-plasma produced by a plasma needle that is operated with RF power and its effects on G361 melanoma cells. The micro plasma size ranges from sub-mm to several mm at a few watts of RF power. For the bio-medical treatment, low-temperature plasma is obtained and gas temperature is controlled within several tens of degrees $(^{\circ}C)$ in order not to disturb cell activities. Elementary spectroscopic studies to obtain plasma characteristics are presented for Ar and He plasma with different frequencies of RF power. Also the preliminary results of the micro plasma effects on G361 melanoma cells are presented. It was observed that the irradiation of micro plasma induces cell death through the deprivation of tyrosine phosphorylation in the G361 cells.

  • 본 논문에서는 넓은 충전 전압 범위와 V2G 기능을 갖는 급속 충전기용 DC-DC 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안한 컨버터는 SRC(Series Resonant Converter)와 2상 Buck/Boost 컨버터로 구성된 2-stage 구조로써 넓은 충전 전압 범위에 적합하며, 배터리 충전뿐만 아닌 V2G(Vehicle to Grid) 동작이 가능하다. 또한 2상 인터리빙 방식을 사용함으로써 전류 분담을 통해 소자의 전류 정격 및 출력 필터 사이즈를 낮출 수 있다. 제안하는 컨버터의 시작품 실험을 통해 타당성을 검증하였다.

  • The power flow analysis(PFA) can be effectively used to predict structural vibration in medium-to-high frequency ranges. In this paper, vibration experiment has been performed to observe the analytical characteristics of the power flow analysis of the vibration of a plate. In the experiment, the loss factor of the plate and the input mobility at a source point have been measured. The data for the loss factor has been used as the input data to predict the vibration of the plate with PFA. The frequency response functions have been measured over the surface of the plate. The comparison between the experimental results and the predicted results for the frequency responsefunctionshasbeenperformed.

  • In this paper, we have designed and fabricated a BPF (Band Pass Filter) for 5.8GHz Microwave Wireless Power Transmission. We $used{\lambda}g/2$ open-circuited stubs in addition to T-shaped transmission lines for the BPF. This BPF removes harmonics caused by diodes of RF-DC converter, and thus the RF-DC converter converts more RF power to the DC. The performance of the BPF was measured and shown through direct comparison of voltages converted by the doubler as a RF-DC Converter with and without the BPF.
