The standard method for calculating anti-neutrino emissions from a reactor involves knowing the fractional fission rates for the most important fissioning nuclides in the reactor. To calculate these rates requires detailed reactor physics calculations based upon the reactor design, fuel design, burnup dependent fuel composition, location of specific fuel assemblies in the core and detailed operational data from the reactor. This has only been published for a few reactors during specific time periods, whereas to be of practical use for anti-neutrino reactor monitoring it is necessary to be able to predict these on the publicly available information from any reactor, especially if using these data to subtract the anti-neutrino signal from other reactors to identify an undeclared reactor and monitor its operation. This paper proposes a method to estimate the fission fractions for a specific reactor based upon publicly available information and provides a database based upon a series of spent fuel inventory calculations using the FISPIN10 code and its associated data libraries.
[Fe II] emission lines are prominent in the infrared (IR) and important as diagnostic tools for radiative atomic shocks. We investigate the emission characteristics of [Fe II] lines using a shock code developed by Raymond (1979) with updated atomic parameters. We first review general characteristics of the IR [Fe II] emission lines from shocked gas, and derive their fluxes as a function of shock speed and ambient density. We have compiled available IR [Fe II] line observations of interstellar shocks and compare them to the ratios predicted from our model. The sample includes both young and old supernova remnants in the Galaxy and the Large Magellanic Cloud and several Herbig-Haro objects. We find that the observed ratios of the IR [Fe II] lines generally fall on our grid of shock models, but the ratios of some mid-IR lines, e.g., [Fe II] 35.35 µm/[Fe II] 25.99 µm, [Fe II] 5.340 µm/[Fe II] 25.99 µm, and [Fe II] 5.340 µm/[Fe II] 17.94 µm, are significantly offset from our model grid. We discuss possible explanations and conclude that while uncertainties in the shock modeling and the observations certainly exist, the uncertainty in atomic rates appears to be the major source of discrepancy.
To meet the increasing demand for energy around the world, offshore and subsea energy development is constantly being conducted. This trend is accompanied by an increasing demand for pipeline installation, which brings numerous problems, including those related to accessibility, high pressure, and corrosion. Among these, corrosion is a primary factor in pipeline fractures, and can cause severe environmental and industrial damage. Hence, accurate corrosion assessment for corroded pipelines is very important. For this reason, the present study investigated the mechanical behavior of an idealized corroded subsea pipeline with an internal/external pressure load using the commercial FEA code ABAQUS. Then, the analysis result was compared with corrosion assessment codes such as ASME B31G, DNV RP F101, ABS. Finally, a fitness-for-service assessment was conducted.

Cyber attacks are increasing continuously. On average about one million malicious codes appear every day, and attacks are expanding gradually to IT convergence services (e.g. vehicles and television) and social infrastructure (nuclear energy, power, water, etc.), as well as cyberspace. Analysis of large-scale cyber incidents has revealed that most attacks are started by PCs infected with malicious code. This paper proposes a method of detecting an attack IP automatically by analyzing the characteristics of the e-mail transfer path, which cannot be manipulated by the attacker. In particular, we developed a system based on the proposed model, and operated it for more than four months, and then detected 1,750,000 attack IPs by analyzing 22,570,000 spam e-mails in a commercial environment. A detected attack IP can be used to remove spam e-mails by linking it with the cyber removal system, or to block spam e-mails by linking it with the RBL(Real-time Blocking List) system. In addition, the developed system is expected to play a positive role in preventing cyber attacks, as it can detect a large number of attack IPs when linked with the portal site.
Air Traffic Control (ATC) towers play significant role in the functionality of each airport. In spite of having complex dynamic behavior and major role in mitigating post-earthquake problems, less attention has been paid to the seismic performance of these structures. Herein, seismic response of an existing ATC tower with a wall-frame structural system that has been designed and detailed according to a local building code was evaluated through the framework of performance-based seismic design. Results of this study indicated that the linear static and dynamic analyses used for the design of this tower were incapable of providing a safety margin for the required seismic performance levels especially when the tower was subjected to strong ground motions. It was concluded that, for seismic design of ATC towers practice engineers should refer to a more sophisticated seismic design approach (e.g., performance-based seismic design) which accounts for inelastic behavior of structural components in order to comply with the higher seismic performance objectives of ATC towers.
The numerical methodology for computing tile impact forces and water entry behaviors of high speed water entry bodies was been developed. Since the present method assumed the impact occurs within a very short time interval. the viscous effects do not have enough time to play a significant role in the impact forces, that is, the flow around a water-entry object was assumed as an incompressible potential flow and is solved by the source panel method. The elements fully submerged into the water are routinely treated, but the elements intersected by the effective planar free surface are redefined and reorganized to be amenable to the source panel method. To validate the present code, it was applied to disk, cone and ogive model and compared with experimental data. Good agreement was obtained. The water entry behavior such as the bouncing phenomena from the free surface was also simulated using the impact forces and two degree of freedom dynamic equation. Physically acceptable results were obtained.

The objective of this study is to recommend the radiation protection design parameters from the shielding point of view for concrete wall between the decay tank room and the primary pump room in TRIGA Mark-II Research Reactor Facility. The shield design for this concrete wall has been performed with the help of Point-kernel Shielding Code Micro-Shield 5.05 and this design was also validated based on the measured dose rate values with Radiation Survey Meter (G-M Counter) considering the ICRP-60 (1990) recommendations for occupational dose rate limit ($10{\mu}Sv/hr$). The recommended shield design parameters are: (i) thickness of 114.3 cm Ilmenite-Magnetite Concrete (IMC) or 129.54 cm Ordinary Reinforced Concrete (ORC) for concrete wall A (ii) thickness of 66.04 cm Ilmenite-Magnetite Concrete (IMC) or 78.74 cm Ordinary Reinforced Concrete (ORC) for concrete wall B and (iii) door thickness of 3.175 cm Mild Steel (MS) on the entrance of decay tank room. In shielding efficiency analysis, the use of I-M concrete in the design of this concrete wall shows that it reduced the dose rate by a factor of at least 3.52 times approximately compared to ordinary reinforced concrete.

When the steam is used as working fluid in fluid machinery, different from other gases as air, phase transition (steam condensation) can occur and it affects not only the flow fields, but also machine performance & efficiency. Therefore, considering phase transition phenomena in CFD calculation is required to achieve accurate prediction of steam flow and non-equilibrium wet-steam model is needed to simulate realistic steam condensing flow. In this research, non-equilibrium wet-steam model is implemented on in-house code(T-Flow), the flow fields including phase transition phenomena in convergent-divergent nozzle are studied and compared to results of advance researches.

A wave instability problem is formulated for natural convection flows adjacent to a inclined isothermal surface in pure water near the density extremum. It accounts for the nonparallelism of the basic flow and temperature fields. Numerical solutions of the hydrodynamic stability equations constitute a two-point boundary value problem which are accurately solved using a computer code COLSYS. Neutral stability results for Prandtl number of 11.6 are obtained for various angles of inclination of a surface in the range from-10 to 30 deg. The neutral stability curves are systematically shifted toward modified Grashof number G=0 as one proceeds from downward-facing inclined plate(.gamma.<0.deg.) to upward-facing inclined plate (.gamma.>0.deg.). Namely, an increase in the positive angle of inclination always cause the flows to be significantly more unstable. The present results are compared with the results for the parallel flow model. The nonparallel flow model has, in general, a higher critical Grashof number than does the parallel flow model. But the neutral stability curves retain their characteristic shapes.

The gains fur NC controller parameter are fixed when the controller is combined with a machine. However, the characteristics of controller could be changed as it has being used by the machine or other environmental conditions. Those result in that the tool positioning accuracy is influenced. The loading torque in servo motor influences on the tool positioning accuracy and it is controlled by the parameter gains. It is required to analyze the torque variation with angular positioning accuracy of the servo motor. This study focus on a measuring method and device for verifying angular positioning accuracy of NC servo motor. We used a high resolution An converter for acquiring analogue signal of rotary encoder in servo motor. The positional accuracy for a nominal tool path, which is generated by the combination of axial movements (X,Y,Z), is analyzed with the servo motor torque. The current variation signal is acquired at the power line using a hall sensor and converted to the loading torque of servo motor. The method of measurement and analysis proposed in this study will be used for determining the gains of parameter in NC controller. This gain tuning is also necessary when the controller is set up at a machine.
