A Comparison of the Fuzzy Display Methods for a Surface Deformation

  • There are several kind of surface deformation display methods using the fuzzy model. In this paper, we describe three fuzzy display methods for a surface deformation and perform a comparative analysis between the modified fuzzy display method and some conventional fuzzy display methods. In each method, the analysis will be performed through computer simulation in order to show the performance of each algorithm. The results show that the modified method have improved the realism and can be used better than the conventional methods in practical applications.

  • In this paper, a new method for displaying a surface deformation is proposed using the fuzzy model. In the proposed method, it is enough that only one rule is added to the fuzzy model to display a surface deformation. Furthermore, designer can easily determine which parameters should be used and how much they should be changed in order to alter shapes as they want. The proposed method is, thus, a simple, but effective technique that can also be applied to real time operation. The results of the computer simulation are also given to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.

  • Vibration isolation equipments are mostly required in precise measurement and manufacturing system. Among all the vibration isolation equipments, air-spring is the most widely used equipment because of low resonant frequency and high damping ratio. In this study, we used Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy method to design an active vibration isolation system using air-spring, and compared the fuzzy method with passive control method and PID control method. Due to the non-linearity characteristics of air-spring, fuzzy controller was verified to be the most effective both in simulation and experiment.

  • An approach to fuse the fuzzy inference system which is able to deal with imprecise and uncertain information and genetic algorithms which display the excellent robustness in complex optimization problems is presented in this paper. In order to combine genetic algorithms and fuzzy inference engine effectively the new reasoning method is suggested. The efficient identification method of fuzzy rules is proposed through the adjustment of search areas of genetic algorithms. The feasibilty of the proposed approach is evaluated through simulation.

  • In PDP(Plasma Display Panel), sub-field method is used to implement gray scale. Each sub-field has different periods. And Every gray level has information of which sub-field has to be displayed. This is called sub-field mapping. There are several sub-field mapping values in some gray levels. So, it is possible to select best choice in this paper, we propose new sub field mapping method using a fuzzy inference system to select best sub-field mapping values in accordance with input image and environment temperature. In order to implement fuzzy system, we used MATLAB fuzzy inference editor.

  • The diffusion of fuzzy logic techniques into real applications requires specific software supports which save development time and reduce the programming effort. But we has been lack of a tool devoted to support the design of fuzzy controllers. In this paper, on the basis of the general fuzzy set and .alpha.-cut set decomposition of fuzzy sets, a set of fuzzy reasoning tool(FRT) devoted to support the design of fuzzy dontroller for servo systems is developed. The major features of this tool are: 1) It supports users to analyze fuzzy ingerence status based on input deta and expected results by three-D graphic display. 2) It supports users to prepare input data and expected result. 3) It supports users to tuned scaling factor of membership functions, rules and fuzzy inference. The paper shows how the suggested design tools are suitable to give a consistent answer to the tuning of fuzzy control system. This FRT is expected to exert good performance and devoted to support which the design of fuzzy controller is illustrated in the servo systems.

  • Color Display Tube (CDT) used in computer monitors, consists of many components. Deflection Yoke(DY) among them supplies the vertical and horizontal magnetic fields so that the spatial trajectories of electron beams are deflected according to the synchronization signals. If the magnetic fields are not correctly formed, there will be color blurring or blooming by a mis-convergence of each beam and the color image on screen may not be clear. Therefore, in the manufacture of DY. its quality is strictly examined to get the desired convergence and the occurred mis-convergence can be cured by sticking ferrite sheets on the inner part of DY. However, because it needs expert's knowledge and experience to find the proper position of the sheet, this article introduces an intelligent controller that the knowledge-base represented by a neuro-fuzzy model is used to find the optimal position of the ferrite sheet for the convergence.

  • System to urinalysis using FT-IR instruments is presented based on fuzzy logic knowledge. Linguistic expressions of the possibility of infection and the importance were quantified and membership functions were determined based on general quantitative criteria. Diseases considered were Diabetes Mellitus, Proteinuria, Microalbuminuria. Glucose, Protein, Albumin, Creatinine in 30 samples were analyzed by the present system, which resulted in 74% accuracy. The simple mathematical formulation of present system would enable an easy implementation in commercial analysis instruments. Also, the identical fuzzy logic can be applied to similar diagnostic environments in general.

Local Binary Feature and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy based Defect Detection in Solar Wafer Surface (지역적 이진 특징과 적응 뉴로-퍼지 기반의 솔라 웨이퍼 표면 불량 검출)

  • This paper presents adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference based defect detection method for various defect types, such as micro-crack, fingerprint and contamination, in heterogeneously textured surface of polycrystalline solar wafers. Polycrystalline solar wafer consists of various crystals so the surface of solar wafer shows heterogeneously textures. Because of this property the visual inspection of defects is very difficult. In the proposed method, we use local binary feature and fuzzy reasoning for defect detection. Experimental results show that our proposed method achieves a detection rate of 80%~100%, a missing rate of 0%~20% and an over detection (overkill) rate of 9%~21%.
