  • In this paper, the concept of connected geodesic number, $gn_c(G)$, of a fuzzy graph G is introduced and its limiting bounds are identified. It is proved that all extreme nodes of G and all cut-nodes of the underlying crisp graph $G^*$ belong to every connected geodesic cover of G. The connected geodesic number of complete fuzzy graphs, fuzzy cycles, fuzzy trees and of complete bipartite fuzzy graphs are obtained. It is proved that for any pair k, n of integers with $3{\leq}k{\leq}n$, there exists a connected fuzzy graph G : (V, ${\sigma}$, ${\mu}$) on n nodes such that $gn_c(G)=k$. Also, for any positive integers $2{\leq}a<b{\leq}c$, it is proved that there exists a connected fuzzy graph G : (V, ${\sigma}$, ${\mu}$) such that the geodesic number gn(G) = a and the connected geodesic number $gn_c(G)=b$.

  • In this paper, we propose "a graph structured fuzzy system" which is able to represent the fuzzy system with a graph and optimizes the fuzzy membership functions and fuzzy rule bases using genetic algorithms. It performs the structure identification phase and parameter tuning phase simultancously through the evolutionary process. Additionally, it alleviates some of the drawbacks associated with the current fuzzy construction method with respect to the explosive increase of fuzzy rules which is inevitably encountered whenever the fuzzy systems are applied to problems with the high-dimensional input space.

  • An automatic transmission model using the bond graph techniques is developed for analyzing shift characteristics of vehicles. Bond graph models can be systemically manipulated to yield state space equations of standard form. Bond graph techniques are applied for modeling overall automatic transmission systems and shift models. A fuzzy controller is synthesized for the verification of a shifting model in the ${1^st} gear to the {2^nd}$ gear. Simulation results show the fitness of models by the bond graph techniques.

  • In our study, the integration of fuzzy graphs into classical graph theory gives rise to a novel concept known as "Fuzzy Super Subdivision." Let SSf (G) be the fuzzy super subdivision graphs, by substituting a complete bipartite graph k(2,m) (m = 1, 2, . . .) for each edge of a fuzzy graph. The attributes and properties of this newly proposed concept are briefly outlined, in addition to illustrative examples. Furthermore, significant findings are discussed on connectivity, size, degree and order of fuzzy super subdivision structures. To illustrate the practical implications of our approach, we present an application focused on analyzing the growth of infections in blood or urine samples using the Fuzzy Super Subdivision model.

  • Constructing a shortest path on a graph is a fundamental problem in the area of graph theory. In an application where we cannot exactly determine the weights of edges, fuzzy weights can be used instead of crisp weights, and Type-2 fuzzy weights will be more suitable if this uncertainty varies under some conditions. In this paper, shortest path problem in type-1 fuzzy weighted graphs is extended for type-2 fuzzy weighted graphes. A solution is also given based on possibility theory and extension principle.

  • In this paper, we present a methodology to model an indoor environment of a mobile robot using fuzzy numbers and to make a global map of the robot environment using graph theory. We describe any geometric primitive of robot environment as a parameter vector in parameter space and represent the ill-known values of the prameterized geometric primitive by means of fuzzy numbers restricted to appropriate membership functions. Also we describe the spatial relations between geometric prinitives using graph theory for local maps. For making the global map of the mobile robot environment, the correspondence problem between local maps is solved using a fuzzy similarity measure and a Bipartite graph matching technique.
