Design of Mobility System for Ground Model of Planetary Exploration Rover

  • In recent years, a number of missions have been planned and conducted worldwide on the planets such as Mars, which involves the unmanned robotic exploration with the use of rover. The rover is an important system for unmanned planetary exploration, performing the locomotion and sample collection and analysis at the exploration target of the planetary surface designated by the operator. This study investigates the development of mobility system for the rover ground model necessary to the planetary surface exploration for the benefit of future planetary exploration mission in Korea. First, the requirements for the rover mobility system are summarized and a new mechanism is proposed for a stable performance on rough terrain which consists of the passive suspension system with 8 wheeled double 4-bar linkage (DFBL), followed by the performance evaluation for the mechanism of the mobility system based on the shape design and simulation. The proposed mobility system DFBL was compared with the Rocker-Bogie suspension system of US space agency National Aeronautics and Space Administration and 8 wheeled mobility system CRAB8 developed in Switzerland, using the simulation to demonstrate the superiority with respect to the stability of locomotion. On the basis of the simulation results, a general system configuration was proposed and designed for the rover manufacture.

  • 최근 보다 혁신적인 모빌리티 산업의 패러다임을 변화시키기 위해 도심항공교통 (UAM; urban air mobility) 도입에 관한 논의가 전 세계적으로 활발히 진행되고 있다. 한국형 UAM의 성공을 위해 공역, 버티포트, 항법, 통신 등과 관련된 연구는 관련 연구기관 주도하에 활발히 이루어지고 있으나, UAM 운항사의 운항 관리 개념 정립, 통제절차 개념 수립 등에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다. UAM의 상용화를 위해서는 복수의 UAM 운항자의 개별 시스템 개발의 기준이 될 수 있는 표준화된 운항 관리 개념 정립이 필요한 시점이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 UAM 특별법 미적용 사항을 살펴본 후 이로부터 운항사가 준비해야 할 사항과 기존 민항기 및 회전익 항공기의 관련 규정에 대해서 분석하고, 국내 저밀도 운항 관리 및 통제절차 개념 수립을 위한 적합한 방안을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서 제시한 초기 저밀도 환경에서의 UAM 운항 관리 및 통제절차 개념 수립 방안을 착안하여 추후 시범 운영 및 UAM 대중화에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

The Factors Influencing the Use of Shared Economy-Based Mobility Services

  • Purpose: Shared mobility services are the most notable in the shared economy; however, they have yet to be activated in Korea due to various regulations and conflicts amongst stakeholders. Nevertheless, shared mobility has become an irresistible trend of the times, as it can cause a great deal of economic and environmental benefits. In this vein, the purpose of this study is to contribute to the revitalization of shared mobility services in Korea and to provide service providers with implications for developing consumer-oriented marketing strategies. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the reasons that the users do not use shared mobility service, the factors influencing the behaviors of shared mobility users are structured and analyzed in a reliable, technical and procedural manner. To this end, the theory of reasoned action (TRA) of Ajzen and Fisbbein, the initial trust model (ITM), task technology fit (TTF) and switching cost (SC) are adopted. A total of 202 questionnaires were collected from the respondents who were aware of shared mobility. Then statistical processing of the collected data used SmartPLS(v.3.2.8), a PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling) analysis program. The steps of the analysis are as follows. First, a PLS-Algorithm analysis was performed to evaluate the measurement model, and a Bootstraping and Blindfolding analysis was performed to evaluate the structural model and verify the hypotheses. Second, a multi-group analysis (PLS-MGA) was conducted to further analyze the differences depending on whether or not users experienced shared mobility service. Results: The results showed that initial trusts model (ITM) and task technology fit (TTF) have positive effects on users' behaviors through the mediation of the intention to use. As opposed to the assumption, switching costs did not have negative moderating effects in relation to the intention to use and users' behaviors. The influence of IT self-efficacy was significant, depending on the prior experience to use shared mobility services. Conclusions: This study will contribute to the revitalization of domestic shared mobility services and the formulation of service providers' marketing strategies. In future studies, there is a need to explore, reconstruct, and validate factors other than the impact factors of the shared mobility services used in this research model.

  • MaaS의 영향력이 주목받고 있는 가운데, 공유 모빌리티를 중심으로 모빌리티 서비스 시장이 급격히 성장하고 있다. 시장 선점을 위해서 현재 초기 확산단계에 있는 퍼스널 모빌리티 서비스 이용자의 인식과 경험을 파악하고, 향후 확장될 시장의 잠재 소비자들의 특성을 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 따라서 이 연구는 주관성 연구방법인 Q 방법론을 사용하여 퍼스널 모빌리티 이용자 유형을 분류하고 UX(User experience) 전략을 수립하고자 하였다. 제품 및 서비스 특성과 이용자의 개인적 특성 요소들을 중심으로 41개 구성하고, 잠재 사용자와 실사용자를 포함하는 30명의 P샘플을 대상으로 데이터를 수집하였다. QUANL 소프트웨어를 사용하여 수집한 데이터를 분석하였으며, 그 결과 (1)효율적인 이동 우선형(Mobility Efficiency), (2)경계하는 안전추구형(Safety First), (3)합리적인 여가활용형(Rational Utilization), (4)호기심 많은 재미추구형(Sheer Riding Pleasure)의 네 가지 심성 모형이 도출되었다.

자가 거주 가구와 임차가구의 주거이동 특성 비교 (A Comparative Study of Residential Mobility between Home-owning Households and Renting Households)

  • The purpose of the study is to analyze the residential mobility effects and planning discrepancies of home-owning households and renting households. The data for the empirical analysis were collected from 248 units residing in Ulsan and were studied using descriptive statistics, chi-squared tests by cross-tabulation and multiple regressions. The majority of the households did not experience a change in types of housing structure or ownership after the residential mobility. However, the housing size increased after residential mobility, showing that most moves were due to the deficit of housing sizes. In terms of future mobility plans, there were significant differences between home-owning households and renting households. More than two-thirds of the renting households were willing to move within 2-4 years to obtain home ownership. On the other hand, most home-owning households were willing to move for housing size, education of the head, and investment purposes. Compared to the forty-four percent of the home-owning households, seventy-two percent of the renting households were willing to relocate, which shows the effects of unstable housing circumstances.

MAPI 리간드 치환형 PbS 양자점 기반의 고감도 단파장 적외선 광 검출기 개발 (Development of Highly Sensitive SWIR Photodetectors based on MAPI-capped PbS QDs)

  • With the development of promising future mobility and urban air mobility (UAM) technologies, the demand for LIDAR sensors has increased. The SWIR photodetector is a sensor that detects lasers for the 3D mapping of lidar sensor and is the most important technology of LIDAR sensor. An SWIR photodetector based on QDs in an eye-safe wavelength band of over 1400 nm has been reported. QDs-based SWIR photodetectors can be synthesized and processed through a solution process and have the advantages of low cost and simple processing. However, the organic ligands of QDs have insulating properties that limit their ability to improve the sensitivity and stability of photodetectors. Therefore, the technology to replace organic ligands with inorganic ligands must be developed. In this study, the organic ligand of the synthesized PbS QDs was replaced with a MAPI inorganic ligand, and an SWIR photodetector was fabricated. The analysis of the characteristics of the manufactured photodetector confirmed that the photodetector based on MAPI-capped PbS QDs exhibited up to 26.5% higher responsivity than that based on organic ligand PbS QDs.

A Lightweight NEMO Protocol to Support 6LoWPAN

  • The Network Mobility (NEMO) and IPv6 over Low power WPAN (6LoWPAN) protocols are the two most important technologies in current networking research and are vital for the future ubiquitous environment. In this paper, we propose a compressed packet header format to support the mobility of 6LoWPAN. Also, a Lightweight NEMO protocol is proposed to minimize the signaling overhead between 6LoWPAN mobile routers and 6LoWPAN gateways by using a compressed mobility header. Performance results show that our Lightweight NEMO protocol can minimize total signaling costs and handoff signaling delay.

미래 LISP 망에서의 망 이동성 지원 방안 (A Network Mobility Support Scheme in Future LISP Network)

  • 최근 복수개의 단말을 가진 사용자들이 끊김없는 연결성을 유지하기 위한 망 이동성 지원에 관한 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 LISP 구조에서 망 이동성 지원 스킴을 제안하였다. 제안된 스킴에서 모바일 라우터 접속 동안에 맵 서버에서 EID-to-RLOC 매핑 데이터베이스가 리프레쉬(refresh)된다. 또한 이동 망을 위한 자연스런(smooth) 핸드오프를 지원하기 위한 맵 갱신 방법을 제안하였으며, 성능 분석을 위해 제안된 스킴을 NEMO와 비교하였다.

  • The study for ubiquitous computing infra is proceeding actively, it make possible to use service and access network anywhere, anytime because of wire/wireless communication technology and progress of hardware. Domestically, study for the network mobility support technology which is the key technology for future ubiquitous computing realization have progressed, but that is insufficient. Especially, there is no study for independent mobility support study about railway wireless network. So, this study propose network mobility management technology for mobile network infra in railway and proper network model in train.

A Study on the Integration Between Smart Mobility Technology and Information Communication Technology (ICT) Using Patent Analysis

  • This study proposes a method for investigating current patents related to information communication technology and smart mobility to provide insights into future technology trends. The method is based on text mining clustering analysis. The method consists of two stages, which are data preparation and clustering analysis, respectively. In the first stage, tokenizing, filtering, stemming, and feature selection are implemented to transform the data into a usable format (structured data) and to extract useful information for the next stage. In the second stage, the structured data is partitioned into groups. The K-medoids algorithm is selected over the K-means algorithm for this analysis owing to its advantages in dealing with noise and outliers. The results of the analysis indicate that most current patents focus mainly on smart connectivity and smart guide systems, which play a major role in the development of smart mobility.
